A WELCOMING AND ENRICHING NURSERY IN BURY ST EDMUNDS

The spacious Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool combines excellent facilities with caring, experienced staff to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.
Each light and airy room has an array of fun and educational resources to encourage curiosity and development. Children are inspired to learn through exploration and play, so babies discover new textures, sounds and sights with sensory play, and exciting music and movement sessions. Older children stretch their imagination in the role-play area, and employ critical thinking skills while playing with loose parts or constructing with building blocks.

All rooms at Bury St Edmunds nursery have freeflow access to the large multi-surfaced garden, giving children the option to enjoy nature at any time. Children love the wide-open space, balancing tyres and climbing frame. Younger children have a separate garden with soft flooring and a smaller climbing frame to help build their muscles and encourage their physical development.

The unique Ready for School programme supports children in their transition to primary school. They learn the basics of early reading, writing and mathematics, alongside creative pursuits in the nursery's Creative Cooks and Growing Artists enhancements. The team also teaches children to self-serve at mealtimes, use cutlery, make friendships and work together. The holistic approach to both academic and life skills helps children to develop confidence and interest in a wide range of areas.

The staff are amazing. They make my son feel so welcome every time he arrives. They are warm, friendly and helpful. They always inform me about his day and are happy to answer any questions I might have. They upload observations on the app and plan next steps to further develop learning, which is great.
There are lots of resources and activities on offer and all the staff are so engaging. You can tell how passionate they are in their work and my husband and I appreciate everything they do for our son. He loves it there!

My daughter has been at the nursery for a year and she loves it. The staff are extremly attentive and friendly. They work very hard and it's clear they are passionate about their role in supporting the development of our daughter. I feel happy knowing my daughter is safe and cared for whilst I'm at
work and her Key worker has been brilliant in providing us updates. We considered moving our daughter to a preschool as she's nearly 3 but because she enjoys the nursery and has a great relationship with the staff we've decided to keep her at Bright Horizons until she starts school. The nursery is great, but it's the staff that make it brilliant.

My 2 year old loves nursery. She started at 11 months and settled in really quickly thanks to the kind staff. She is happy to go and always happy when she is picked up. The nursery is great for her communication skills and she always comes home very chatty. She loves being able to do the things she

A wonderful nursery. My daughter has been there since she was 8 months old and she has always been settled, calm and well-connected to the staff there. They have always followed her lead, allowing her to choose her key people for example and have fostered her sense of self and independence. She has
grown so much in confidence and ability since being at this nursery and she gets excited each day to go and see her friends and the staff there.
Facilities are always clean, well-maintained and abundant.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery.
It certainly isn't cheap to send children here, but I believe this is true for all nursery settings and is a reflection of our government support, not the nursery.

My son adores nursery, usually you get the odd exceptional member of staff but there is not one person who isn't amazing, they care for the children so well and really take the time to understand them and help process thoughts and feelings. We are so lucky to have found them!

Our son has attended this nursery for 2 years now, initially for 3 days and now for 4 days. He absolutely loves it and we have been so happy with the quality of care provided and the variety of activities offered. His confidence, language and behaviour have developed greatly and he has a lovely rapport
with the nursery staff, who are all very warm and engaging. The two ladies are excellent managers and have always been helpful and kind whenever we've needed support.

It's such a shame I can't mention names as there are two people at this nursery who I just adore! Since we joined in November they have been amazing and make my son smile every single day! He loves being there so much and has created such a lovely bond with his key worker! The deputy manager onsite
always makes time for my daughter who does not even attend there! They really do become a second family and they all light up the faces of my two children when we walk in there. I could not recommend this nursery any higher! I wish I had found them when I had my first!

Best choice I ever made. All staff are amazing. I've seen so many changes on my girl since she started going to Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool.
Highly recommend.
Barely can wait for my other baby boy to start attending nursery as well he definitely goes to Bright Horizons.

My daughter has had a lovely experience at this nursery since last year. She has really thrived here and we see her developing and learning as a result of the high standard of care provided. Nursery staff are very attentive and there are always great activities that my daughter thoroughly enjoys and
engages with. There are active plans and reviews to cater to individual development needs for your child. I always feel very well informed about her day either through face to face updates or via their app, which is a really great communication tool. It’s been a great choice for us.

