Your review came as a surprise given you stated you were withdrawing your daughter to send her to a nursery to guarantee her a place at your chosen school. We are disheartened to learn you feel our transition process is inadequate, equally, that you consider our communication with parents is virtually non-existent. Shortly after the room move, you attended parent’s evening which was followed up with a Teams meeting to further clarify how staff in the room support children’s needs and development. This was backed up with nigh on daily emails and phone conversations, our app and our social media pages, showing the various activities. We regret the tablet incident, used to calm your daughter with a few nursery rhymes, as this is not our normal practice. Our policy is for two practitioners to attend face-to-face meetings. Due to staffing ratios, which we must adhere to, we were not able to accommodate your request as, on the contrary, maintaining ratios is fundamental to our principles and to meeting children’s needs. We did offer a Teams meeting which was declined.

As a childcare provider, we understand your concern and are thankful you’ve acknowledged we took your concern seriously; children’s needs are of utmost importance to us. Whilst we do not give parents our policies, they are available upon request. For children with health needs, we complete care plans, which were discussed and agreed with you. Even so, we accept our various preventive measures let you down. We inspect all food items for allergens to use according to dietary needs. We followed up on the incident concerning oats whereby, having discarded the packaging, we looked on the website where it stated not suitable for milk allergy sufferers because this allergen is present in the environment. When we next purchased the oats, there was no warning on the packaging so we informed you as we felt it was important you knew this. We’ve now been assured the oats don’t contain milk. We’re deeply sorry our care standards have failed you as we strive to provide excellent standards of care.

In the Rainbow room, every day is different. They have stations set up so the children can move around freely joining in activities as they wish, the have free access in and out of the fantastic gardens that are secure, partially covered and very highly maintained.
They have a sensory room, a story room, interactive television, story headsets and every toy imaginable! The nursery is always clean, and seems very well organised. Staff seem happy and are very friendly.
Due to the location, the nursery also have access to the playground next door and the woodlands that adjoin the grounds. As the nursery manager is training to be a Forest School Leader, they are in the woods weekly, learning about animals, nature, woodlands as well as gardening and okaying games.
The nursery also have a minibus, that they use for trips out. My son has been to Beaver Water World, Nutfield Priory Farm nature trail, Glovers Woods and Santa’s grotto in the town. He, like all the children love the trips. In addition to trips out, the nursery also organise an annual visit from the local fire station, the fire fighters bring a fire engine and let the kids on board an spray the hoses, whilst learning about fires.
There is so much I haven’t even included, regular parents evenings, on-line secure learning journals that you can view and add to, summer Tea parties, fancy dress days, face painting, baking, Christmas Show, BBQ’s, the list could go on…
I would highly recommend this nursery. We see them as out extended family. My son calls it ‘Nursery home’ – Says it all!

a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 2.217 for Kids Capers Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (1 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 2.217
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
