A welcoming and inspiring nursery in Great Cornard.

Situated in a purpose-built building and located close to Thomas Gainsborough School, off the Wells Hall Road, Great Cornard Day Nursery and Preschool supports and cares for children from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

Each spacious and homely room has been designed to inspire learning at every opportunity. Children enjoy using the building blocks, painting in the art area, discovering how the world works with science experiments, using the indoor climbing frames, reading in the book corner and playing exciting word and number games. There is a sensory room for use by all ages, where children can relax while learning about different sounds and textures. Every feature is designed to inspire children’s natural curiosity and use their interests as the basis for learning.

Outdoors, Great Cornard nursery features separate age-appropriate gardens with space for the children to play and develop their gross motor skills. Favourites include the slide, balance equipment and the covered outdoor seating area.

Bright Horizons unique Healthy Hearts and Minds activities provide inspirational and engaging learning experiences using the innovative and well-established Boogie Mites active music-making programmes.

All-inclusive fees mean that you have less to pack on a busy morning, with everything from healthy lunches and snacks to branded nappies and wipes included.

My children are very happy at nursery. They are both so eager to enter their rooms in the morning that it is clear that they are well taken care of. The staff often organise activities to cater for their specific learning needs and development. Information about their day/ learning is communicated effectively
through the app. Detailed handovers from staff often reveal a sense of their attention and care. Overall, I am very happy with the care my children are receiving.

My little boy started here in September at 10 months old. I was so worried about leaving him whilst I was at work but the staff in the baby room are absolutely amazing. We did a few settling in sessions so he could get used to his key person and the other staff.
The nursery manager and admin team
are really helpful and were flexible when booking settling in sessions. They can help with navigating the government funding too.
My little boy started off as a vegetarian and the nursery was able to accommodate that but now he has a huge range of foods and always tries new things.
The app is brilliant and I love being able to see what he has been up to during the day, the photos are wonderful to see too.
I honestly am so happy we chose to send our son here, staff are caring, cheerful, professional and knowledgeable ( most have worked there a long time) and I know my son has the best time here!

My baby joined Bright Horizons Great Cornard Day Nursery and Preschool last month and I am so pleased with how well he has settled in such a short space of time. The staff are kind and nurturing and I can tell that they genuinely care for the children they look after, which is a massive relief as it's
not just a huge transition for my son starting nursery, but for myself as well. I know that I can leave him in their care knowing he is thoroughly looked after. The activities they offer are age appropriate and I have already received several observations that have been carried out tracking his development. Thank you Panda room!

Our son started Bright Horizons Great Cornard Day Nursery and Preschool at 7 months old and has always been happy at the nursery. His key person and him have a great bond and he's always smiley going into and leaving nursery. The meals are very healthy and they have lots of activities to keep them entertained
throughout the day.

My Son has been in the baby room Pandas at Bright Horizons in Great Cornard since he was 7 months old and is 16 months and now about to start his journey to the second room, Penguins. He has loved being in the baby room, from the start of his nursery journey, all the staff are so caring and really help
you and your baby transition into nursery life and their new routine. He goes in every morning excited and happy and has really bonded with all the nursery staff in the Pandas room. My son has really developed skills from being at this nursery, from sitting, and crawling to walking, eating and drinking on his own and loves the food, to learning words and chatting. My son has made friendships and loves all the fun activities they do throughout each day. My son always comes out of nursery happy with a big smile on his face. You can really tell all the staff in the Panda Room love their jobs and really care about your child. You could not ask for a better nursery.

My son recently started at Bright Horizons Great Cornard Day Nursery and Preschool in the baby room and I am so pleased I chose this nursery. The staff are absolutely wonderful. The team in the baby room and my son's key person are so sweet and caring. They really went the extra mile to make sure his
transition into childcare was as smooth and comfortable as possible, with regular updates along the way. The app is great, I always enjoy seeing my son smiling and playing in the pictures. You can tell the children really enjoy it there - my son always has a smile on his face when I pick him up. Would highly recommend this nursery!

