Happy Bunnies Nursery School Shepreth is proud to offer a holistic, child-centred approach to learning.

Funding & Fees Guide for Happy Bunnies Nursery School

  • Funded sessions are calculated by age group and will be introduced per Government plans. All
    children can currently access 15 hours of supported childcare, which can be used over 38 weeks
    of the year during school term time. From September 2025, Government plans change; further
    information can be found at
    https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
    Starting from September 2024:
    Children will be eligible for 15 hours of support, Sessions for funded hours are, 2 x 7.5 hrs days
    (0830 –1600). Monday- Friday. The funded hours can be topped up with additional paid access
    subject to application and availability.
    Where funded hours are used exclusively, a daily charge applies for consumables. In addition, if
    access is required for breakfast and tea clubs, as they are not included in Government-supported
    childcare options, charges are also applied. These are all subject applications and availability.
    Current charges are:
    Consumables £5:80 per day
    Optional charges
    Breakfast club (Access from 08:00-08:30) £8:50 per day
    Tea club (Access from 16:00-17:00) £10.60 per day
    Support options for additional days via Self-funded access:
    Where full-time all, year-round care is required, Government support hours can be allocated. over
    50 weeks, subject to application
    Children can access support from 0800-1700 Monday to Friday
    Charges applicable include a daily consumable cost, including the supply of nappies and access
    to Breakfast and Tea Club: Full-day session £106:30 per day
    Tax-free choices
    Parents who fund additional childcare support days may be able to access Tax-free childcare
    discounts, in addition to supported hours, options are detailed and available

I have found Happy Bunnies to be a great place for children to learn and play together. The leaders are very kind and attentive to each child. Our grandchild always comes home happy and full of chatter about how the day has gone when we pick up.

My son loves this nursery, he gets on so well with everybody and is always eager and excited to go. He has so much fun during all the activities that are planned.
The staff are friendly and communicate well when it comes to your child.

I have nothing but praise for Happy Bunnies. Our little boy settled in very quickly, thanks to the amazing staff making him feel cared for and nurtured. He is excited to go to nursery, and when he walks in he makes himself at home. He is an active little boy, and the staff keep him busy and stimulated.
It's so nice to see him happy when we drop him off, after he was very unhappy at a previous nursery.

My granddaughter started at the nursery in October.
She was barely talking and socialising. She has come a long way.
They focus on giving each and every child the confidence and ability to learn in a safe and comfortable setting.
She is now talking with confidence and has a great circle of friends.
In fact, she would like to take over the job of the staff.
The staff are superb and all work under the guidance of the owner.

My son has struggled with his speech a lot and since attending the nursery his speech has improved so much. They go on trips and walks which is great and do lots of development activities. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming to both me and my son and also very understanding.

Wonderful nursery, couldn’t be happier with it. Moved our child here from a big chain and she has thrived.
The staff are warm and attentive, and reassuringly confident. There’s clearly a great deal of thought going into creating opportunities for the children to learn.
They’re constantly outside in
the village, and as a bonus, they all have tickets to the nearby wildlife park so more often than not my daughter comes home “Daddy we saw the tiger!”.

My 19-month-old daughter attends this nursery. She’s been attending for 2 months now and really enjoys it, in fact, she doesn’t even want to come home!
The staff are really lovely, very welcoming and very understanding of children’s development.
As a dad, I wouldn't normally be part of choosing
a nursery and would have the dreaded feeling of awkwardness at drop off and pick up but I felt very involved and welcomed by the manager and his team.
I love the app to see what my daughter gets up to and all the details I wouldn’t normally ask the staff about, but the wife would want to know about such as how long she napped for!
I wholly recommend this nursery for children!

Initially apprehensive having tried another, we love Happy Bunnies.
The manager is a fab ambassador for Happy Bunnies and put me at ease but more importantly my just 3-year-old! He easily answered my questions and concerns before I asked on our trial visit. The staff are clearly child-focussed. They
pay attention to the fantastic individuals the children are and quickly got to know my little girl. Only going two days she’s settled in well and loves telling me stories about her day with her friends. She loves singing songs she’s learned.
They are so welcoming in the mornings and happy to chat at the end about the day, which means so much when you have a tired child. A homely environment for preschool is fab and a perfect learning environment for littlies. Going outside twice a day or the little trips is great and my daughter enjoys telling me ‘I went there (pointing to the Hedgehog Hospital), we saw hedgehogs.'
I wholeheartedly recommend to others looking for childcare.

