Kiddi Caru Day Nursery Torquay offers families in the Torquay and Devon area flexible childcare to fit in with your individual family needs. They're located up the road from the Nicholson Road Retail Park near to Sainsbury’s supermarket and is a five minute drive directly off the A380.

They accept up to 22 hours a week of free funded hours, all year round. The nursery management team is happy to discuss the Childcare Choices options to see what childcare saving schemes you may be entitled to. Half days and full days are available all year round and they also offer school days, which are very popular with families that have older siblings attending school.

Outside play is a daily part of the children’s routine at the nursery, they have a garden that allows the childcare to explore growing vegetables and caring for animals. Whatever the weather, there is plenty for the little ones to do. At the bottom of the garden is a yurt which is an amazing space, for sensory and heuristic activities, that allows children to switch off from their surroundings and fully engage.

The nursery's sensory room is a calm, stimulating environment to the well resourced playrooms which are packed with age-appropriate resources to encourage the children to learn through play. The activities are all carefully planned and carried out by dedicated and highly qualified Early Years Practitioners.

They provide the children with wholesome food each day, prepared by the onsite nursery chef. A wide range of menus are on offer which are checked by a qualified nutritionist catering for all stages of weaning and to develop independence with older children, staff encourage them to help themselves to the food on offer.

My son is in the 0-1 group and absolutely loves attending his one day a week. The staff I have met in that room are lovely and really make me feel at ease knowing my son is well cared for.

My children have been attending Kiddi Caru since 8 months old and they are now getting ready to leave to start school. I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough they have been brilliant. The children love the staff it is a very friendly and inviting nursery. The education they have received to get them
ready for school has helped massively as they are all above where they should be on the development scale this is all due to the effort of the staff

Fantastic nursery. Attentive, caring staff, facilities always spotless, a massive garden which is kept so well maintained! I wouldn't send my son anywhere else. Each day my son comes home happy and I know he has been well cared for. Lovely variety of healthy meals provided, parking just outside the
nursery doors. I could go on! 10/10 for us!

Fantastic all round nursery, our son is extremely happy and loves to go in every day. There are great opportunities for learning and development and he has come on leaps and bounds since starting there. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are genuinely pleased to answer questions, great and say
goodbye to us. The classrooms are well designed, light and airy with lots of different activities laid out for when we arrive.


The outside area is fantastic and the children are well supervised while exploring and developing their skills. There are lots of things to develop fine and gross motor skills and preparing them for later schooling. We are so happy with everything here and how the staff have dealt with all aspects of our sons learning, development, care and interacting with him.

My son has been doing very well since going to Kiddi Caru but I feel there has been a few issues that I have not been happy with and the nursery needs to work on getting these correct.


Also basing this on recent weather conditions where all schools locally have closed but Kiddi Caru have been advised

to stay open which I feel is bad. They don’t expect primary or secondary schools to open but expect toddlers and babies to make their way in even though weather reports say stay in doors and then charge us still for it.

The nursery meets most of my expectations and I believe it is one of the best nurseries around. All the members of staff that I know are caring people and very friendly, my daughter likes them which says a lot. I do think however they could improve on cleanliness (toilets, toys) and maybe invest some
money in new toys, equipment etc.

We have been going to Kiddi Caru with our daughter since 2012 and our son is now there full time. Both children have been very happy there, we've never had a problem with them wanting to attend and they are clearly loved and looked after. The activities provided are great, my daughter learnt to say
all her colours in French before she was 4, all down to Kiddi Caru. She has settled into primary school very well and I am sure in part this is due to a good grounding at the nursery. Our son asks to go on a weekend! Highly recommended.

Fantastic!

Both my children have attended kiddi Caru and I have always been very happy with the standard of care and how happy my children are there.


I have recommended it several times and close friends and family who also use this nursery.


More feedback about activities is the only thing I would like more

of. Something like tapestry they use in primary school (photos and description of learning) would be good.

In general, I'm pleased with the way the nursery runs and the staff members.
My son likes going and I'm quite OK with the hygiene in the setting as well as the food.
There's always room for improvement but overall the most recommended in the local area.
Some of the staff members represent an outstanding
approach to kids and parents as well as in general a very friendly environment.

The staff at Kiddi Caru are amazing. My son loves coming here, he has a fabulous relationship with his key worker and really likes all of the staff. They're very knowledgeable and professional. I feel like they really care about my son and the day he's having.

I am extremely happy with the nursery and all the staff who have been involved in my child's care. Staff are very friendly and my daughter is always talking about the staff at nursery and is always super excited to go.
Most recently the nursery have introduced my daughter to help in the baby room,
helping to feed them and play with them. This was all leading up to us having a second child and I thought this was a really lovely thing to do to help prepare her for a new little sisters arrival.

The ladies working in Pebbles are warm and welcoming and I felt very confident leaving my daughter with them even though there were a few tears. The staff were reassuring and kept me updated about how she settled throughout the days that followed.
I love that they have such a large outside area at
the nursery and the nursery pets are a lovely touch. The rooms are very well equipped, look well kept and clean. The menus are very good too with a wide range of healthy foods.
They are very thorough with security and very professional all around. I would recommend the nursery to my friends and family without hesitation.

My son has attended Kiddi Caru Nursery for the past 7 months. He has taken a while to settle however the team in Seashells made sure my son was comforted and did what they could to distract him. Since my son has been at the nursery his vocabulary has come on amazingly and he is so sociable with other
children now. My son loves to be outdoors so having the big outside area at the nursery was a massive bonus. With the classes they have a timetable so the children are in a routine, I think this is brilliant. The food provided is very good also and has helped my son try new tastes as can be a fussy eater. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

My son has attended the Torquay branch of Kiddi Caru since early 2016. He has progressed and developed in two different rooms and every single week he is increasing his skills, interaction and even his eating habits! All of the staff are extremely approachable, caring and understanding of each child's
needs and wishes. The garden is especially outstanding with so much for the children of all ages to explore and activities for them to do. Would always recommend Kiddi Caru and it has restored my faith back into nurseries.
