Kiddi Caru Day Nursery in Basingstoke is a purpose-built nursery offering outstanding Early Years care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Rated Good by Ofsted (January 2025), it features spacious, age-specific rooms, a sleep room for babies, and three secure garden spaces including a treehouse, sandpit, and mud kitchen.

The child-led curriculum combines the Curiosity and Hygge approaches, supported by dedicated key carers and a qualified SENCo. Long-serving, well-trained staff deliver a range of engaging activities including yoga, Boogie Mites, French lessons, and Make & Bake sessions. Staff are always very welcoming and knowledgeable of my daughter's individual preferences. She has also come on leaps and bounds with her writing (mark-making), and knowledge of phonics, and has come home speaking French!

The lady in the baby room is amazing with my little boy. Always get updates throughout the day on the app showing me what he's up to in the day, which I enjoy. Really happy with the service, and management does everything they can to accommodate.

A wonderful environment with caring, supportive staff. Our daughter has attended since 8 months of age and has really grown into a confident child with the support of Kiddi Caru. She is happy, well cared for and nurtured and it's clear to see the staff are great at what they do.
Having no family nearby
meant that this was the first environment we had left our daughter in, and we are so happy we made that decision. She loves her key workers and clearly has a strong bond with them. She comes home happy (and tired!) from all the fun, interaction and learning she's had in the day.
Thank you for everything, we're so grateful for the safe and caring setting.

Kiddi Caru has been phenomenal with our son, who joined when he was 14 months old (now 20 months). He took a while to settle, but they spent time learning about him and how to support him; even the nursery manager spent time reading him books and genuinely taking an interest, which is so lovely to see.
He now loves his days there; he participates in every activity and has made strong bonds with the staff who, I couldn’t rate more highly! Always friendly and communicate well with the children and the parents. The classroom (snowdrop) has a lovely bright feel to it, and there are lots of areas for creative and imaginative play.

We are proud to recommend Kiddi Caru.
Our first precious child together, it’s a big moment leaving her in the care of others. However, we absolutely made the right decision. Our child has transformed into a caring, confident 18-month-year-old. Each day we can see and feel the love she receives, and
we can’t thank the staff enough for the kindness shown.
The nursery has just launched a new app that allows you close to real-time data on nap times, meal content/times etc, which as things progress digitally, is a really lovely touch.
One particular lady in the sweet pea room has been truly inspirational from the off, supporting us with any questions or advice. As first-time parents, this has been absolutely game-changing. Big shout out also to my child's key worker.
Overall, we are delighted - credit to the team.

Absolutely lovely staff, great facilities, and so many activities our little one loves. Our son has been attending for over a year now, and we’re hoping to send our second child here later this year. Generous outside space and regular approved walks in the local parks and woods. Regular enriching activities
(sing and sign, French, boogie mites) and great communication from all staff. We can’t recommend staff enough!

My youngest son has started just recently and he's been welcomed in by all the staff. He looks forward to going to Nursery and even gets disappointed when it's not a Nursery day. Bless him he'd spend 24 hours a day, seven days a week if he could. He can't wait to tell me about his day at nursery as
soon as I get in from work. Having familiar faces there as my daughter and son attended here before puts myself and my partner at ease. So when picking a Nursery for our youngest it really was a no brainer. Keep up the good work all at Kiddi Caru Day Nursery, you're doing a brilliant job.

The staff are nice enough. Our son gets along with certain staff members which is nice to see.
Meals could be better to satisfy every child as most afternoons our child will refuse his tea due to not liking the meal given. The outside play area is brilliant.
Communication could be a lot better, on
just one situation they didn’t inform us “new to parenting” about getting a child ready for school how and when. When questioned about this subject the nursery did not know the closing dates for application, applying, or how to go about this or any mentions of school!

I currently have three of my children attending the nursery. Two of them started off at the nursery roughly at about 8 months old. I am especially happy with the progress my children have made so far at nursery, and I look forward to the artwork my daughter brings back home. The staff are engaging and
kind. A special shout out to the staff in the sweetpea room at the nursery who are very kind and you can see it reflected in the way they care for the children. Generally, I am pleased with the nursery and will recommend it to any parent. The nursery ticked and is still ticking all the boxes for me - education, quality care, real-time updates to parents, consideration for the wellbeing of children, and also security.

My daughter has just finished attending this nursery and has started school.
My daughter has been with this nursery since she was 8 months old, varying from 1-4 days per week over the last 3 years.
I cannot put into words how this nursery has helped my daughter develop. She is confident, sociable
and has learnt things that we would have never thought to do at home. The team at Kiddi Caru Basingstoke have just been such an innovative and supportive role in my child's development.
Throughout the pandemic, I always felt that my daughter's safety (and all the children's) including staff and parents were of the utmost importance and the children's safety was always a priority. During such a manic time, the Basingstoke team were always there and always supportive.
Some of the nicest people I have ever met and my daughter still talks about her care workers even though she has left.

I have to base this review on my children and how happy they are/were being there.
Both my children loved going to what they call(ed) kangaroo school. They built lovely relationships with most of the staff and genuinely seemed excited to go to school. Any issues were dealt with efficiently and any
questions were answered quickly. I never worried about my children when leaving them in the care of Kiddi Caru.
My only issue was the issues with staffing, I appreciate that these could not be helped but it did almost become a daily occurrence receiving an email asking if we could keep our children at home. With the lines of work that both my husband and I are in having days off at short notice can cause problems, so it was a constant worry about if they would be able to attend.

Our daughter joined the nursery in December 2020 and has been in two of the rooms with two different teams.
She certainly loved her time at Kiddi Caru, made lots of friends and benefitted from trying lots of new things: yoga, French and dancing.
The nursery is easy to get hold off, seems to have
great safeguarding practices in place and the staff, regardless of room, seem to know each child by name.
Our daughter developed a close bond with her key people and it was a comfort knowing that if she was upset she would go to them and seek them out for comfort and that it would be gladly given.
The only criticism I have of Kiddi Caru is its flexibility of extra hours/change of hours/additional days. As working parents, we need to be able to rely on childcare that works around our work. We requested a change of days within the requested 8-week notice and still has not been made over months later, which is difficult when trying to work without childcare.

Fantastic care! I used Kiddi Caru for all my kids and I can honestly say I would use them again. My kids were always happy to go and they always said they had a good day. The food was very good with a good variety. Very clean with a great outdoor play area.

Absolutely fantastic nursery and preschool, they have an interest in the children in their care. They are very supportive of special requirements for children, with dietary requirements and also health care. This is when things needed like creams, whether that is normal cream or specialised prescription
cream. My little one decided on which preschool to attend, and she absolutely loved being at Kiddi Caru. She loved all the activities and learning about different things and playing outside. This preschool is amazing at helping when families are going through difficult situations, including separations.

During her childcare journey, she has gained childcare qualifications as well as a Level 3 Management qualification.
