The Nursery School Charlwood is a bespoke, thoughtfully designed nursery, set in a stunning early 17th century Tudor country house and gardens. Benefitting from a large custom garden and expansive on-site Forest School, The Nursery School Charlwood is a truly special place for children to develop during their early years.

The nursery's approach to early years education is inspired by a range of approaches, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori and over 20 years experience in running and owning nurseries. This has enabled the setting and its highly qualified educators to form a wonderfully creative curriculum.

The Nursery School Company passionately believes in offering children the broadest range of opportunities to allow them to unlock their true potential and to become confident, independent learners. The 'Enrichment Activities' programme includes language, sport and music lessons as well as many wonderful excursions to local farms, shops, fruit picking venues, sensory play sessions.

My boy has been going here since he was 8 months old. And has just left for school. Lovely place for a child to be brought up in.
The staff was like family to me and my son. Daily reports were spot on!


Would highly recommend them.

I enjoy dropping my son to nursery because he is always so happy to be there, which I think is such a great reflection of just how great it is at Charlwood House. The atmosphere is so positive and friendly, I have liked all of the staff who I have come across in the 2 years my son has attended there.
The nursery itself is lovely, and the garden in the summer is used to its full potential with the children still outside at home time. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone who wants their child to have their imagination fed, in a perfect environment, with personable and dedicated staff.

The staff are amazing, very knowledgeable and genuinely care about the children in their care. Grounds are amazing, my child loves being outside in the open space. They are always coming up with different activities for the children to do which they all love.

The date doesn’t go back as far as I need it to, however, both my children started their lives here and the experiences they had have been invaluable. There are no words for the care they received, just fantastic. This nursery will have a place in my heart forever.

Fantastic nursery! My daughter has just started school and she’d been at Charlwood House Day Nursery since she was 9 months old and they couldn’t have treated her better if they tried. She can’t eat dairy, yeast or sugar and the chef made meals especially for her. She’s got a really good sense of right
and wrong, has been encouraged to help others, and is completely ready for school (ticked off everything on their checklist) and I couldn’t recommend them more. Thank you all so much.

I have nothing but nice things to say about this nursery. My daughter left Charlwood House in 2015 and has gone on to do very well at school. I strongly believe that Charlwood House had a lot to do with this as has created a great platform for her to learn. My son has been there since he was a baby
and has just started pre-school where we are starting to see the same things. The staff are very friendly and both my children were always excited to go.
The outdoor area is amazing, allowing them to fully explore all the natural areas, as well as an adventure playground and mud kitchen.
I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough.

My eldest has just left Charlwood on to his big school and they have been amazing. They made such an effort for their leaving do, a bouncy castle party! They go the extra mile for them. My eldest has been going since he was 15 months and now my 2 year is there and he started at 9 months.
They are very
flexible with changing days.
One member of staff has been great my eldest and is always helping him with his speech and always asking what she can do to help!
Staff have always been very friendly and welcoming to me and my boys.

My son joined in October 2017 at nine months old. It's hard enough to leave your child and when they're crying for you not to leave. The nursery have been fantastic in dealing with the situation and also helped me with not getting upset. The staff are 100%, always happy and friendly and there is such
a great atmosphere in the nursery.
My son has come along so much by going here and learnt so much. I would highly recommend Charlwood Day Nursery.

My daughter attended and now my son. He’s two. Both started from an early age. I wouldn’t pick any other nursery. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. My son runs into nursery as he enjoys it so much.
Rota days are accommodated around my shift work, sometimes very last minute. My children
have progressed amazingly through the years and I can’t recommend the nursery enough. It’s run like a big family and go above and beyond to help.

Our little boy has attended Charlwood since he was 7 months old. And trialled at just 5 months old. The support we had from the staff in the baby room was amazing, especially as I struggled going back to work after having him. They are very caring and I could see my baby was getting all the love and
attention he needed.
He’s now 2 and has moved up to the next age group and has loved going in there. He's grown into a real outdoorsy child and the garden space is perfect for him to run around.
Would highly recommend this nursery.

Our daughter came to Charlwood House at 8.5 months old. Once we had our tour we knew that we would be happy and comfortable with the staff to look after our most precious thing.
In the 3 years that she has been at the nursery she has flourished. So many people comment on how kind, polite and clever
she is and this comes down to the nurturing she has had at nursery.
Throughout her time at nursery, we have been blessed to have had some of the most amazing key workers to focus on her development and growth.
She always runs up the path to get into her class, especially if her favourite teacher is at the door.
The staff at Charlwood House are always so willing to engage with us as parents and share snippets of her day. They literally love the children like their own.
We only have 1 year left with the amazing team and the thought of leaving already fills us with dread but thanks to the work of the team I know she will be just fine at Primary school next year. Cannot rate them highly enough.

My Daughter has been going to Charlwood House since she was 9 months old, she is now nearly 3! The nursery is great, teachers and staff are very friendly, and always give updates on her days when I collect. She gets to do lots of things she loves doing, she is also learning French! The main thing that
drew me to the nursery was the outdoor space, it's fantastic, and they try and go out as much as possible. I'd highly recommend the nursery.

All staff here very helpful and friendly, keep me up to date with how my son is doing and any issues are dealt with quickly. He has been poorly a few times and they have always called me to let me know how he is doing, has developed really well with his eating since going here too and the nursery always
seems to have a good array of toys and equipment for him to play with, kids always seem really happy !!

Our son has attended this for 18 months now since he was 1, and he loves it. He's developed so much thanks to the fantastic staff at Charlwood. We're sorry to be taking him out, but a job change forces this. The nursery has always been great, our son never wants for anything, and the feedback we
get from the staff is fantastic. The nursery is flexible, able to facilitate extra days when required and offering term time only care has saved us a fortune. The house and grounds are great, and we're happy that our son gets to play outside rain or shine!

My son has regularly attended Charlwood House 2 days a week since he was six months old. He is now in his third class. We have only had positive experiences in our dealings with the nursery. All the staff are caring and approachable and one can tell the children at the nursery are happy. Lots of activities
organised and my son always enjoys himself.

Fantastic nursery by far the best nursery around I felt comfortable in leaving my daughter in their care. The staff are very friendly and welcoming they spend lots of time doing activities, singing, reading, outside activities, I couldn't highly recommend them more.
