My son is cared for by the team. In his review they showed they know him very well and tracked his progress in detail. They had available photographs that showed him in activities where he is happy and clearly engaged. I am relieved and reassured to have my son in safe hands and cannot recommend the
service of Ambourne House highly enough. Thank you!

Lovely nursery, my son has settled in quickly even though he only goes one day a week. Great garden which the children spend lots of time in and very caring staff. Also have events for all the family like a summer bbq which creates a nice community feel.

My little girl has been going to Ambourne House for 4 months. I love that it's a beautiful family setting which helps the children to their own needs. A big thank you to several members of staff in particular for making her feel warm, welcome, and safe. We couldn't have picked a better nursery.

I cannot recommend Ambourne House enough. From the staff in the baby room to the staff in the toddler room. The care for our son has been nothing but the highest standard and his development has increased hugely since he joined you. Two other members of staff, in particular, are also fantastic and make
sure all requests and needs are addressed fast. Thank you all so much for providing such fab childcare.

My son absolutely loves attending this nursery. The staff are extremely friendly and always understanding and professional should you have any queries or worries.
I love that we get pictures of some of the activities that my son does during his week there.
Would definitely recommend this nursery
to anyone who is looking!

My little girl has been attending since 10 months old and is now 3. She has loved every minute at Ambourne which has made my working life so much easier! Everyone is super nice and so lovely to my little one, she has had lovely relationships with a member of staff in Toddlers, 2 members of staff in
Kindergarten and now starting to develop new relationships with 2 other staff members, all of who she talks about when she comes home! She loves the chef's cooking and eats better at nursery than we do! Always learning and playing with the educational toys! I would recommend this setting to anyone contemplating going back to work as a fellow working mummy!

I couldn’t ask for more. The nursery is amazing and the staff members are incredible. The team does an amazing job with my son. He has lots of fun there. They go on daily trips with the nursery’s school bus, where they explore nature. They have an amazing time and lovely venues.

My son has been attending Ambourne for over a year, since he was 1. He enjoys going and I can drop him off knowing he is happy there. All the staff are incredibly friendly - I’ve always loved how they greet my son by name no matter which room they work in or their role in the nursery.
The nursery’s
Montessori approach is what makes them stand out from other local nurseries. We particularly like the fact the children are encouraged to spend time outdoors either in their lovely natural garden or on little trips e.g to the park or to feed the ducks.
The communication from staff is brilliant; they give useful information on what my son has done each day (verbal handover and via Tapestry) as well as regular ‘parents evenings’.

I had a good look around all the local nurseries (before lockdown) and had many show-arounds. However, no of them came slightly close as to what I felt, saw and experienced when I had my show around here for my daughter back in August 2020. It was peaceful, calm and well, just had such a family atmosphere.
All the children were clean, happy and the staff were amazing! They weren’t sat around, they looked involved and many spoke to me when my daughter and I had our visit. She had just turned two when she started, the toddler room. The staff were amazing and made both of our first nursery experiences pleasant. She still attends here in the Kindergarten room. She loves going in each day! Other reasons why I would strongly recommend this nursery:-
- Home-cooked food with a varied diet.
- Lovely big gardens.
- Montessori inspired.
- Forest Schools.
- Local trips to the park and duck pond.
What more could you want? I’m certainly glad I trusted my gut!

Very human-face-like and friendly nursery with very original education and activities for children. My daughter has been going there for a year since she was 1 1/2 and is always very passionate to go. Unlike some nurseries I have seen around the area, the staff seem to genuinely enjoy the work which
I think is a big reason why the children do so. The children are often led to learn about real life, for example, to plant vegetables, cook, draw, wash hands, behave themselves in a group etc. They play in a garden with real lawn, trees and many toys and attractions are wooden, not plastic. In nurseries I have seen around, they wash children hands with wipes, have a green carpet instead lawn and they tend to have the same things as in an ordinary playground in the yard, so this is not the case in Ambourne House. I appreciate that the keeper of my daughter often spends 1-to-1 time with her and puts an effort to teach her something new which she always seems to surprise me with later.

