We have a 30 month old son. He has been with Busy Bees since he was 6 months in London. We moved to Markyate recently and he started at Busy Bees Rothamsted in September. Not only was the transition between nurseries super easy, the staff at Rothamsted couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful,
immediately wanting to learn everything about our son, his current capabilities and how they can develop him further. Both myself and my husband work and the flexible opening hours have allowed us to continue our day-to-day schedules easily, knowing that our son is safe and happy, dropping him off at 7.30am and collecting him at 6.30pm... sometimes even later if the nursery can arrange babysitting. Because of this, we have decided to keep our son at the nursery throughout pre-school until he enters prep school.


I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone seeking to develop their child in a friendly, happy environment.

My 18-month-old son loves it here. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. He's very happy here and has good long naps which didn't ever happen at his old nursery. Love the free flow into the outdoor space as he adores being outside. Food is great and I get him back happy and clean with a full report.
I feel like the staff really care and he's learning their names and the names of the Friends he's made there. I really like the parent zone I connect system they have where I can see what he's been doing during the day as well photos of his activities. So pleased we chose this nursery.

I have two children at this nursery and both are extremely happy there. The older one chats happily about the staff, friends and what she has done when at home. They are particularly good at ensuring a welcoming and caring environment in all rooms working alongside parents to help their child's development.
This is not only with regards to the academics but also with 'life skills' such as taking shoes on and off, drinking from an open cup, eating nicely at the table, tidying away toys and being kind to friends.

Since my daughter started here in September 2016, all of the staff (including office and kitchen staff!) have gone out of their way to support, nurture and encourage her in everything she does. She struggled to settle at first as she had not been apart from me before, but thanks to the continued care
and commitment of the staff, she is now a different little girl at the nursery. Happy, engaged, cheeky, chatty, confident - it is so wonderful to see! This is down to the hard work and dedication of the team at Busy Bees Rothamsted Lodge. They are a support not only for my daughter but to me as well, always finding time to chat and ensure I know how my daughter is getting on. They are the most wonderful team and I am so thankful that my daughter is at this nursery.

The staff at this nursery are exceptional . I can not praise them enough. My daughter knows all their names and often talks about them with fondness at the weekends. It is a fun nursery and my daughter has developed so much there. They play outside, get messy, learn different things every day and she
has made so many friends there. The nursery has a great friendly safe atmosphere and I am very happy with it. Ps, she loves the food there!!! A happy mummy and daddy.

Lovely nursery with lovely staff members who take a real interest in my child.
We were very sorry to say goodbye when my son went to school in September but we will still be attending their open days as they are very good!

My name is Tammy, I am a passionate childcare professional who truly believes that the first five years are crucial in setting the foundations for each and every child's future. I have a degree in Primary Education and have been working in childcare for over 30 years.


I am very proud to have a dedicated, long-standing staff team who share my passion for delivering high-quality childcare to all of our children.


We have seen many families come through the nursery and it is very rewarding to see how the children grow into confident individuals ready for their next chapter of life.


Our Nursery is set in a listed building surrounded by peaceful countryside. I would be delighted to show you around and hopefully welcome you to become part of our Busy Bees family.
