A fantastic school! My son is now into his second year at Lyndhurst (reception) and it is one of the best decisions that we have made for him (and us). The school's before and after care is second-to-none, and along with the wonderful teachers and staff means that my son very much enjoys his school
day. His academic progress has been rapid, and he has access to a very wide variety of sports and extra-curricular activities. It has been an excellent choice of school.

Our daughter absolutely loves Little Lyndhurst. We really appreciate the structure and breadth of opportunity which the children get. She loves music and French and really enjoys the excellent outdoor play facilities. The teachers are professional and kind and have built up really strong relationships
with her. She brings home lovely crafts and really enjoys the stories and reading that Lyndhurst encourages. She has honestly had such a lovely time there. We are very grateful we sent her.

Our three-year-old has settled in wonderfully and loves the school. The teachers and assistants are well organised, friendly, and create an excellent learning environment. The schedules are varied with plenty of opportunities for outdoor playing and learning. My wife and I also love the proximity to
the prep school and the interactions the nursery can have with bigger kids especially during after school. The 8am to 6pm wrap-around care is very convenient for two working parents.

My child has thrived within this wonderful environment. We could not recommend Little Lyndhurst more. She has been supported excellently through her early years, which has led to a solid foundation to form for her future education. Her needs have always been met, and the staff have kept us informed
throughout her time and journey through the school. Little Lyndhurst, like the rest of the school, is like a family and the children are all so content.

We cannot praise Little Lyndhurst enough, they have treated our boys with so much devotion and care and are now growing into kind caring and polite young boys. Their dedication of our boy's progress, supporting their learning and academic progress in equal measure with their pastoral needs had been
second to none.
The practicality of having the extended day has been a huge benefit for us as working parents and supported the boys with their move into school.

Our three children loved their time at Little Lyndhurst. A great preschool with excellent teachers. Good class sizes that transition well to the main school and year one. Good relationships for kids and parents alike.

Little Lyndhurst is outstanding. They have all the love and care of a top nursery but also include the routine and discipline of school life. This is unique in my experience. It means that by the time children come to leave, they are more than ready for school emotionally and academically. The staff
are incredibly caring and kind, the facilities are excellent, especially the outside area. Little Lyndhurst has its own independent space, but is also part of the main school - this has so many advantages. In other nurseries you mainly get nursery staff, here you get excellent teachers, you also have the attention and leadership of a top Headmaster with the children getting included in all suitable main school events. My daughter finished Little Lyndhurst educationally advanced for her age in all areas, ready for “big school” happy and confident. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.708)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.708) out of 10 for Little Lyndhurst is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.958 for Little Lyndhurst is calculated as follows: ( (23 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.958

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Little Lyndhurst is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 number of registered child places is 3.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.2 = 0.625

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