Had two children attend Bright Horizon, the eldest has now left and was only in the oldest class. Amazing experience for her, the staff were brilliant with her and made her transition feel really comfortable. Our 2nd child is currently still at Bright Horizon and has gone through various different classes.
Again, all transitions throughout the different classes have been so smooth. The staff have always kept us updated with some really detailed reports and conversations during pick-ups. All staff at Bright Horizon are amazing; it's not just speaking to our child's key worker when doing pick-ups, all staff members have a chat, which makes it feel more like a family-run nursery. We originally chose Bright Horizon due to the convenience of location, but if I'd known what I know now about it, it wouldn't matter if I was driving miles to go here, as it's a brilliant nursery all-round!

The nursery has been amazing and we really cannot fault it. They made the transition for our little one with such ease and he loves it! You can tell by the updates and the pictures on the app how happy he is, making new friends and learning all different skills. The staff are always so lovely and friendly
and have been open to answering my questions/giving advice. Which as a first-time mum is always gratefully received. So glad we found such a great nursery.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for seven months now and is absolutely smashing her milestones.
From the very first day, she has gone in every time with huge smiles on her face and open arms for all the staff. As a first-time parent, this is the biggest reassurance and exactly what I needed
returning back to work.
I love the daily updates whilst she's at nursery and also the work and observations that her key worker does with her on her learning journey.
I was a little hesitant about getting my daughter onto solids and different foods, but with the amazing food that is given to her and the helpful staff, they have made it so easy to follow at home, and my daughter is now a fantastic eater.
I have nothing but praise for this nursery and am excited to watch my daughter grow and achieve more life skills whilst in their care.

My son has been going to Bright Horizons since November 2023 and settled in quickly thanks to the friendly staff making him feel at ease. The staff have maintained his routine well and keep in touch via the app, this has been very reassuring for me, it is also a great tool for keeping track of his personal
progress. The activities vary daily with a great mix of books/sensory toys as well as a secure outdoor space to explore in. I have and will continue to recommend this nursery to my friends and colleagues. Thank you for making my transition back to work as easy as possible.

My child is always happy and excited to be going to nursery in the morning. The nursery staff are very friendly and supportive and have built a lovely bond with my child. I'm always pleased to see the activities he's been up to, there's often lots of variation between play, education and creativity.
Altogether I've had a really positive experience with the nursery and will happily sing its praises to anyone looking for daycare for their child.

My daughter has been going to Bright Horizons Great Cornard for just over two years. The nursery is fantastic, the staff are friendly and really care about the children they look after. They have educational toys in every room as well as an outside play area for every room too. The app they use is great,
you can view what your child has had to eat that day and how much, pictures from the day and observations. Both on the app and in person you get so much detail from the staff of what your child has been up to. It’s been so lovely watching my daughter develop and enjoy spending time with the other children and the staff. The staff work with the children so much to help get them ready for primary school and are happy to talk about the areas that your child excels in as well as the ones they need more help with. Highly recommend.

My daughter attends this setting and she asks me every night if she is going to nursery tomorrow. She is able to express her thoughts and ideas at nursery and the practitioners enhance these by creating activities based around her interests. The nursery has a fantastic sensory room for children to relax
and explore and high-quality chefs on-site that create healthy, wholesome meals for the children. My daughter tells me she only likes nursery crumble. Everyone is very welcoming and the managers made the signing-up process easy. Thank you Bright Horizons Great Cornard Day Nursery and Preschool.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

I am the Nursery Manager for Great Cornard Bright Horizons and I have been working in childcare since 1998.

Prior to working here, I worked at another nursery in the baby room and then I worked at a private school, running the baby unit. My career here started as a Room Leader working in a baby room. I was promoted to Nursery Manager after having my second child. I have been working at Bright Horizons Great Cornard since 2003, becoming manager in 2008. I have a Level 4 Qualification in Early Years Practice and have completed my Customer Services NVQ 2 qualification. I am passionate about my 3 children and my weekends consist of taking the boys to football and rugby. I enjoy socialising and meals out with friends and family.

I am the Nursery Deputy Manager for Great Cornard Bright Horizons. I have been working in childcare since 2014 and started my journey here at Great Cornard Bright Horizons in 2020 as a Nursery Nurse.

After 8 months I was promoted to Room Leader, then after 2 years in 2022 I was promoted to Deputy Manager. I have a Level 3 in Children’s Play, Learning and Development, and a Level 4 qualification in Early Years.