Both my daughters have gone to Ambourne House, one went to school last year, and wow she was so ready. That is down to the dedication of the team and her key person has given to her. My youngest, still there! Enjoys every minute. Hates coming home. Her key person has been and also the manager. She has
explained the whole vision of the nursery and this can be seen in all the improvements within the nursery. The STEM Centre is so amazing, wish I had it as a kid but my wife raves about the Montessori learning.
We have seen such a huge effort put in by all the team. Well done to you all for creating such a lovely nursery for the children and families.

Had a horrible experience with this nursery, they refused to give snacks to my daughter when all other kids were having snacks in the nursery, only because the nursery manager initially said they don't charge for "half an apple" and then in between they decided they do charge. Imagine what went through
a 3-year-old who was refused to have strawberries when all her friends were eating.

I highly recommend Ambourne House. My daughter loves coming here. Due to my child being born a micro preemie she has had some delays in meeting her milestones and the staff at Ambourne have helped my daughter feel confident with her feeding, also they have worked with me and her physiotherapist and
OT to assist in her meeting her milestones. The staff have been brilliant, and the nursery has such a lovely homely feel about it too. They care so much for the children, and every day the children do different activities and they encourage outdoor play. They have a lovely big garden for the children to play in. I would not hesitate recommending this nursery to family and friends.

I couldn't have found a more perfect nursery for my son to attend. The nursery has a genuine family feel and they have made us feel so welcome from the very first day. The facilities are outstanding and the activities my son gets to partake in, from painting and baking. Every day they are doing something
new which means he is so excited to go in each day. He has been thoroughly supported in his learning and the progress he has made over the time he has been there is truly exceptional. He absolutely loves nursery and has grown so much in confidence over his time there. He is made to feel supported and cared for in all that he does at Ambourne House Day Nursery and I can not thank them enough for the superb start he has had to his education.

My 3-year-old girl switched from another nursery. We choose Ambourne Day House based on a few simple factors; space (inside and outside), reasonable pricing and the staff. We had been shown around all over the nursery, met the teachers and we really like the activity timetable for kids. After joining
the nursery she just loved it, the teachers are amazing and become a part of our daily routine as my girl keeps talking about her time in the nursery. There are a lot of good things to mention; the daily updates from teachers, the big open playing garden (the lovely slide too), teacher's focus and interaction to individuals, the care in food (my daughter eats veg/halal-only), role-playing and little puzzles. We would sincerely like to thank all the teachers and management for their efforts in playing an important role in shaping my girl's foundation stage. She has now started the school and her reception teacher already consider her a valued member of their class. We wish Ambourne a great success!

My daughter, who is now 6, used to attend this nursery and she loved it. So I knew that it would be the right place for my son, and I was right. He is 15 months old and is starting to enjoy his time and thrive at Ambourne House. This is all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff in the
Tadpole Room.
I know that he will continue to flourish into the preschool and, just like my daughter, will remember Ambourne fondly for years to come.

I have moved my little boy through two nurseries so far. When we found Ambourne it was a blessing. My son settled in fine, you can see the staff truly do try their hardest every day.
My son has settled in so well, he's more confident and is very very happy.
I wish we had found the nursery sooner.

My three year old daughter and one year old son both come to Ambourne House Day Nursery in Patchway. We switched from another nursery that we weren't happy with and were a little anxious when we first visited Ambourne as we weren't sure what to expect, given our first experience. We were shown around
by the Manager and we instantly knew we were in the right place.
We had a tour of the whole nursery and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. We had no hesitation in booking our children into the nursery. They have both been really happy so far and are well looked after. The staff in their respective rooms are really helpful and we get regular updates on how the children are doing. Could not recommend Ambourne House highly enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.077) out of 10 for Ambourne House Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Ambourne House Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.077 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ambourne House Day Nursery is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.077

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
