My son seems to absolutely loves his time at Maples. He has been full time since the beginning of the year and it has been wonderful to watch his relationships grow and develop with the staff. Maples has good facilities and a really big garden, with chickens. I especially like that the site is quite
private. The food seems to be of a good standard and the staff are very caring and clearly love working with children. The only thing I'd love to see is more regular reports.

My little boy has settled into Maples very happily. The staff are friendly, helpful, approachable and professional. He particularly enjoys the outdoor activities, rugby tots and the chickens! The children get the opportunity to take part in so many fun activities in a very supportive environment. The
staff have been really helpful with potty training. I would not hesitate to recommend Maples to others.

Daughter settled in really well into Butterflies. Staff so welcoming and friendly. Always engaging with my daughter and give a great review of the day and what they have been doing.
She has made some great friends and we have seen a vast improvement in her speech and language.

Maples is outstanding in regards to developing children in their key milestones.
The children take part in a variety of activities.

There are some exceptional staff at the nursery, however, I don't feel they are always valued, therefore leave. This is a shame and has an impact on the children, particularly when they've formed a close bond.

My son has settled well into nursery. The staff in his room are very attentive and take great care of him. The activities they involve him in are well planned and encouraged him to achieve. He has begun speaking more since nursery and also singing many songs that he has learnt at nursery. He really

My daughter loves going to her nursery to see her friends.
It is like home from home and has an excellent bond with her key worker. When her key worker does her hair, I'm not even allowed to take it out.

The staff at Maples Day Nursery (Winchester) are very helpful and friendly. Our son has a lot of fun every day and is always cheerful when we pick him up at the end of the day. He particularly enjoys playing in the spacious garden and always comes home covered in dirt.

I knew nothing about daycare for children until I had my 2 boys. I was unsure about 'someone raising my kids', but soon I realised that it's not how it is. It's fantastic for the boys. They learn so much. I am very grateful for Maples and its staff, and the boys love it.

We recently moved to Winchester form Ireland. We were sorry to leave our prior nursery. However, Maples has far exceeded our expectations. The staff have been so welcoming and loving to our children. My little girl has been at Maples since 7 months old 9now 18 months) and has built great rapport with the staff. She always seems to have great fun and love the things she makes and brings home. The parent zone is also great as we can see what she is doing and progressing.

My daughter joined Maples Day Nursery when she was about 10-months-old and she took a while to settle but the nursery workers were very supportive. Initially, her keyworker changed quite a few times but that wasn't the fault of the nursery. My daughter is really settled and happy now and the team are
really helping her come out of her shell.

The nursery has lots of activities both indoors and out. They are very good through the ages and have allowed her to grow in independence. They are good with caring and it's good that the food is prepared on site as not all nurseries do that.

Alex is Manager at Maples Day Nursery in Winchester and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 20 years and with an MA in advanced Practice Early Years. Alex joined Childbase Partnership in 2024 after being in a regional role for another large chain nursery company.


What is your favourite feature of Maples?
We are so lucky as a inner city nursery to have such a large and varied outdoor space with lots of exciting opportunities to explore lifecycles and growth in the natural world.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I'm most proud about the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by the staff team. Everyone has a drive towards providing the best possible experience for our families and goes above and beyond to extol the Childbase values.
