Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side has been open for 18 years.

Rated 'Good' by Ofsted (March 2017), the nursery has their families at the heart at everything they do and work together to give the children the best start in life.

The keyworker system throughout the nursery ensures the children and parents get to know the person caring for their child and build a great bond with them.

A full-time chef cooks all meals from scratch, they cater for all allergies.

In-house training ensures all staff have up-to-date knowledge of all changes within the childcare sector.

Staff and families have access to the nursery's UP app which supports children's development. Please ask about this when you look around.

All rooms open out onto fabulous gardens, so that the children are able to free-flow throughout the day.

The setting is a five minute walk from Chafford 100 station, on the mainline to Fenchurch Street - with free car parking. They are located near Lakeside shopping centre/outlet centre.

Give the Nursery a call or book your visit online. They are looking forward to seeing you.

We started the nursery in September 2023, really happy with how things turned out for our little one, who started at 3 and a half years old. All the staff have been very helpful, polite, attentive, etc. Special thanks to the staff who have been there for our little one since his first day of settling
in, also to the director for all the help with the questions, and other staff members that I'm sorry for not mentioning right now but everyone has been great. I wish all the best to Busy Bees Howard Road, keep doing a great job!

The nursery has improved so much in so many areas. I am very happy and satisfied with the management and the staff.
In all the rooms, the resources and the activities are excellent. I am very happy to see both my girls progress in the nursery. I am very happy to see the pictures and the videos sent
to me every day.

The staff here are amazing! They are supportive, encouraging and much more important they love what they do. I don’t have a bad word to say about the cleanliness, food and activities. My little boy always enjoys himself when he goes and he has progressed educationally so much more than I could have
ever hoped.

Since returning to nursery in September my child has settled in so well. She loves the ladies in the room looking after her, and I have full confidence in them as practitioners. The safety measures in place regarding COVID are practical and easy to follow, as well as effective. I can really tell the
staff love their jobs and really care about the children.

This is nursery is wonderful. The atmosphere the staff create is amazing, always upbeat, welcoming and friendly. Both my children have attended, one flew the nest this year and the other still attends.
Since September and all the changes to the setting because of the Government's guidelines, etc, the
staff have been as welcoming as they always have been. My son loves going to nursery and the staff really do recognise the areas of development my child is thriving in and those areas where help is needed and they factor these things into the daily activities set for my child.
Communication is good also which is of utmost importance when leaving your child at nursery.
I would highly recommend this setting and in fact, I have recommended them very recently to another parent who has booked their child in to start at the nursery.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since October 2019. She is developing more and more every day. Staff are friendly and she loves going into her room. She now loves it so much she wants to attend at the weekends. She has made so many friends, all her 'best friend's as she calls them. I can't
recommend enough.

My daughter has been attending the nursery since late 2018. She was very unsettled at first, and it took her a while to settle, but now she loves it. It was difficult dropping her off whilst she was so upset, but staff and management reassured me, and made me feel better. I was sent pictures on the
app of how settled she was during the day and this put my mind at rest.
Very good nursery, happy we chose this one.

My child started nursery at the start of January 2018. Prior to their start date, they attended some settling in sessions which helped them and the staff understand their routine and needs. The staff have been extremely helpful and I cannot fault them: they have looked after my child exceptionally;
have spent the time communicating their day which helps me as a parent understand their meals and nappy changes, and have adapted easily when their routine at home had changed. The App that the staff use to explain their day is easy to use and can be checked at work. I am very pleased we chose this nursery as our child is happy, comfortable and well looked after - they enjoy going. I have definitely relaxed from the start and definitely feel confident that my child is being cared for.

Key workers in the specific room always seem caring. I dislike the use of so many bank staff as it doesn’t provide consistency and parents don’t know who they are. Lastly, it appears that interpersonal skill and training of bank staff are not to the same high standard of key workers. Use of updates
regarding traffic around nursery sent by management is really useful! Overall, I would rate nursery as very good.

I absolutely cannot fault this Nursery. I literally could not wish for anymore from a Nursery. The staff are amazing; every single one of them has gone above and beyond to care for my son and for me too. My son has multiple allergies and the dedication, understanding and care the Manager, Chef and Staff
have shown is exceptional. I cannot thank them enough. My son loves going to Nursery and has come on leaps and bounds since he started. He adores the staff that looks after him and gets excited when he sees them.
The Nursery and the Rooms are perfect; clean, creative and adapted well to suit the children’s ages. It is a loving and secure environment. Communication with the Nursery has always been very easy. I honestly could not have gone back to work if I had not have found this nursery, I one million percent recommend it!

