They have also obtained their Green Flag Eco-Schools Award at distinction level.

Pennypot hold the extracurricular activity of 'Melody Movements' every Friday morning.

We were really nervous for our son to start going to Nursery in June as he was approaching his 1st birthday. The reason being he has had no social interaction what so ever since January this year due to Covid lockdown and has never been separated from me. But the staff at Pennypot are very supportive
and kind, they had put all our worries to rest. We started 2-days a week for a month, and then 4-days a week, and now my son is going 5-days a week. We miss him terribly, but the good news is that he does not! He loves it at his nursery, all the staff adore him, and he's enjoying all the attention, love and care he’s getting. The staff take very good care of our baby, and they also keep posting pictures and observations every now then, which keep me and his Papa sane, as we get a glimpse of him playing, doing all sorts of fun activities and making friends! It's very reassuring and satisfying to see he’s so well settled there in just 3-months. We can't thank enough all the lovely ladies at Pennypot!

We have been extremely impressed with the quality of care our child has received over the last year. All of the staff at Pennypot were friendly, kind and welcoming from the outset, and this helped our child to quickly settle into a new routine. They provided daily updates and photos, which helped to
reassure us that our child was happy, enjoying a range of different play activities and very well looked after. Our child waves us off each morning with a big smile, which tells us all we need to know!

Since starting at Pennypot 18 months ago after his last nursery closed, we have been so happy with how well our son has settled and developed. The facilities for the preschool room are brilliant, especially the newly done outside area. However, since the Covid situation we have been even more impressed;
the communication from the office and the staff in the preschool room has been brilliant throughout and the return to nursery was well planned and seamlessly executed from our point of view. We really can’t recommend Pennypot enough.

We (parents and child) love Pennypot and will be terribly sad when our time there is up at the end of this year. We really appreciate all the staff and the exceptional environment there.
As an example, the support offered during the COVID-19 pandemic has been extraordinary, though absolutely within
the scope of the previous performance of Pennypot.

Pennypot Day Nursery is excellent. Since my son started there last year I have found all the staff to be friendly, approachable and really caring towards the children. My son absolutely loves going to this nursery! The variety of activities provided and the weekly menus are also great. The nursery has
a lovely feel about it and all the staff seem to know the children really well. I feel that my son's development has really accelerated since he started nursery, particularly his speech and social skills. I would highly recommend this nursery to any of my friends or family.

My daughter has attended Pennypot Day Nursery for just over a year now. She has struggled with drop-offs and adjusting to nursery life. I cannot thank the staff enough for how kind and understanding they have been, not only with my little girl but with us as well. It is the most difficult thing to leave
your child with someone else, but knowing she was cared so well for and given a cuddle when she needed reassurance meant the world to us. Every morning still to this day we are greeted with positive smiles and a great vibe throughout the whole nursery. I never feel like I am putting them out by calling to ask how her day is going, and being updated with photos via the app is the reassurance my wife needed going back to work. My daughter has flourished here, become more confident and outgoing. We have even started potty training and the staff are incredible, they have been so patient and have helped guide us through the process. In one word Pennypot is outstanding.

Can't speak highly enough of the team and the place. We visited six nurseries before putting our son in as PP (Pennypot) gave us the best feeling, we are so glad we did as it has not disappointed. The staff are so nice and we have really seen positive changes in our son since being there.

Me and my Fiancé absolutely love this nursery. All the team are fantastic and always happy and friendly. I love how the staff have helped develop our son and he has come such a long way. My son started in the preschool at Pennypot in September and we couldn't be happier. He has settled in so well and absolutely loves his time there.
He has developed so much in the past few months and the staff should take total credit for that. They make him feel so welcome and have really built his
confidence. His speech has also really excelled in this time.
Everyone is so friendly and knows my son by name, even if they don't teach in preschool.
The communication between Pennypot is excellent, always quick to respond to email/phone and the weekly newsletter is fantastic.
I couldn't recommend Pennypot highly enough. My only regret is that we didn't send my son there sooner. I am very happy that my daughter will also be starting next year when I finish maternity leave.

As an Early Years professional myself, choosing a nursery for my son was an extremely important decision. I couldn't be happier with our choice of Pennypot Day Nursery. The staff are all absolutely incredible. They pay such individual attention to all the children and have created a warm, nurturing
and stimulating environment. Our son loves going to nursery every day and often doesn't want to come home at the end of the day. As parents, we are fully informed of everything that has happened throughout the day, both in person and through the app. The activities the children do are varied and exciting. Planning is based on children's individual interests. My son loves playing outside and is able to explore the outdoor area whenever he chooses.
I would highly recommend Pennypot to anyone. It is a wonderful nursery.

