Eyrescroft Pre-School cares for children between the age of two and four years and was rated Good by Ofsted in June 2019.

The pre-school provides for two- to four-year-olds, offering spaces for children with funding entitlements. There are two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, during which children are provided with a healthy snack and milk and water. Children can stay for both sessions and parents are asked to provide a healthy packed lunch.

Activities at the pre-school are in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage to foster confidence and a love of learning through play.

My child started a few months ago and we can see remarkable differences in his communication skills. He has improved tremendously in cognitive and identifying objects of interest. We are truly happy for the opportunity he got to join this preschool. Would be pleased to recommend.

My son joined this preschool this September, and he has already learnt lots of things and I'm very impressed. Teachers are always lovely and encouraging, they help kids to improve. My son is upset when it's the holidays or a weekend because he wants to go to school every day, that only shows me how
well he has settled in and how much he enjoys here.
Biggest thank you to the managers and everyone else who looks after our kids like they would be their own. I just would agree about the roof of the outside waiting area - would be nice if that could be fixed.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased to provide such a homely, caring, and stimulating environment where your child can develop and grow. All the staff are dedicated to providing individual care and attention for every child. We are aware of the damage to the waiting area, which was caused by high winds and are seeking affordable solutions to repair it as soon as we can.

We are very happy that we choose this nursery for my three years old son. Staff's attitude is brilliant and my son really enjoyed spending his time there. Highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter really enjoys her preschool and I feel the staff are friendly and approachable.
I really like their way of teaching and my daughter is at ease whilst there.
I am comfortable leaving her in this care setting.
The only thing I would like to see improved is the outside area. Roof/shelter
needs to be fixed.
Overall a very good preschool.

My granddaughter had been at this nursery since she was 2. The setting is really welcoming and all the staff are fantastic with the children and parents. My granddaughter has learnt so much being in this nursery she's growing up to be a very clever little girl.

Ever since my daughter started a year ago, she has learnt so much, making friends and sharing toys and books. All of the staff are absolutely amazing with all of the children that attend the preschool. I couldn't have asked for anything better than for my daughter to be attending Eyrescroft Pre-school.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.917)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.917) out of 10 for Eyrescroft Early Years and Childcare Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.417 for Eyrescroft Early Years and Childcare Centre is calculated as follows: ( (21 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.417

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eyrescroft Early Years and Childcare Centre is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 number of registered child places is 12. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.25

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
