The Old Station Nursery Faringdon is an exceptional nursery located in a listed, converted railway station. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

As the first nursery in The Old Station Nursery Group, the setting has become a flagship for excellent childcare in Faringdon since opening in 2002. It’s renowned for high-quality care, reflected in the qualified, passionate, and child-centred team, and is also proud to hold the Millie's Mark award, received for commitment to paediatric first aid.

The nursery has three dedicated rooms, each helping children grow into confident and unique individuals. Under 2’s begin their journey in the comfortable baby room, where they can explore and learn with a range of age-appropriate resources, including mirrors, musical instruments, and toys. As they gain confidence, they transition to one of the 2-3-year-old rooms, where they can continue to learn through heuristic play and natural resources. When children turn 3, they transition to the Pre-School room, where structured sessions prepare them for school transition.

The outdoor environment is an essential aspect of the nursery, with frequent trips to parks, libraries, and other local attractions. The nursery also has plenty of garden space, where children can run around and play together.

To enhance children's natural curiosity and promote key skills, knowledge, and attitudes, the nursery offers a 'Brighter Learning Approach.' This approach intertwines with the core curriculum provision, offering real opportunities for children's learning and development.

I was very anxious about sending my daughter to nursery 17-months ago, but the staff are just amazing with her. She now loves going in and is one very happy girl! I would highly recommend this nursery.

I couldn't recommend this place any higher. Our youngest daughter had very little social interaction (due to lockdown), so I was worried about her settling in - however, the staff in the baby room are so warm and friendly that she's been happy and content consistently from day one. Our eldest has grown
massively in confidence since starting in the older room, and is kept very busy and stimulated whilst he's there. He is always happy to tell us what he's been up to in the day (and he often sings us new songs)! They're a lovely team with some great ideas.

My son absolutely loves going to the nursery. The girls are all lovely and welcoming and have made it nothing but enjoyable and a home from home for him.

My son is nearly two and a half, he has been in the baby room and toddler room, both of which he has absolutely loved. The staff have been so lovely; they listen to what I tell them about my son and always give great feedback. My son enjoys going to nursery and always seems to have fun and is cared
for. He gets on very well with his key person in the toddler room; she is always very friendly, gives me good feedback, is always helpful, and my son is very comfortable with her.

My son has been a part of the nursery for about a year. The staff are extremely helpful, and my son really enjoys his time there. We have had no issues, and I will highly recommend the nursery. I love checking the log at the end of the session. I really enjoy the handover process too, and almost feel
like my son is going from one family to another. All the staff are friendly and really go out of the way to make parents and children comfortable. Thank you, and keep up the good work.

My son attended The Old Station Nursery for holiday club this year. Despite not knowing anyone on his first day, he settled in so well and I think that was mainly down to the amazing staff, who really took time to get to know him. He absolutely loved his time there and has been raving about all the
different activities he got up to and singing new songs he was taught. On his last day of holiday club, he didn't want to leave and asked me straight away if he could go back at half term! As a parent, it has completely put my mind at rest that he is really well looked after there and also extremely happy. I will definitely be recommending it to others.

We couldn’t have asked for a better nursery for our daughter to attend. They worked so hard to initially settle her in last year when she started in the baby room and made us feel so welcome, everything is done with such a personal touch.
My daughter went back to nursery in the first group after COVID
19 and the professionalism of the staff in such difficult circumstances really shows how much they care about the children. They have made it such a welcoming place to come back to, even though it’s all a bit different for the children due to the restrictions. All the staff work so hard and the personal thought, care and culture shines through still.
Thank you so much and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery in the Faringdon area.

Our son has attended the nursery since he was five months old. We could not be happier with the wonderful care and fantastic atmosphere at the nursery. As a former childcare worker myself finding the right nursery setting for my children to attend was very important for me. I had a show round at several other nurseries prior to The Old Station Nursery but from the get-go they had me won over.
I was very impressed by not just the setting itself but
also the incredibly caring staff. I found the activities available fantastic and my children thoroughly enjoy the likes of cheeky monkeys and French lessons as well as regular trips into town/the hairdressers etc to learn about their interests and further their education. My eldest has now been at the nursery for 2 years and youngest joint last year too and I would certainly recommend to anyone else looking for childcare - in fact, I have done so previously!

