Shoebury Nursery part of the 'Early Years Alliance' provides care and education for up to 84 children from the age of six weeks to five years.

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted in March 2023, the nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), providing children with a strong foundation in the start of their education and supporting them to learn and develop through play.

The nursery team is dedicated and well-qualified and encourage parents to get involved at the nursery where possible. Staff are paediatric first aid trained.

The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year between 8.00am and 6pm Monday - Friday.
The nursery is closed over Xmas and bank holidays.

Sessions available are

13:00-18:00 Toddlers & Pre-school
Full day- 8.00-18.00 Toddlers and Pre-school
(For Babies minimum of 2 full days no half days)


Please note visits to look around are welcome and the nursery ask if you could avoid the lunchtime period as they have a lot of children changing sessions.

My daughter has been at Shoebury Nursery since she was 9-months and now leaving for school. My son has been there a year since he was 10-months. This was the first and only setting I looked at. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are amazing. My kids don't even say goodbye to us in the morning
as they are so excited about going. They keep us updated on the app and provide photos and updates on the kid's activities.

My son loves Shoebury Nursery and has bonded very well with all the staff. He enjoys a range of activities and food and finds comfort in the routine. They use an app to keep parents informed and allow you to monitor the child's food, sleep and changes throughout the day. Although I love the app, I feel
as though more one to one communication would be beneficial. I have also noticed recently that the snacks provided can be more sugary than I would like, but we are quite strict in that regard. Overall, a great nursery, filled with caring staff.

My son started nursery in August 2021 and he absolutely loves it. It was a shaky start as he was a lockdown baby but the staff were wonderful with him and kept me updated throughout the day. A few weeks in, he was telling us to hurry up out the door so he could get to nursery! He now walks in full of
confidence, knowing he's in for a day of fun and adventures with the many activities that are on offer. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I'm so happy I've found a nursery he is so happy at. I also like that the app lets you keep track of what they've eaten, nappy changes and naps, which is very good to know. A brilliant nursery.

This nursery is a fantastic nursery. My daughter made lots of friends and has a good friendly relationship with all teachers. She knows each by name as well as her friends too and she is 4 years old. The staff are always friendly and caring. They teach kids new things every day. My daughter enjoys going
there and sometimes asks me when it's the weekend if she can go to nursery today (Saturday or Sunday). Overall excellent nursery in all aspects.

My daughter started here last year in April, and she has absolutely loved it! She thinks a lot of the staff, and I'm sure she is going to miss them all, including all of her peers. The nursery had helped my daughter come a long way; the staff help us with potty training, and my daughter smashed it in
about two to three weeks. I and my partner cannot thank all the staff enough! They are all amazing, especially all throughout the coronavirus lockdown.

My son was attending the nursery since he was 13 months till we moved out from the area in November last year. The staff at the nursery absolutely lovely, very caring and responsive to any requests. Every week there was a new theme for children to explore, from ball pit to jungle or animal world. The
facilities were great and the garden was lovely too. The food was yummy and my picky son usually ate everything.
The manager is absolutely brilliant. The nursery has a great communication through the app and the daily feedback through the daily sheet was very useful. Even though it was a year ago, we very often remember the key worker and how lovely she was to our son. I would recommend the nursery to anyone.

We moved to the area when I was 7-months pregnant and put my daughter into another nursery - she was very unhappy. We found Shoebury nursery one morning on our way to the library and decided to switcher her, she walked into the room straight away, she stayed until she left for school. My son also is
here now, he took a very long time to settle, a year and a half in fact, and there was a lot of guilt by me, am I doing the right thing, the staff were fantastic with me, he wouldn't go through the door without them having to peel him off me, now he runs in. He also suffered from low hearing, had grommets, speech problems, and his key worker is fantastic with him. He often gets frustrated with things and can lash out (mainly at me), so his key worker worked so hard with him, and now if he gets frustrated - he asked for a hug, instead of lashing out, she is absolutely amazing. He has learnt so much. I will be very sad when he leaves, I have certainly enjoyed my time there; everyone is happy there.

