A WELCOMING AND ENRICHING NURSERY IN BURY ST EDMUNDS

The spacious Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool combines excellent facilities with caring, experienced staff to support your child’s development from the age of 3 months to 5 years.
Each light and airy room has an array of fun and educational resources to encourage curiosity and development. Children are inspired to learn through exploration and play, so babies discover new textures, sounds and sights with sensory play, and exciting music and movement sessions. Older children stretch their imagination in the role-play area, and employ critical thinking skills while playing with loose parts or constructing with building blocks.

All rooms at Bury St Edmunds nursery have freeflow access to the large multi-surfaced garden, giving children the option to enjoy nature at any time. Children love the wide-open space, balancing tyres and climbing frame. Younger children have a separate garden with soft flooring and a smaller climbing frame to help build their muscles and encourage their physical development.

The unique Ready for School programme supports children in their transition to primary school. They learn the basics of early reading, writing and mathematics, alongside creative pursuits in the nursery's Creative Cooks and Growing Artists enhancements. The team also teaches children to self-serve at mealtimes, use cutlery, make friendships and work together. The holistic approach to both academic and life skills helps children to develop confidence and interest in a wide range of areas.

The Nursery has all-inclusive fees which means you have less to pack on a busy morning, with all nutritious meals, snacks, nappies and wipes included in the fees.

The long-standing team would love to meet you and your child, so book a visit with the nursery today and they will show you all the nursery has to offer during your own personal tour.

My 4-year-old daughter had her last day at the nursery after 3 and a half years there. She was 10 months when she started there and transitioned through all 4 rooms and now goes to start her school journey.

At every room, our daughter had a qualified care giver who gave her 1 to 1 care. At every

room, she received performance checks every 3 months with a detailed written review of her performance in key development areas and a plan to further those development objectives.

I can not recommend Tassel Road enough. As a parent, it's difficult not to be with your child 24/7 but the staff at Tassel Road made that so much easier but giving her a loving and educational environment where she made some wonderful friends. Thank you to the staff at Tassel Road for all they have done. They truly made our daughters' pre-school years special.

All of the staff at Tassel Road know my little boy by name, as well as being familiar with routines, habits and developmental requirements. Since being here he has come on so much, especially in terms of his speech, motor skills and eating. This is a highly stimulating environment for young children,
and the facilities they have are first class. I have been delighted by the access to outdoor areas that they have. I can't speak highly enough about the staff, I have every confidence in them and know my son loves his days here.

I have two sons. My eldest started in the baby end and stayed right through to starting school. Tassel Road helped him prepare for big school so we had no first day nerves! My youngest has been at Tassel Road since he was 6 months and is now 2. I have never had a problem dropping off or collecting him,
he never wants to leave! The staff are so warm and friendly and ensure their routines are kept as much the same as home. Their activities are great and plenty of outdoor space. The chef is fabulous too! My son's eat everything she makes. Overall a wonderful nursery. I would always recommend to others.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.308)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.308) out of 10 for Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.944 for Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool is calculated as follows: ( (103 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.944

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.364 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery and Preschool is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 97 number of registered child places is 19.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 19.4 = 0.464

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
