We have been so happy with Cranleigh Lodge. After a bad experience at another nursery, we had to move our little boy and it was a very anxious time for him. The staff made him feel so settled and took great care of him. Our younger one also enrolled and both boys have come on so well. Their communication
is excellent and all the staff treat the children like family. Really highly recommend it.

I'm so happy that my son loves it at Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery, with the amount of educational play they do while having fun and praising I'm blown away. My son was not speaking much when he first attended in the Robins room in May 2022 but since going to SALT and his nursery working alongside his
speech has massively improved and social skills.
A massive thank you to the team for supporting my son. I'll be forever grateful. Have put my son in for an extra day which will start in May.

Both my children have attended Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery and I have been so impressed with the care they provide. What stands out is how they assess and treat each child individually rather than one size fits all, and they are helping my son build his confidence and gross motor skills (bit of a late
developer!) in readiness for starting school in September. I would recommend to anyone who wants that little bit extra from a nursery/preschool.

My son started with Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery at the beginning of February and I have been so incredibly happy with the nursery as a whole. The staff have been welcoming, kind and reassuring. I was apprehensive about my son starting as he spent the first year of his life without spending much time
away from me but the team made everything so easy. They came up with a settling plan to suit our individual needs and were fantastic at welcoming my son into the nursery as well as keeping me in the loop and reassuring me of how he was doing. I cannot thank them enough for making what was a difficult transition for us both, super positive!

My daughter is thriving and adores going to nursery at Cranleigh Lodge. The staff are friendly, approachable and they know the children well. The nursery staff have a good understanding of child development in the early years and regularly review the resources in the environment, always providing stimulating
provisions tailored to the children’s interests. Our second child is due to start here in September 2023; we wouldn’t have considered her going anywhere else.

My grandson has been coming to Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery for the last year he took a little time to settle down. The lovely staff were wonderful with him encouraging him, he is so happy now. He has a young sibling who will also be going to Cranleigh this summer, we can't fault it.

My son joined Cranleigh lodge at 9 months old, mid pandemic and is now 27 months. He has absolutely loved the nursery since day one, has bonded beautifully with all of the team, and they truly do care for the children as if they are their own. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Cranleigh Lodge and
the wonderful team there.

My daughter has thrived at nursery. I sent her younger than planned as I was worried about her lack of interaction with others during lockdowns. She has a smile on her face every day when I collect her and eats such a varied diet that I know she is getting the fuel she needs for her development.

My daughter has come on so much since attending Cranleigh Lodge, she runs in so happy to see all of the staff members. I love the app updates, so I can check in on her through the day and the pictures of the activities are a bonus.

My son has been attending Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery since he was 1.5-years-old and the staff have been fantastic with him throughout all three rooms (baby to pre-school) he has attended!
They have been very adaptive with him and worked with us in-depth to overcome some issues we have with his speech
and eating habits, he happily skips in and I feel very comfortable that he is loved and cared for there as I would at home.

Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery is great, we love that they do days out to explore the local area, cook with the kids and just get to know each child very well. We love that all the children get the same food and encourage the children and fussy eaters with foods they may not eat at home.
The staff are
lovely and both our kids can’t wait to go to nursery.

Our daughter received a warm welcome at Cranleigh Lodge when she started at 6 months old. For me, the best thing about Cranleigh Lodge is that it feels like all the staff really care about the children. Every one of them knows our daughter’s name, even the ones that look after the older children instead,
and it feels like the staff are part of one big family. They send us photo updates every day with a description of what activities the babies have been focusing on that day. They provide useful updates on an app with details of food eaten, nappy changes, and when/how long she’s napped, which is really helpful. We’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Cranleigh Lodge and would certainly recommend them!

We feel very lucky that we found Cranleigh Lodge and can’t recommend them highly enough. The staff always go above and beyond, and genuinely really care about the children and families in their care. Our daughter absolutely loves nursery. She does so many varied activities, which she can’t wait to excitedly
tell us about at the end of every day. We also love that we see photo updates throughout the day. We are really happy that we chose this nursery.

I was finding it difficult letting my then 15 months old go to nursery as I had a previous bad experience with my older son at a different nursery, however, the staff went above and beyond to look after my son and even me. Sending photos and messages via the famly app, very pleased to say my son attends
this nursery and in just 6 months of attending he has come on leaps and bounds.

We have been incredibly happy with Cranleigh Lodge Nursery. We moved from a childminder setting to this nursery and have been delighted with the care the team have given our daughter and their excellent provisions. We appreciate their regular communications and the professional but extremely warm and
friendly staff. We’ve seen our daughter flourish. She loves it there and enjoys telling us all the new things she’s learning.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.132)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.132) out of 10 for Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.132 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 number of registered child places is 7.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.132

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

As a single parent to 6 year old Kezia in 2007, I decided something in my life needed to change! So I sold my house in Corfe Mullen and bought, what was then known as “Cradlecare Nursery”. I immediately renamed it to “Cranleigh Lodge Day Nursery” and took over the business with 12 children on the books and 6 staff! (Not ideal ratios for a business!!) With over 14 years of experience working with children and the last 10 years of those in managing a nursery, it was time to go it alone! And what a journey the last 14 years have taken me on!

With hundreds of children, families and some amazing staff through the doors, I have been very privileged to have been part of their lives. Nurturing children to be confident, happy and inquisitive. Training and supporting staff to be the best practitioners they can be. In 2011 I married again and a year later, my son Charlie came along. It was quite quickly that we realised he had additional needs and has since been diagnosed with Global Development Delay, Sensory Processing Disorder with Autistic traits. It was time to think about changing the dynamics of mine and my family’s life again. With Hannah a supportive, fantastic team member already, it was a no brainer to move her into the role of manager so that I could step back and concentrate on my family.

We have now moved and live 40 miles from the nursery, in the beautiful North Dorset countryside so that our little boy can attend the special school we felt was right for him. Whilst I still have huge input and love being in nursery, having fun with the team and the children, I know my team do an outstanding job every day and I am immensely proud of them all. Cranleigh Lodge is and always will be, my third child!