Amazing nursery! Highly recommended, the staff are just amazing, I couldn't fault them at all. They're all so kind and caring. My little girl just slotted right in here and couldn't be happier. They have so many different things to do here, from ballet to learning French! The staff and management always

My 3-year-old son started at Happy Bunnies in September 2023 and is absolutely loving it. When you walk into the school, you immediately get that warm family feeling. I know that my son is well looked after and cared for by individuals who have a passion for children. It really is a home away from home

My daughter has been here for the last 12 months, and she is doing amazing. The nursery was taken over by a new owner at the beginning of the year, and lots of changes have happened for the better.
My daughter has a great time whilst she is there, and all of the staff are very attentive.

My little one started just a few weeks ago and we are happy. The staff is very friendly and is a warming setting. I like that they use the app to give updates during the day. I hope they start also sending daily pictures of the kids via the app and information on what they eat/quantity.

I have been blown away by Happy Bunnies! After working in childcare myself previously I knew what to look out for in a good nursery. However Happy Bunnies is not just a good nursery. They are an amazing nursery.
The staff are professional yet relatable. My child has settled very quickly. She feels
comfortable and excited to attend. In the short time she has been there she is flourishing. The nursery take regular walks and visits around the village including to the local wildlife park. The activities they provide help the children learn and develop. Their routines mean the children feel secure and know what’s happening within their day.
Management are knowledgeable with qualifications and experience, and even better hands on with the children and staff.
I would 100% recommend Happy Bunnies to any parents with a child aged 1 year to 4 years.

The manager and his team are truly passionate about the well-being of my little one. They have a calming facility that allows for plenty of play, exploring and learning. Rob's journey in the early years sector began after qualifying as a Level 3 Nursery Assistant. With a wealth of experience in top independent schools in Cambridge, London, and even abroad, Rob has gained valuable insights and knowledge in the field of early childhood development.


One of Rob's core beliefs is that every child deserves the best support to help them achieve their fullest potential. Sam Hamlet is joining our Happy Bunnies Nursery team as the new preschool lead. Sam is super passionate about working with little ones and truly respects each child as a unique individual.


Sam is amazing at personalising learning to suit each child's needs. They know that observing kids and engaging with them helps in planning on the spot, ensuring every child reaches their next milestones.


Sam puts a lot of emphasis on building good relationships with both families and children as they believe it's crucial for a child's development. With loads of experience, Sam creates engaging environments that promote independence and confidence in children.


She has worked in various schools and settings in the UK and abroad, transforming spaces into interactive environments based on children's interests. Sam's hands-on approach ensures a safe and stimulating environment where kids can ask questions, explore, and take on challenges.

Aside from her role as a practitioner, Sam mentors other educators, supporting their professional growth through coaching and mentoring. They believe in having open and honest relationships with their colleagues and enjoy being a supportive team member.


Sam is always eager to learn and improve, drawing inspiration from educators worldwide. She is competent in exploring innovative techniques to enhance their teaching and learning environments, always striving to support all the children in her care.


Sam values children's involvement in shaping the learning space, giving them ownership over changes and engaging them in various activities.

This approach empowers kids and helps them take responsibility for their learning journey.


Fun fact - Sam is not just a dedicated practitioner but also a parent to three grown-up children. They understand that each child is unique in their learning journey and career path.


Outside of work, Sam enjoys cold water swimming, running, cooking, hiking, camping, and travelling in their self-built campervan with her partner.

Charlotte Hurry

Job Title: Early Years Practitioner Level 2 Qualification

Meet Charlotte, the incredible member of our Happy Bunnies team! With 2 years of experience at our nursery, she's an absolute gem, spreading joy wherever she goes.


Charlotte holds a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and is currently studying for her Level 2 in Childcare. Her dedication to expanding her knowledge shows her commitment to providing our little ones with the best care and education possible.


As an apprentice practitioner, Charlotte primarily works alongside our pre-schoolers, but she's always ready to lend a helping hand with the younger ones too. Her versatility and willingness to support demonstrate her passion and dedication to the development and well-being of all our Happy Bunnies.


Not only is Charlotte a superstar at work, but she's also a loving parent to a fabulous 7-year-old son. Together, they love exploring the park, movie adventures at the cinema, and cherishing precious moments with family and friends.

Lisa Hubbard

Job Title: Apprentice Level 3

With 40 years of experience working with children under her belt, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and a sparkle of joy to our little ones' lives.


From the moment Lisa graduated from Ballet school, her passion for working with children took flight. She graced the stage and dazzled in the children's entertainment sector, but her journey didn't stop there!