Pennypot Nursery really has the lot: an excellent, caring team, excellent facilities and a stimulating environment. My daughter, who went from 15-months-old until she started school, absolutely loved her time there. I loved it too as I knew she was having a great time, the team couldn’t be nicer
or friendlier and the communication and level of info (not just written, but anecdotal too) meant that I knew they really knew her and she was getting such great care. I never worried about her when she was there. It has set her up so well for school. I’d highly recommend Pennypot, and can’t thank them enough!

Our son joined Pennypot Day Nursery when he was about 12 months old and his development since has been amazing! He’s so well cared for there by all the wonderful staff who I can’t speak highly enough of. They’re so kind and nurturing with the babies and children, it’s easy to see they love their jobs.
We looked at a few nurseries before deciding on Pennypot but I left them all feeling disappointed and a little anxious, as soon as I walked into Pennypot and saw all the happy, smiley faces of the staff and the professional manner in which they work I knew it was the perfect place for my son. He absolutely loves it there and has come on in leaps and bounds, there’s always something fun for him to do. I always enjoy hearing what he’s been up to when I go to pick him up and he eats all sorts of fab sounding food that he often has 2 portions of, much to my amusement. He’s safe there and that’s so important but I also know he’s having fun and that helps put my mind at ease when I’m missing him.

My daughter has only been at Pennypots since January and we are sad it wasn’t longer! She has absolutely loved her time at the nursery and as a parent, I have been delighted. The facilities, staff and learning activities are incredible. The outdoor space with the chicks were an amazing addition.

Our daughter joined Pennypot around 3 years ago and has just left to start school. She has loved it from the start and always been happy and genuinely looked forward to going.
We have always felt she is safe and been comfortable leaving her there mostly due to how much the team seem to care and make
an effort with all the children to make them feel special.
There have been a number of events organised by the team - we've not always been able to attend them all but a lot of effort went into the ones we saw.
We were impressed with the special subjects they teach the children, things like Titanic, recycling and the planets - the kids just soak it up and it's just one of the nice things that make the nursery so good.
Outdoor play has always been a big part but the new outdoor space is truly amazing and such a huge investment for the children. We are just sad we only got to use it for a few months. The mud kitchen and spaceship were a stand out favourite!

Our two children attend Pennypot Day Nursery, one in preschool and one in the baby room. I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing staff and the incredible facilities. Our preschooler is going to school with an abundance of confidence having had the most nurturing experience and our baby is so happy
to be greeted by all of the fabulous staff at drop off. No two days are the same and the children are encouraged to be independent and explore so many different activities but at the same time, they have the undivided attention of the staff. Every child is treated as an individual and their unique needs are met. This is our second nursery experience and Childbase is head and shoulders above the other main childcare providers as they genuinely care about their staff. We will miss terribly the interaction and safety net of the preschool teachers when our eldest starts school. We couldn’t have asked for a better settling in and transition period for our incredibly precious boys.

My son attended Pennypot from age one to three and a half. He was so well taken care of.
The staff are so friendly and everyone knows your child regardless of what room they’re in/what stage they are at. You can really tell the staff enjoy their work and love being with the children.
My son would
do such a variety of exercises at nursery - things I never would have thought up at home!

We sent our son to Pennypot Day Nursery, full time, Monday to Friday.
What a fabulous place to explore, learn and grow! What we liked the most was the amount of time the children can have playing outside, free-flow inside-outside, exceptionally clean and tidy rooms and the staff. The staff took such
good care of our son and from day one he settled so well with his dedicated key worker and we felt safe leaving him.
Children's learning and development plans are shared with the parents, photos of your child's day are uploaded regularly online and shared with parents/carers. We feel that the staff and the manager (who knew every child individually) encouraged our son to grow into a confident young person, able to communicate and express his opinions freely.
We highly recommend the nursery and wish everyone at Pennypot all the very best for the future.

Our daughters have both attended this nursery over the last 8 years and they have both really enjoyed it. As a parent, it always brought me great comfort knowing that our girls were being well cared for. Both girls attended from 6 months old and so worked their way up through the nursery, each room
bringing something new and progression, and they were both more than ready for school after their time in the preschool room. We are very grateful to all at Pennypot Chobham and will cherish the memories of our girls time there.

Joined: 2001

Carol is Manager of the award-winning Pennypot Day Nursery in Chobham and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the Early Years sector for 23 years. Carol has numerous qualifications, including a BA(Hons) Degree in Childcare & Education and Early Years Professional Status. In May 2022, Carol celebrates her 21st anniversary at Childbase Partnership.


What is your favourite feature of Pennypot?
I have many especially the large outdoor environment and fantastic rural location, as well as my amazing team.


What are you most proud of about your team?
Their passion and determination to constantly strive to improve outcomes for our children. We also have many long-serving staff members which is amazing.
