I have nothing other than positive things to say about Busy Bees in Portishead. My son started there when he was nine months and continues to attend their pre-school. The level of care is consistently excellent with evidence of thought and time going into each planned activity. All the staff I have
met with have been very approachable and provide an honest and timely feedback. It is a huge comfort and relief to know how happy and well looked after my child is whilst we are working.

Busy Bees Portishead is a fantastic nursery. I have recommended this nursery to several friends and family, and they too have had a positive experience with the nursery. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming, my son loves the members of staff in his room and always has a great time. My son
enjoys all of the activities that the nursery has to offer, along with the great outdoor space. There is always so much going on every day and he is always learning something new. I really feel Busy Bees has been a great experience for my son's development. My son will soon be moving up to pre-school and I feel this will give him a fantastic start in preparing him for when he starts primary school.

Both of my children have attended Busy Bees from 12 months old and really enjoy it. I am confident that they are in a safe, stimulating environment with fantastic staff that genuinely care about the children that they are looking after.

My daughter loves her time at Busy Bees (as did her older sister before she left to go to school). The staff are very caring and provide a variety of activities and can even tailor make them suit specific needs - my daughter was struggling to recognise colours and literally within a week of being in
the pre-school room and some focused help from her key worker, she could name all of the colours of the rainbow!
The meals are freshly prepared and varied, there are even some opportunities for the children to make their own meal (sandwiches, pizzas, cakes) so that they can appreciate the joy of food.
I would thoroughly recommend Busy Bees Portishead to any parent who is looking for a welcoming, stable and nurturing environment for their child to start their most informative years in.

Amazing nursery, fabulous caring manager and staff that really know each child. My son has been going here since he was 2 and is so happy and is always learning new things. I'd never keep him that entertained at home and as a working mum, it makes me happy knowing he is safe and having so much fun.
If I ever have any more children, I would be more than happy for them to attend here.

We moved to the area in November 2016. I immediately liked the outside space at Busy Bees as my 4-year-old is very active and needs to run around. He settled in quickly and that is due to the warm welcome he receives every morning from the pre-school staff. They are a friendly team and actually care
about the children. The activities they organise for the children are fantastic - I wouldn't be able to do half of them at home. He is learning phonics and is enjoying it! My 16-month-old took a little longer to settle in but after a few weeks, she was happy to go to the 'Baby Room' staff in the morning and wave goodbye to me which is a massive relief. I am completely relaxed leaving her at nursery as I know she is being well looked after. The baby staff are so caring and thoughtful.The manager is a really lovely lady and always has time for the parents. It's obvious she gets on well with children as mine will always say hello and wave goodbye. I'm really pleased I chose Busy Bees.

Recently moving back to this country from overseas I needed somewhere that my daughter would feel comfortable and be encouraged to speak English, as her previous daycare was in a different language. She also has some additional needs, so it was essential I found somewhere where she could gain a little
extra support and understanding. The facilities are great too, purpose built with a fantastic outdoor space.
It wasn't an easy task, and I think I viewed all the daycare available in the area, but one stood out by far; Busy Bees.
The manager is courteous, understanding, has a wealth of experience and she embraced our daughter with open, welcoming arms.
From day one I felt happy and confident to leave our little girl, and when I collect her she has always had a fabulous time.
I am relaxed and confident in knowing our daughter is not only in safe hands, but also that she is learning, playing and most of all happy with her new little friends and the team, and I'm looking to increase her hours.

My son really enjoys his time at the nursery, he runs to the nursery in the morning, He has developed his playing and social skills lots since going to the nursery. I would recommend everyone to at least visit the nursery and see what they can offer your child.

My son has been at Busy Bees for just over a year and in that time he's progressed so well. He's turned into a lively, friendly, talkative boy who loves going to the nursery to see his friends. He enjoys going outside to play every day no matter what the weather and exploring new activities. There are
regular themes such as "road safety week" or "space week" and my son always enjoys these as well and comes home with some great arts and crafts and also new knowledge about things like volcanos or how to stay safe when out. His favourite thing so far was when the Police came in to talk to them.
All of the nursery staff are incredibly friendly and professional and have worked with me through things like potty training, dropping naps and when we had any behavioural issues.
I'd highly recommend Busy Bees for any parent who is looking for childcare that is of exceptional quality and that your child will love.

There is a really nice atmosphere there. The babies room is adorable and many stuff to play with, very educational toys, wooden toys, etc. They sing and the carers motivate the kids a lot. The outdoors area is amazing, they go out very often and even if the babies don't walk, they carry them on a pushchair.
Meals
wise, everything is home cooked, the chef is there with them and they look after every kids diet. I would prefer if they had porridge or bread for breakfast rather than cheerios, but they have fruit with the snacks and that is perfect.
In my experience, I am happy with them and my kid is happy there.

Hi,


My name is Alice and I am the Centre Director for Portishead. I have worked for Busy Bees since April 2015 and have progressed my way through the company from an Early Years Educator, to a Senior Room Manager, Assistant and then became Centre Director in January 2020.  


I have two young daughters called Esme and Isla who attend the centre with me. I pride myself on making the nursery a home-from-home environment where families and their children are at the centre of everything we do.