We love the nursery. The staff are fantastic, caring & friendly. We wouldn't take our children anywhere else.
My eldest son is currently in pre-school & has been there for almost 3years. He is dropped off in the mornings where he has his breakfast, fueling his tummy for a busy day ahead. He is involved
in many activities where we notice each day he has learned something new. His confidence has grown and interacts well with friends & helps to build bonds with the carers. They have large rooms & garden where they can go out for fresh air.
My youngest son is on his 4th week, at first I was upset to leave him but as the day went on I felt at ease knowing where he was. Both are fed well during the day. Both open in trying new recipes as there is a wide variety of them that you can take home to try. All the children eat together encouraging each other to eat well. They are all fed healthy and nutritional meals and snacks throughout the day, Yum.
I can not thank the staff enough for what the do for my sons.

The staff at Busy Bees are all fantastic. I could not ask for a nicer group of people to look after my son. Always polite and reassuring I feel at ease while I'm at work which is such a relief. My son has made great progress and always comes home in high spirits. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone.
I love the parent zone app where I can log on and see what my son has been up to and look at his observations and photos etc. I look forward to watching my son grow and progress at Busy Bees.

My daughter attended the nursery for 4 years from the age of 8 months after looking around at local nurseries. My daughter has gained in confidence throughout her time at the nursery and built a fantastic bond with all the staff here at Busy Bees Howard Road. She formed bonds with children and still
talks about her nursery friends. My daughter's key workers always involved myself and her father with her development and were always on hand to offer us help and support. The management within Busy Bees Howard Road uphold their open door policy and are always there to listen and support you as a family unit.

The food within Busy Bees is fantastic offering a wide range of new foods and staff are helpful in supporting children in eating.

Myself and her father would like to thank everyone at Busy Bees Howard Road for helping our daughter grow and move on to the next stage of her life at big girl school.

My 3-year-old has transferred recently to this nursery from another nearby as was becoming very bored and began noticing changes in his behaviour. Now he cannot wait to get to nursery, even wanting to attend on weekends, he very much enjoys both staff and children's interaction, never seeming to want
to come away. So much so it can often take 10 minutes or more just prizing him away from activities he is involved in. All staff members are always very polite and welcoming, always have time for any questions you may need answering no matter how big or small.
Meals are of such varied choice and always seem to be eaten and tends to eat much more whilst in nursery.
Very happy with this nursery overall. Wonderful atmosphere, so friendly.
Would absolutely recommend to other parents and fully intend later on unrolling our 2-month-old here also.
Well done Busy Bees, keep up your hard work.

Over the last 3 months i've noticed an extreme difference in my granddaughter, this must be a reflection on her attendance at busy bees nursery. On the couple of occasions I've collected her, the staff are so helpful, and friendly, and happy to give me lots of information on her daily routine, along
with this I've noticed she has developed from everything shes learnt, her numbers and colours have improved, and her confidence and interaction and social skills have also developed, and i'm a very proud nanna.

My granddaughter attends the nursery a couple of days per week, and has progressed through all the rooms.
Her learning and development have come on leaps & bounds since attending the nursery, and I cant thank the staff enough.
My daughter and son-in-law work full time, and we had many reservations
about sending her, but our worries were put at rest at the beginning, and we have had no issues since
I can't recommend the staff, and the nursery enough.

Amazing Amazing, Amazing, I was really apprehensive to change my son's nursery having moved into a new area it was the best choice.
But what sets my mind at rest and my worries aside was how professional supportive, kind, friendly and protective the team are at Busy Bees nursery.
Warm friendly and
highly trained I knew my son was in good hands. The manager continues to keep safety and security her priority, the highly qualified chef provides high protein nutritious yummy food by which the kids always want more. Now what could I say about the three nursery assistants my son doesn't wanna leave their arms and continues to tell me about his fun days which always ends with "I wanna go back to see my nursery teacher mummy, I don't wanna go home"

Current Review Score: 7.8 (7.799)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.8 (7.799) out of 10 for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.565 for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.565

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.234 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Chafford Hundred Station Side (Howard Road) is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 92 number of registered child places is 18.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.4 = 0.109

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
