Bright Horizons Potten End Day Nursery and Preschool (formerly Muddy Puddles Day Nursery and Preschool) is located in a picturesque location between Berkhamstead and Hemel Hempstead in Potten End, committed to providing premium childcare for children aged three months to five years. Dedicated staff will cherish and nurture your child, encouraging them to develop friendships, independence, curiosity and, most importantly of all, to have fun.

Additional equipment and resources within four, age-appropriate rooms are aimed at extending and supporting the key areas defined in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Messy play, painting, glueing, mark-making, baking, stories, construction, threading, imaginative play and dressing up are amongst the indoor activities which are all enjoyed across the nursery on a regular basis along with singing, music and dancing which are supported on a weekly basis by their external partners Jelly Babies, Jelly Beans and Tiny Mites.

Mealtimes at Potten End Day Nursery and Preschool are a happy, social occasion for children and staff alike. All the food is prepared and cooked daily on-site by the nursery chef and offers a healthy, balanced diet as well as meeting individual needs and preference.

We moved our daughter to Bright Horizons as we hadn't been satisfied with the level of care she was getting at her previous nursery and we are so glad that we did. Every member of the team we have come into contact with have been so welcoming and open. They have ensured our daughter settled in really
well and their level and standard of care is nothing short of spectacular. They know our daughter and work with her and give her comfort in a home from home style. She is confident with her carers and has an obvious bond with her key worker. We're so grateful that her happiness is their priority and they arrange daily activities which give her a varied and stimulating day. They have great indoor and outdoor space and the daily menu that is laid on gives her a wide variety of different foods to try. On top of this, the app gives us a real time view of what she's been doing from a nap, nappy change, eating and play. We couldn't ask for a better setting for her and us.

It’s our second child in this nursery and both girls have been very happy here! It’s a safe environment, the care given is great, the settings (inside and outside) are beautiful and very child friendly, food is varied and my girls try dishes they would refuse at home! Activities and learning are age
appropriate and engaging and there is never a day I don’t get a new painting or picture! The girls love it! A home from home!

My daughter has been going to the nursery since she turned 1 so has moved through a few of the age groups. In every one she has had excellent care and is becoming a sociable, confident toddler. She has made some lovely friends who she talks about at home a lot! She looks forward to putting on her nursery
bag every day and going in so we know she is really happy there and has a great time. We would love some more in-depth feedback on her development from the nursery but we're safe in the knowledge she is being well looked after which is ultimately top priority.

I cannot recommend Bright Horizons Potten End enough! The pre-school room teachers have really helped our son come out of his shell and into his own! The kindness and patients all of the staff exhibits on a daily basis is truly astounding. Their enthusiasm does not go unnoticed and makes the children
excited to learn and play. The garden is amazing and the children get to spend lots of time outside. Every day after pick up, our son is always happy and cannot wait to share what he has done that day! As a parent, when you cannot be with your child, knowing that they are safe, happy, and cared for is invaluable.

Bright Horizons Potten End nursery is a lovely peaceful setting, there is plenty of outdoor space, trees, a flock of Guinea fowl and good parking. It has good access and you don’t have to struggle through lots of traffic to get there.
The food is prepared on site and the cook is very helpful with
little ones during the weaning process. Both my children eat a wide range of foods at nursery, often things they wouldn’t touch at home!
The staff are caring and friendly and really know what makes the children tick. There are a wide range of activities available with free flow to most, sand and water play are out most of the time.
Staff have recently organised sessions where parents can come to the nursery to see their children in action which is lovely as you get a real feel for the daily going’s on. Feedback is good with the app providing photos most days and mini reports regularly.
I would happily recommend this nursery to parents. Both my children have been very happy in this setting.

A great nursery in a lovely location. It’s a lovely setting with kind and caring staff. The nursery has excellent outdoor and indoor spaces for the children and lovely home cooked meals provided every day. Excellent nursery. My child is incredibly happy there and runs in every morning with a smile. Staff are caring and thoughtful. Outside space is great in a rural setting. Food is nutritious and the menu is varied.

A gorgeous nursery with 100% caring staff. Great admin team, great carers and my daughter could not be happier here. This is my third child to attend a childcare setting and I can honestly say I wish I had used them from the start.

An all-round lovely nursery, my two children attend bright horizons and they love it. My son goes 3 times a week and gets excited every day that he is due at nursery. The staff are also very lovely. The location of the nursery is a very quiet site which is good and it’s not on a main road which was
one big positive for me. However, you don’t get much of what they’ve done on their sheet, which is a shame because it’s nice to know what they’ve been up to, to incorporate it at home. You only get the basics of what they eat for meals but no snacks. Apart from that, I would highly recommend it to other parents out there who are looking for a good nursery.

We have had children at Potten End for 3.5 years now and have loved every moment. The staff are wonderful, know the children inside out and really encourage them to learn and explore, building their confidence as they go. Every time our eldest has moved rooms we’ve been worried that the staff won’t
be as good but each time he has built the same bond with the caring and kind staff in the next room. He has taken huge strides in both his maths and phonics/ spelling without even realising it! Our youngest has struggled a bit with his language development but his key worker went out of her way to support him, making flashcards and spending time with him to build his confidence.
The setting is beautiful with lots of outdoor space (and guinea fowl wandering around) which the staff use as much as possible. The manager is friendly and always tries to accommodate changes where she can.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Potten End to anyone, it really is a wonderful place.

My little boy started this nursery in April and he is so happy! We have seen massive changes already! Due to lockdown, I was worried about his development. However, since joining the nursery I do not need to worry. He/we love the staff. The nursery gives a report after each day and really go over and
beyond to help. My son has food allergies which I was also worried about, the nursery has a strict protocol and something I do not need to worry about. Amazing nursery and I have a very happy 2-year-old that is so excited to go to nursery.

I have had children at the nursery for over four years and am really happy sending our boys here. The staff are just wonderful and show genuine love and care which is all we could ask for. My boys have never once said that they don't want to go to nursery and for me, that speaks volumes. The children
get involved in so many fun activities, eat healthily and get outside as much as possible. Would recommend.

Both of my children have been to Bright Horizons Potten End Day Nursery and Preschool since they were one years old and loved it. It's got a lovely feel to it, in converted barns in the middle of nowhere with plenty of space for the children to run around. The care is fantastic and my children have
always bonded well with their key workers and the carers seem to have a real affection for the children and to genuinely care, which is so important when you're leaving your little ones in the care of others. They have made some lovely friends there and regularly come home with arts and crafts. The menu also appears to be pretty good and I'm sure that my two are good eaters as they've also been offered such a variety of food at the nursery. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nursery or preschool in the local area.
