Mayville Nursery is well respected for its partnership with parents and for supporting children to thrive and grow, whatever their starting points may be. Staff are experienced and well qualified, but above all nurturing. Staff also understand the importance of play and provide support alongside a mix of adult and child led activities ensuring that children grow in all areas of development, whilst constantly learning about the world around them.

Mayville Nursery offers day care for children 2 until they start school. It comprises a toddler room for children 2-3 years and a Pre-school for children the year before they start school.

Being part of Mayville High School enables them to have an enriched curriculum with specialist lessons taught by staff from across the school in a fun and age appropriate way.

The Preschool room is set near the Reception class and being able to use the school facilities enables children to be school ready through everyday activities. Smooth transition to school is supported, whether that be within the school itself or to mainstream settings.

My daughters have been in this nursery since they turned 2 and it has been a great experience. They get great care from the teachers and have made lovely friends. They are excited to talk about their day when they come home and look forward to going back. Would highly recommend!

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.933) out of 10 for Mayville High School Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Mayville High School Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mayville High School Nursery is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

My name is Sharon and I have been working in Early Years for over 20 years. I started working as a Nanny and throughout my career have had experience in a range of settings, working my way to the management level, studying as I did so.

I have BA Honours in Early Years, EYTS status and am currently studying to get an NPQL in Early Years Leadership.

I firmly believe that all children deserve the best start in life and that if they feel safe and happy they can achieve anything. I also believe that parents play the most important part in their child's life and good relationships are key.

I am proud to work in the Early Years and no 2 days are the same!
