Located on the outskirts of Berkhamsted, the nursery is in the perfect setting; nestled amongst vast green space to optimise outdoor learning; and only 5 minutes from the A41 for busy parents travelling to and from the nursery. The setting follows a Montessori approach to education, which prioritises the growth and development of each child, in a supportive and engaging space designed for them to learn and thrive.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes; inspired by the Montessori approach, fostering meaningful connections between children and the world around them and helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The large outdoor garden allows the children to move freely between the indoor and outdoor environments. Outside, the children are free to explore nature; making use of the bird hide and willow den as well as tending the vegetable plot and growing their own plants. The large covered outdoor classroom also allows children the opportunity to access the curriculum in a different environment.

Inside, the nursery is complete with 5 main age-appropriate rooms. Each room is carefully designed and equipped with resources to encourage age-appropriate learning and development.

My daughter loves Sunhill nursery. She looks forward to getting here in the morning and tells us about what she and her friends do all afternoon. The staff are friendly, caring and I always feel they are approachable. The outside area is fantastic and I know my daughter enjoys being out in all weathers.

My daughter has been at Sunhill since she was 11 months old. She is now three and we continue to be delighted with the care and compassion shown by all the staff. She is always happy to go, she has grown in confidence and she is always learning something new.

I have nothing other than wonderful things to say about Sunhill. The staff go above and beyond any other nursery I have experienced, both my children loved going to Sunhill and have helped give them confidence and be truly happy and content with who they are, there is nothing more important to a mother
than their childs happiness and I can say without hesitation that both my children were extremely happy. The staff are such a blessing to the school and help it feel like a family. Thank you.

We are very happy that our son goes to Sunhill nursery. No issues at all, staff are friendly and warm. Our son is happy every time we drop him off which says it all. During parents evening, we receive detailed reports on our sons progression which is insightful and shows the attention that is being

Sunhill has been a wonderful setting for my daughter who has attended from November 2017. The staff are caring and supportive (from the top down) and while she has had a key person, all staff in her room know her well and can offer her the support she needs through the day. She is now heading off to
school but I know Sunhill has helped give her the grounding she needs for this next stage. I can't recommend them enough.

From the management to the staff, Sunhill is an outstanding nursery and preschool. The children are cared for with warmth and enthusiasm. The management team are always extremley friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. A happy place, full of happy children.

Sunhill Montessori is a fantastic nursery that teaches the children so many different skills an a fun way.
My son has come on leaps and bounds.

The team have been excellent at helping my son settle in and also helping us manage his food intake as he is intolerant to almost all food.
They have also changed the flour they use for playtime as my son is intolerant to wheat.

Both our children have been at Sunhill nursery and we cannot speak highly enough of the Manager and the whole team. Every person knows both our children's names, even if they are not usually in their room. It is such a loving and warm environment and we have always felt so happy and confident with the