As her own beautiful family began to grow (she's now a proud mom of 5!), Lisa decided to follow her dreams and founded her own ballet and dance school. With boundless energy and creativity, she taught children from the age of 3, fostering their love for movement and expression.


During her impressive 30-year tenure at her dance school, Lisa took the time to regularly visit nursery schools in Cambridgeshire, sharing her passion for Music, Movement, and Mime with the little ones. It was during this time that fate brought her to the Happy Bunnies team, and we are forever grateful.


Since 2007, Lisa has been an invaluable member of our team, serving as a dedicated childcare practitioner and a brilliant Music in Movement teacher. Her commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment for our little bunnies shines through in everything she does.


Outside of her incredible work at Happy Bunnies, Lisa finds solace and joy in spending time with her beloved horses, dogs, children, and her precious grandson.


Her love for family and her connection with nature is truly inspiring, and our little bunnies are lucky to have her guiding them every step of the way.

Becca Wasyliw

We are delighted to introduce Becca Wasyliw, the newest addition to our team. With her extensive experience and passion for childcare, she will be a wonderful asset to the Happy Bunnies family. Becca has a Level 3 qualification and has worked in nursery settings and as a nanny for multiple families. She has cared for newborns up to 13-year-olds and currently works as a before and after school nanny.


One of Becca's standout qualities is her love for the outdoors and her enthusiastic participation in children's play. She values child-led play and encourages young ones to explore and grow independently. Outside of work, Becca is a loving mother to a 5-year-old son and enjoys spending time outdoors. Her personal experiences as a parent enrich her understanding and connection with the children under her care.

Outside of Happy Bunnies, Elaine enjoys curling up with a good book, tending her garden, and cherishing precious moments with her family and friends. Danii Chamberlain

Job Title: Level 3 Trainee Nursery Assistant

I am thrilled to introduce you to Danii! She is joining us as a nursery assistant at Happy Bunnies, and we couldn't be more excited to have her on board.


Danii is a dedicated mother of three wonderful children, all aged under 4. She knows the joys and challenges of parenting firsthand, and this experience has given her a deep understanding of the needs of young children. She brings this knowledge and empathy into her role at Happy Bunnies, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for our little ones.


Danii has been assisting at Happy Bunnies since the Summer term of 2023, and from day one, she has shown a genuine passion for her work. Starting in September, she will also be undertaking her Level 3 Course in Early Years, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in childcare. We are thrilled to support her in this endeavour and know that she will continuously bring new and innovative ideas to our program.


One of Danii's greatest strengths is her caring and bubbly personality. She truly enjoys helping others and creating a positive atmosphere for children to learn and grow. Danii's main goal is to teach important life skills and create meaningful memories that your children will cherish for years to come.

Beverly Harding

Job Title: NNEB Level 3 Nursery Nurse

Introducing Beverley, one of our incredible bank staff members at Happy Bunnies Nursery School Shepreth!


With 30 years of experience as a nanny, Beverley's passion for working with children began at a young age. Inspired by Mary Poppins, her all-time favourite film, she knew that being a nanny was her calling.


Beverley's dedication to her profession is evident through her educational achievements. She achieved a B grade in her Child Development GCSE and pursued further qualifications at 16, becoming NNEB qualified. Since then, she has been joyfully nannying and sharing her expertise with families. Her experience shines through in her work at Happy Bunnies!


At our nursery, Beverley brings her expertise and enthusiasm to the preschool children she works with. She loves being involved with both older and younger children, helping them reach their full potential. The contrast between her work at the nursery and her nanny position adds a wonderful balance to her life. ??


Outside of work, Beverley has a variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoys curling up with a good book, exploring National Trust and English Heritage places with her family, and even researching her own family tree.


Besides these activities, she has a passion for sailing yachts and holds the qualification of a fully qualified day Skipper! Her adventurous spirit also takes her on globetrotting expeditions. From exploring local gems in this country, Ireland, and Spain to venturing to far-off lands like Thailand, Borneo, Kenya, India, and Nepal, Beverley's travels have allowed her to immerse herself in amazing wildlife experiences. She has been on thrilling safaris in Kenya, embraced the opportunity to ride bareback on elephants in Nepal, and trekked through the Borneo jungle to witness the incredible orangutans.


Beverley's own 7-year-old son keeps her busy and brings immense joy to her life. Additionally, over the past two years, she has dedicated one morning a week to volunteering at her son's school, where she listens to children read and offers assistance with their work. Her commitment to education and supporting children's development extends beyond her professional life.


We are delighted to have Beverley on our team at Happy Bunnies Nursery School. Her wealth of experience, genuine care, and adventurous spirit make her an incredible asset to our community.
