Tops Day Nursery - Pokesdown, Bournemouth, offers a professional early years' childcare service and education to children of pre-school age, from as young as three months, as well as running a 'hi 5's club' for youngsters from the age of five to 11 years.

There are no worksheets or workbooks – children are inspired to explore, investigate, design and work things out for themselves. The aim is to inspire children to be adventurous, curious and excited to learn!

Early years' is the time to allow children to have the opportunity to be creative, investigate their environment and build foundations for continued future learning.

A pleasant learning environment is tailored to the personal interests of different age ranges, with a friendly team of carers respectful of culture and background. The nursery has an excellent outdoor play area which is accessible in all weathers and linked to the interior playrooms.

This award-winning nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Top Day Nursery Pokesdown offers very flexible hours. Sessions can be booked to the nearest 15 minutes so parents only book and pay for the hours they require.

Families of children at the nursery are more than welcome to call as often as they like to talk to a member of staff about their child and their day at nursery.

The nursery is flexible which has been beneficial due to my work, but also my son has a great time when he goes in. He has friends, support of nursery assistants, activities and a fun creative environment. I get the meals cooked for him, they're always healthy and warm and he enjoys them.

Our son has been going to Tops nursery Boscombe for almost one year now. The staff are lovely and so are management, they will answer any questions we have and make you feel welcome. We like that they are environmentally friendly and teach the children about this, too. Our son likes being outdoors and
the children are taken out every day, especially nice is the forest school. All in all our son has become more confident and he loves going to nursery.

I was really apprehensive about my little boy starting nursery in summer. However, all the staff in the Nest/Explorers are incredible. My little one loves arriving at nursery and seeing favourite faces. There are no tears when I leave, he doesn't even notice when I arrive to pick him up.


All the

staff are polite, friendly and my son seems to have taken to them all fondly which gives me great comfort. I really love seeing observations sent to my mobile app whilst he is at nursery and watching him enjoy lots of different activities. Within the whole nursery, there are plenty of activities, additional activities on offer and they really encourage learning by playing and exploring, making activities out of what your child is interested in at that time as well as planned activities.


Facilities are very clean, and I never have concerns about my son's well-being or whether he is being cared for properly. The team are all extremely hard working and I couldn't fault anything. Very child focused.

Tops Day Nursery - Boscombe a fantastic nursery. The staff are always supportive and welcoming. They offer so much in the way of activities. My son who has attended the nursery for almost 3 years has really enjoyed his time there. He especially loves cooking school. I would definitely recommend Tops

I've been using Tops Day Nursery - Boscombe to care for my daughter on ad hoc days while I work since she was only 4 months old.
Tops staff are open, friendly and professional.
They change nappies at least every 3 hrs and leave a detailed daily report on my child's eating, playing, sleep and nappies
which is reassuring.
I would and have recommended Tops Day Nursery - Boscombe to friends.

Good staff and I like the way they update my daughter's day on the EY log. My daughter already has her favourite teacher. There are plenty of different activities to do. Food I believe is good, however, I did not get a chance to know the menu as this was not emailed or in the EY log. I asked one of
the staff and they were not sure about this either. I would also like to see more organisation with the children to learn in groups rather than working independently. Children tend to do try harder when they have some peer pressure. I would also like my daughter to have a sleeping routine during the day.

Very happy with the care my daughter receives. However, I have had to remind staff about applying her eczema cream regularly. The staff are generally very helpful and the premises are clean and my daughter enjoys her time there

Tops is absolutely fantastic childcare! My daughter adores their after school club, she even begs to go at the weekend. The food is healthy and filling and they genuinely care about every child in their care. They even help my daughter with her homework and reading! I can't praise them enough and recommend
them to everyone I know that may be looking for childcare.

Great space, helpful staff is well trained. My daughter is very happy to go to the nursery. She likes the food offered, the activities, the games and the teachers.

Brilliant nursery with excellent standards. My daughter has been attending since she was 2 and has loved every minute of it and is always looking forward to going.
The staff are friendly and helpful and develop good relationships with the children and help them progress to meet their targets.

Tops Day Boscombe has gone above and beyond with the care for my daughter. I'm extremely impressed with the high level of organisation and attention to detail and to my daughter as an individual.

My son has really bloomed at the Tops Boscombe Nursery. He is growing into a strong independent child. The nursery itself is a fun and bright environment and he is looks forward to going every day.
We take a great pleasure in seeing photos and videos taken daily by the lovely teacher's which are put
on eyLog.
My son has progressed so much and has really started to say a lot of words and recognise colours.

My son has attended the nursery since he was 6 months old. The staff are so attentive to his needs and he loves going to nursery. The environment is well organised with a huge range of resources. The nursery manager is outstanding and leads a very dedicated and motivated staff team.

My son started to attend at 9 months old although hard for me the staff were friendly and reassuring! My son is now 2 years old and with the help and knowledge of the staff is growing into a confident happy little boy!
I can't fault the care or friendliness the staff are professional and helpful I
wouldn't want my son to go anywhere else.