My husband and I would highly recommend this nursery. Our son adores it here, and he adores the staff just as much. It's safe, secure, clean, they're fed well, they learn a lot, play a lot and before the lockdown, he couldn't wait to go back every day. Communication between parent and nursery is always
a priority and I know everything he's done and eaten whether it's via face to face conversation or the nursery app. I'll be very sad when he leaves this place for big school.

Shoebury Nursery have looked after my three children over the last six years including my 1yr old currently attending now. I returned to work after three months maternity and knew that he was in safe hands. The staff across all rooms are friendly, caring and form a real bond with the children. My son
is always excited to go to nursery and the feedback at the end of the day is great. The addition of the app this year has also been great. Updates are regular to all parents and viewing/paying your balance is clear. A lovely nursery with lovely staff.

The staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and approachable. Caring for my son's needs on each session he attends the nursery. The only thing I would change about the nursery is there is a blind spot between the exit gates and pavement which could lead to an accident. Other than that the nursery is
outstanding and would totally recommend this venue and staff to anyone looking for the perfect nursery for their child to learn and get the right support needed.

My Grandson has attended Shoebury since 9 months old. We cannot speak more highly of the wonderful team and spirit which welcomed us into this excellent, well managed and organised caring environment. My Grandson is in the baby room where the team ensure he is well cared for and go out of their way
to interact with us as parents/grandparents and the children in such a positive and caring way.
The atmosphere is a positive happy caring one. The team have gone well beyond our expectations and nothing is too much trouble with communication being valued. The whole Shoebury team are well organised, professional and accommodating. We feel very confident in leaving our Grandson in their care. The room is a learning environment with new activities introduced constantly. The children are stimulated with the smallest of tasks with each learning curve being documented. The team ensure they spend time at the end of each session to fully communicate the day.
Well done to the whole team of Shoebury!

Management takes on board all of your ideas and knows every child’s name. Communication between parent and nursery is great.

I was so worried about my nine month old baby starting nursery and had bad anxiety over it. The staff at the nursery are so welcoming and reassured me. The managers of the nursery are lovely. Any problems are very friendly and helpful.
The staff in the room are excellent. My son gets a lot of hugs
and one on one time. They introduced him to all kinds of food he loves and he has developed so much in a month already.
My little boy cries as he now wants to stay at nursery instead of wanting to come home with me. That says it all, how much fun he has. Every day he does different activities.
I have recommended this nursery to two of my friends who both are also soon to start at the nursery.

My daughter joined this nursery about six months ago now.
When she first joined it took her a while to get settled, which of course is understandable. While she was learning to settle in and get into a routine, the staff were so loving and caring towards her needs. They would call me if she had been
unsettled for more than an hour and gave me lovely updates when I rang to check on her.


Six months down the line, she absolutely LOVES coming to nursery. She loves all of the staff and loves interacting with the other children. I am so very glad I chose this nursery and chose to start her at an early age, she has come along so far since joining, which is all down to the amazing work the staff do on a daily basis.

This nursery is everything you would expect and more. Friendly staff, high security, clean facilities and a healthy menu. Not to mention new and different activities each day. I searched for a long time to find a nursery that I felt happy with for my son. From the first day I walked into the nursery I felt a great atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and always have time to talk about any worries I have (which have been very few). The staff give a detailed feedback to
me every day when I pick him up so I know how he has spent his days.
I have recommended the nursery to others.
My son has progressed so well since being here, his speech and social skills have improved and he always comes home happy, well fed and excited for his next day.
There is so much choice of activities both inside and in the secure gardens.

Very welcoming. Staff are always there to greet you with a smile. Managers are always available and they are very approachable with any questions I may have. It is clear that they genuinely care about the children and families at their setting.


My daughter is currently in the 2-3 room and I cannot

fault her care. The staff have also supported our family with guidance with potty training. Really impressed with the room and the toys.


Our daughter asks to go to nursery even on the days she is not meant to go. She is very happy and has never complained about attending. We considered looking at a school nursery for when she turns 3 but after consideration, because she is so happy and is developing so well, we think we may keep her at the nursery because she is so happy and settled.


The communication is great, I like the newsletters.


Lovely atmosphere.