The Old Station Nursery in Faringdon is fantastic. My daughter has been attending for the last 18 months and gets to do things that she doesn’t get to do at home. Each child has a key worker which has been extremely beneficial to my daughter in creating relationships and gaining confidence.
The food
is top class and the community events make it so enjoyable to meet other parents and the children my daughter talks about. I shall be very sad when she leaves to go to school. Fantastic staff, activities, food and facilities.

When it came to choosing a nursery for my little boy to attend, I was extremely nervous. He had never attended one and when I first started looking he was just over two. I didn’t know what to expect and I’m not sure whether I was more nervous regarding that, or whether it was regarding if my little
boy would adjust and enjoy himself in new surroundings. I couldn’t recommend a better nursery than The Old Station Nursery. Not only does it provide an amazing environment for children to develop and explore new things, but it also has amazing staff. Management and their team are genuinely lovely people and care and want the best for every child at the nursery. Not only do they support the children but also the parents. I’ve noticed a huge change in my son since he has started attending and the extra support from his key worker and another carer has been so beneficial for him. It’s truly a wonderful nursery and wonderful staff.

I couldn't imagine sending my children to any other nursery. There is so much care and attention given to each child, and regular updates so parents can have an insight into their child's day. They cater for planned activities specifically suited to the children's own interests. I have never had a moment
of doubt whether this was the best place for my child.

We looked at a number of nurseries for our daughter (2yrs old). We chose The Old Station Nursery for a number of reasons. The staff are amazing, updates on the app to let us know what our daughter has been up to, with updates on her development too. At every pickup, our daughters day is relayed to us
with things she enjoyed and food she had eaten (which is different every day). The staff are very bubbly and easy to talk to. Our daughter loves going here and waves at everyone as soon as we come through the gates, she always runs in to see her little friends and the staff always welcome her with such joy and love. I couldn't imagine her going to any other nursery. Thank you Old Station Nursery for helping our daughter grow.

What strikes me most about the nursery is the warmth and friendliness of the staff. They bring a very homely feel to the place that is also professional. They all demonstrate a strong awareness of the needs of my child and give examples each day of how they are progressing. It is a comfort to know they

The ladies of The Old Station Nursery are very welcoming and the standard of care speaks for itself. My kids absolutely adore the staff. The progress my eldest has made is remarkable and it's all down to the teaching standards. My youngest who is only 1 loves seeing the ladies first thing. And more
importantly, I can go to work and feel relaxed and comforted by the fact they are very well taken care off.

The staff are really friendly and engaging with the children. The kids often come home with new ideas and conversations that they have clearly picked up from a broad range of experiences. The freshly prepared foods seem to be a hit with kids. The secure online daily updates for parents with photos and
observations of what the children have been up to means you are always kept in the loop.

My little boy adores nursery and this is a testament to the fantastic staff who everyday care for him, stimulate him and nurture him.


Activities are fun, educational and varied. The children are encouraged to spend time outside and the nursery is always thinking of fun days (i.e. Pirate Day) and

trips out (i.e. Easter bonnet parade to the supermarket). Further to this, since being at The Old Station Nursery my little boy's language, counting and ABC's has come on leaps and bounds.
The staff always support our wishes and give us helpful advice when we have requested it.

The Old Station Nursery in Faringdon, is without a doubt, the best nursery that my girls have been in (they’ve been in 3). The ladies who run it and who work there, are an absolute credit to the nursery and to early years itself.


They have so much passion for their work and so much love for the children.

It’s the only nursery we’ve had the girls in where the manager actually knows every child on a personal level and it’s just lovely to see.


There are not enough words to say how grateful we are to all the staff here and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Hello, I'm Steph and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Faringdon. My qualifications include a BA Hons, Early Childhood Development.


Faringdon was our first nursery and has seen many children develop and grow over the years. We offer great care and education and many local schools comment on being able to tell a Reception-aged child who has come from The Old Station Nursery.
