I have been very impressed by the standard of the nursery, particularly the commitment and dedication of the staff. My child has developed well and feels very comfortable with the people who are looking after her. At the end of her first year, we were shown a report of her progress which was filled
with daily observational notes by her keyworker and a scrapbook compiling some of the highlights during the year. I could not help but notice how attentive the staff are to my child's needs and progress. For a moment I thought it was a secondary school report!


As for the facilities and general resources, I personally think it is one of the better ones in the area, if not the best. It is clean, well organised and has plenty of equipment lying around.

We couldn't be happier with long road nursery. They have been excellent at settling in my children. Nothing seems to much trouble. The staff are friendly and seem to really get to know the children. We would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My daughter loves going to nursery, she adores all the staff within her room and has come on so much since attending. Before she started the nursery she was unable to speak and in a short amount of time she is now speaking like most of the children her age.

My granddaughter attended the nursery over the summer period as she had started school and it's hard to get childcare in the summer. It made it so easy for us to have the opening hours from 7am until 6pm if needed.
The staff are very caring and always making an effort to keep her fully occupied. She
comes home talking about their very own Olympics and having a gold medal for their achievements. Very good nursery and she has also told me that our home food needs to be like nursery.

Our two sons attend Long Road Nursery and we are very happy with the care they receive and would definitely recommend this nursery to others.


All staff are friendly and supportive, our boys are happy, do a wide variety of activities and have developed good social skills. The facilities are great

and new play equipment seems to appear regularly. The new book library is a lovely addition. Food is balanced and fresh, and there is lots of outside play time. Parent feedback is listened to and acted upon. And we really appreciate the sensible and practical attitude to inevitable childhood illness - staff do give medicine when needed and exclusion periods are sensible.

The staff at Long Road are very attentive to my 18 month old son's needs. I cannot praise his key worker enough, feel lucky to have her looking after him. He settled in very quickly and enjoys all of his days there. There are a wide range of toys to play with and also guided activities to do.

I think that the nursery is well organized and I am always surprised by how much my daughter picks up at the nursery. At the nursery they started with the growing readers and growing mathematician programs and since they have started this I have seen an enormous step forward in my Daughter. The other
day she wrote a few words and my daughter copied them, she came to show it to me and said mummy I think you will be so proud of me, and indeed I was, I was amazed by how good it was.

My daughter really seems to love it at the nursery.

My daughter has been in the nursery since she was around 2 years old and she is so happy.
All staff is wonderful and make sure children are happy and safe. The manager is outstanding.
Facilities are very good and food as well.

KU Long Road has been a fantastic nursery for our son. He only attends a day a week and they did not hesitate to take extra care to help him settle in. They are fantastic when it comes to dealing with issues in their care. I am always kept informed and they will always do their best to manage illnesses
with care (i.e. natural cooling down before they call to ask if they can administer calpol, advising of illnesses going around) and take ownership of the care - as opposed to many friends who get called at the sight of a sniffle. Each unit has their own room and garden space that they are free to roam. Shoes are not allowed in the 'baby' room but are in all other rooms - which is practical for toddlers running in and out. They have a strict policy in regards to allergies and meal times.
The staff are all friendly and always know the parents associated with each child. We haven't had much exposure to an ongoing curriculum but I get a weekly email with the menu and the activities.

I am very happy with the service that this nursery provides. The management team are efficient and always happy to help. The nursery staff are very caring and always have time to listen to the parents. They also form excellent relationships with the children they care for. My little boy enjoys nursery

Jess

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Jess the Nursery Manager embarked on her journey with the nursery in November 2005. Starting as a Deputy Manager at Long Road, she diligently worked her way up within Bright Horizons. In November 2011, she transitioned to Ely Day Nursery, continuing her role as Deputy. Demonstrating her strong leadership skills, she assumed the position of Nursery Manager at Ely in November 2012, where the nursery achieved an outstanding Ofsted report in December 2017.

Despite her success at Ely, her heart remained with Long Road. In August 2021, Jess returned as the Nursery Manager, driven by her unwavering passion to provide the best for children. Her commitment lies in empowering children with the skills to navigate through life successfully.

Jess thrives on the close collaboration with families and staff, striving to achieve optimal outcomes for all involved and we are proud to have her as part of our team.

Shannon

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Shannon, the Deputy Manager, began her career at the nursery in September 2014. Starting as a newly qualified Nursery Nurse in the toddler room, she delved into the childcare industry.

In this role, Shannon has developed a foundation for understanding and knowledge of children and young people, emphasising their learning and developmental processes. Shannon's focus was on crafting an enabling environment and pushing the boundaries to challenge the children within their care to achieve their utmost potential while prioritising safety and care needs.

With time and dedication, Shannon transitioned to the role of Deputy Room Leader, collaborating closely with the Room Leader to bolster the team and environment.

In January 2020, Shannon's journey was promoted to the esteemed position of Deputy Manager. In this role, she expanded her understanding of Bright Horizons' heart values, while fostering the growth of her team. Shannon now stands as a beacon of experience and knowledge, poised to guide others on their paths to success.