We have been so happy with the care provided for our children at this nursery. All of the staff know the children very well with special care from their key workers. Our girls look forward to going each week. The outside space is excellent and the range of activities provided extends beyond the normal

We have been very pleased with the standard of care and nurturing provided by everyone at Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool over the past two years. Our son has learned and grown so much. He is always well taken care of, especially on the days when he has more emotions than usual.

I am so happy that I chose this nursery for my children to attend. For six years, I have been able to drop first my son and then three years later, my daughter, off safe in the knowledge they will be well looked after, have fun and learn lots. The staff are kind, caring and knowledgeable and my children

Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds is a fantastic nursery. Over the 3 years that our children have attended, I have been exceptionally happy with our experience all round and both have thrived in the setting. The safety of the children is taken very seriously at the nursery. The building itself is very
secure and staff follow procedures effectively. All staff members are such lovely and warm people. They make a massive effort to get to know your children and you as parents. The communication has been consistently great. They offer an app, in which you can check in on your child during the day to see what they’ve eaten when they’ve slept etc. Very importantly, their support for our autistic son has been amazing. Not only have they gone above and beyond for him whilst in their care, they have supported me on our journey, have been on hand to advise me, and have gone on specialist courses, to help support our son further. I will forever be grateful to Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds and it will be a sad day when our youngest leaves for school!

The experience at Bright Horizons has always been a positive one for our girls at Bright Horizons, Bury St Edmunds. We’ve had such a brilliant experience with them both. One of the key selling points for us when selecting a nursery for our girls was the amazing outdoor space. It really is a massive
asset and both our girls love being outside. The experience for them both has been second to none. The staff are always so friendly, caring and supportive. They are always coming up with really creative activities to support and enhance the children’s learning - which continues to amaze us. Our girls always look forward to each nursery day and seeing their little friends - so never a challenge getting them out of bed! When we’ve needed extra support with things like toilet training, the management and key workers have been amazing and have worked with us to develop a plan to support the children. The experience at Bright Horizons has always been a positive one. 5 stars from us!

My little man started here at 10 months OLD and what I especially loved about this nursery was how understanding the staff are from the initial meeting, with how big of a step it feels leaving them in a stranger's care. I have never felt a nuisance for the odd check-up on him and they got to know my
son and his loves, wants, needs, personality and habits extremely quickly. I pick him up and I just know how much he has loved his day here. The staff are brilliant. The food is excellent (especially with my son having a milk allergy) and I'm so pleased we chose this nursery. Due to the pandemic, it's been difficult to try and learn staff names etc, so I'd love there to be a teams info page somewhere! Also, we really love the app they use so you can get updates about your child, making you feel you're involved in the daily activities etc. Thank you again, Bright Horizons.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Rebecca has been a Nursery Practitioner for 20 years.


She qualified early on, gaining her NNEB and has continued to update her training throughout this time.


She has a Level 4 qualification in Childcare and Education.


She has always worked in the private sector and is experienced in all areas of development with children aged 0-8 years. Although being a manager of a busy setting is challenging and rewarding, Rebecca's favourite time of day is spending time with the children, be it joining them for lunch or taking small groups to the local swimming pool.


For the last 14 years, Rebecca has been in senior Nursery positions and has been involved in the setting up of two purpose-built nurseries.


Rebecca has said that she prides herself on the strong, professional and loyal staff team that they have built up at Tassel Road Day Nursery.

I started working in childcare in 1999 as a modern apprentice and gained my level 2 in Childcare and Education. I completed my Level 3 in 2001 and I started working with preschool children and moved into a Deputy Manager Role two years later. I joined Tassel Road Nursery in 2005 and three years later I qualified as a Level 4 practitioner.


I am also qualified Accredited SENCO completing my training in 2008. This role involves supporting children who require additional support within the nursery.


I enjoy spending time in all areas of the nursery, especially with the babies. I am passionate about supporting children on their journey of discovery and I have two children of my own.
