Chestnut Nursery St. Giles offers a wealth of childcare services that are not necessarily provided at other Schools. They are very fortunate to have an in-house chef, cooking fresh, locally-sourced meals daily for the children. They have fantastic equipment within the listed facility and, as with all Chestnut Nursery Schools, they follow a forest school ethos within their core curriculum. Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles has been a fantastic start to our son's time at nursery. Our son started at 12 months and was going in four days a week and, like many first-time parents, we were nervous and anxious about this next chapter. However, the team leads were amazing at listening
to all of our concerns and were able to accommodate all of our requests, including and not limited to little things like lots of cuddles, extra moisturisation when changing nappies and keeping his bib dry. The proof of their great care and attention was how quickly our son was able to settle, adapt and enjoy going to nursery! We would highly recommend this nursery and encourage any first-time parents to be vocal about their child's needs as the nursery is so good at taking this into account and making sure your child enjoys and thrives in their care.

St Giles Nursery is such a wonderful place and environment for little ones to be in. My little one has learnt so much, is so confident and so smiley every day. Thank you to everyone. You are always more than happy to help and support parents as well as the children. The rooms are well equipped with

My little boy started in August 2022 aged 13 months. At first, I was slightly worried about the outdoor space as it is quite small for the babies and there were some elements that looked like it could be refurbished in the little garden. However, my son has loved playing in it and I realised now you
don't necessarily need a lot of space for the babies outdoors. Care and learning have been fantastic, all the staff have been brilliant and my son loves the food. I feel his speech and personality have come on a lot more since starting nursery. The only downside I would say is that we don't get a lot of photos posted on the app, especially in the early days when he first started as it would have been more reassuring but this is the only negative, we are loving the nursery.

My daughter has been attending ST Giles for over a year now. And wow. She has been taught so many amazing things and has been so, so supported. We struggled with separation anxiety, potty training and everything you can imagine and the team in the Willow room especially made sure I was heard and catered

My son attended Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles for over six months, from when he was 11 months to 18 months. He had a wonderful time there. The only reason we moved him to another nursery was because we wanted an outdoor nursery with forest school.
The staff are amazing at St Giles. Very
good communication skills and so friendly and above all very caring and loving! He loved his time there.

Our son has attended Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles since January 2020 and we are extremely happy with every single aspect of his care. He started when he was 2 and we had never left him with anyone else for more than 2/3 hours. That means we were very anxious about him starting nursery
as we had no idea how he would react.
The team was amazing and arranged for settling in sessions for 5 days - that gave us a week to actually sit with him in his room and made the whole transition so much smoother. It made us feel so at ease because we had the opportunity to actually see how the staff is around children, what sort of activities they do, what sort of food they eat, cleaning standards, etc.
Our son is bilingual, when he started 1 year ago he could only say a handful of English words, he is now 3 and a half and pretty much fluent on both English and Portuguese, and all the English came from school!
There's daily app updates on meals, pictures, activities, etc.
A massive thank you to everyone for being so amazing!

We are happy to have sent our daughter to Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles. The staff are lovely and caring whilst professional, organised and keen to encourage the children to flourish. The food they provide is varied and healthy. They are in an excellent, city-centre location which suits
us very well, and their various rooms are well-resourced. The Parentzone app is a great way to keep up with how our child is getting on in the day, and they update it regularly throughout the day. We remember the worried feeling of sending our little daughter to nursery for the first time, but we are glad that we've chosen St Giles nursery as they have put our fears at ease.

Both our sons attend Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles and are extremely happy there. The staff are always helpful, professional and polite and always have a happy, welcoming face for the children. The space is compact but pleasant. Both my children seem happy and stimulated by their days
spent at the nursery. I would also like to say how well and sensitively the staff have managed all the changes and safeguarding measures that have had to be put in place as a result of Covid.

This nursery is absolutely lovely. My daughter is so happy and cannot wait to go to 'school' every morning.
The staff are very supportive and have excellent knowledge of child development and how to support learning and engagement. I feel they know my daughter and understand her needs very well.
The
nursery always has a great range of activities on offer, with a mix of child-led and adult-directed. The staff maintain the resources and the environment to a very high standard, which is not an easy task I'm sure.
I would not hesitate to recommend Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles, such a special place.

Our 2 boys are currently attending Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Giles, our oldest started in early 2020 and our youngest started last September. We are really satisfied with the service provided and the professionalism of the staff and management; this has been especially notable during Covid
times. The staff show a keen interest in the wellbeing of the kids and the feedback is always useful. Kids are also very well catered for with a wide ranging menu. We would certainly recommend this nursery.

Our son has been at the nursery since he was 9 months and is now in the preschool room so you can see we are extremely happy with the nursery! As he has progressed and moved rooms the staff have always built up a great relationship with him which has reassured both him and us each time he moved up.
His confidence has definitely grown and they have also helped with his development in the activities they do and encourage. The staff are all fantastic and warm and welcoming and he loves to go to nursery which is the biggest testament to the environment they have created.

My twin sons have attended this nursery from 10 months old - they are now 18 months. My experience throughout that time has been excellent. The staff take huge care to help the children settle and to really get to know the children. It feels like a really genuine, passionate set of people working there
who want the best for the kids in their care, and where genuine bonds are formed between the kids and their nursery staff. Throughout lockdown, the nursery has also been great - careful and very clear about what is required without losing that personal touch. I'm so glad I chose this nursery for my boys.

The staff at this nursery are wonderful. The setting is handily central and strikes the right balance of being secure but welcoming, homely but stimulating and somewhere to learn. Our two children were very happy here until the COVID lockdown in March 2020.
What let the place down though was an inconsistent
approach to reporting back to parents about learning and development outputs and outcomes. Other nurseries communicate weekly progress reports by email, this one sends links for such information occasionally. The transition report for the school that our daughter went onto contained no information to assist in her nursery based developments or achievements to date. Compared to the reams of information that other nurseries passed on regarding classmates, this was a threadbare, half-hearted tickbox exercise that went only as far as revealing a favourite book.
As we say though, the staff are great and positive developments in our children did take place.

I would not hesitate to recommend Chestnut St Giles. Our daughter has been attending since she was nine months old, and there years later she still loves every day she attends. The staff are so caring and keep us well informed. They do lots of lovely activities and eat a well-balanced diet. Our daughter

Job Title: Nursery Manager

My name is Hayley, and I am the Manager at Chestnut Nursery School St Giles. I have been working in childcare since I left college where I earned my Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce, studying the development of children aged 0-19. I started working as a childcare practitioner at St Giles Nursery in 2014, which became Chestnut Nursery School St Giles in 2015. I progressed to Room Leader and travelled around the age ranges in this role. From there I became the Senior Lead Practitioner, and Deputy Manager and finally progressed to Manager in 2020.


I wanted to work with children since I was a child myself, so I am honoured to have such an important role in childcare now. As the Manager of St Giles, I enjoy being involved in the planning of activities and rooms to ensure children are provided with a stimulating environment for them to learn and flourish. I believe giving children the best start to early years will help them to reach their full potential and scaffold their learning ready for school. I have two young children of my own, this helps me relate to our families and understand the importance of taking extra special care of each and every child in our setting
