Blossom Lodge Day Nursery provides a high level of childcare for children aged three months to five years old.

The nursery has four age-specific groups.

Babies - Ladybirds
Toddlers - Bumblebees
Early Learners - Caterpillars
Pre-School - Butterflies

The Nursery was refurbished in 2018, they have a sensory nature garden, a kitchen garden and a baby and toddler garden.

Alongside the EYFS it is just as important for carers to understand the way in which children learn through playing and exploring active learning and creating and thinking critically. This means that the nursery thinks carefully about how children learn rather than what children learn.

Through play, children have opportunities to combine, explore and refine ideas in imaginative ways, leading to narrative thought, the ability to see things from other perspectives and symbolic thinking.

Children's play experiences with carers enable them to seek out things that interest, initiate activities, seek challenges, develop a 'can do' attitude, be willing to take a risk in trying out new experiences with a range of equipment, the environment and resources including a wide range of open-ended heuristic items.

Two, three and four-year-old funded places are available.

We have been so happy with Blossom Lodge Nursery. Our child has thrived under their care. The activities are really well thought through and all the staff genuinely care. We get regular updates throughout the day which is really lovely as well.

Our daughter started nursery at Blossom Lodge in January. We have been extremely impressed with the nursery so far. All the staff are friendly, seem to genuinely care about the children, and our daughter loves it.

The best thing I ever did was put my daughter into Blossom Lodge, she was only 7 months old when she started. The staff are unbelievable, so kind and caring and my daughter now 9 months loves it. She never looks back, she’s learnt a lot since being there. Great nursery all around.

Staff are amazing, couldn’t ask for more they genuinely care for the kids and always go the extra mile. The set-up is good and there is lots of variety for the kids, they are always excited to go to nursery.

The nursery provides a comfortable setting with friendly staff who are always welcoming and make the children feel at ease. We know our children are safe and being looked after in an encouraging learning environment that provides them with a wide range of activities to develop their skills.

Both of my children are very happy at Blossom Lodge. It is always spotlessly clean and the staff are fantastic, and take such lovely care of them. The handovers are always really thorough, as well as communication through the app with live updates and sometimes photos. I have been amazed by how much
they learn too, including writing, counting, and drawing. It’s amazing being able to drop off young children and knowing they are in a place where they are happy and cared for.

Lovely nursery setting. Our one year old is currently attending and really enjoys it. The staff are incredible, kind and caring. We get regular updates and pictures. They have animals (hamster, bird and tortoise), which my youngest loves. Communication is great between staff and us. We also utilise
the early drop off and pick up by 6pm. Thank you.

We absolutely love Blossom Lodge! Having moved from another local nursery, they have welcomed our two children and they have settled instantly. The staff are so caring and attentive - nothing is ever too much. They know our children so well and adapt the curriculum to their interests which they love!
The rooms are bright, clean and purposeful. Their outdoor space is great and the children are outside in all weathers! Highly recommend!

Our daughter loves her days at Blossom Lodge. Like every parent, I was so nervous about how she would settle into nursery when I returned to work, especially as she only attends once a week, but after just a couple of weeks, she was so happy and confident going in. She has now been attending Blossom
Lodge for ten months and always runs in with a smile.
The nursery staff are all so caring and attentive, and we have always found communication great from the nursery staff both via the app and at pick up/drop off. Especially in the early days, it’s very reassuring to be able to check the app for how her day is going.
They do so many activities, and we love seeing the photos of her fun day at nursery and talking about what they have been up to.
We love Blossom Lodge and highly recommend!

Blossoms and the staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful and great with the children,
My granddaughter has come on leaps and bounds since being there, chatty and confident. She has some delay, and they have been absolutely amazing with her.

Blossom Lodge has not only looked after our children exceptionally well but has also taken the time to communicate and reassure us as the parents. We highly recommend Blossom Lodge. Our son absolutely loves going to nursery and has come a long way since attending. The staff are attentive, caring and supportive with our routine or any questions we have. They’re great with their communication, and constantly update us whilst he’s at nursery via
the app. This is reassuring as you can see how much they’ve eaten, and how their development is coming along, and the pictures so show how much fun he’s having.

My daughter started in April last year, since starting she has flourished! Her communication skills have only got better and are being extended daily. She has learnt how to do makaton, she's been having Spanish lessons, she can write her name. These are just a few to name that she has achieved since
starting Blossom Lodge. Staff love the children like they are their own and you couldn't ask for more as parent. My daughter has gained so many friends since being at nursery, her social life is better than mine! The garden area has had a massive addition of the climbing frame, and it makes such a massive impact to the children's physical abilities. Overall I cannot fault Blossom Lodge and the staff are incredible!

Blossom Lodge have given us a mixed record. Constant staffing changes, often leads to poor communication and periods of no communication at all, this has meant events going on in the setting are not communicated. We've had key workers, room leaders and valued members of staff leave without a word from
Blossom Lodge.
The setting itself seems to lack structure, which I would chalk up to constant staffing changes. Often clothes are lost or sent home with other children despite being labelled. Management seems unable to keep staff as more staff are leaving than join, constantly creating an unsettled place for your child to truly feel comfortable.
Good points, staff do genuinely care about children and staff do care about developing your child. The food is of good quality and I have no complaints.
In summary, Blossom Lodge is failing from the top down. It is clearly putting pressure on good staff members by making them pick up more work without guidance or rewards.

I cannot recommend Blossom Lodge enough. We have used a few different nurseries for our children in Cheltenham and Blossom Lodge was by far the best - fabulous care, excellent communication, unbelievable learning outcomes (which we were not looking for or expecting at a pre-school level), enthusiastic
and positive staff.


My son was very happy in this setting and so were all the other children. Blossom Lodge's "Family" app was brilliant for helping us to understand how he was getting on. This was useful as he started during the Coronavirus outbreak and we were not able to settle him in ourselves at the start of each day.


Thank you to Blossom Lodge. They had such a positive and nurturing influence on our son.

The staff at Blossom Lodge are amazing! They took the time to get to know me and more importantly my son. They made a huge effort to help him settle in when he moved there from another setting. We moved to Blossom Lodge after our daughter's previous nursery closed down during lockdown. The staff have been so welcoming and have been wonderful in helping with our daughter's development.
Our daughter was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in December 2020. The staff at Blossom Lodge have
been very patient and understanding, and have really embraced our daughter's difference. The amount of care and dedication from the team has been wonderful. Initially, we had some reservations about moving to a new nursery but the way our daughter has been looked after at Blossom Lodge, quickly put the concerns to bed.
I would recommend Blossom Lodge to any parents, but especially to those that have children with any kind of difference.

Zara

Zara Rogers

Job Title: Operations Director

Joined: 2008

Zara has worked in childcare for 14 years and at The Lodge site for 11 years. She worked her way up from Childcare Practitioner to Deputy Nursery manager in 10 years. She is very proud to have taken the post of Nursery Manager in 2014 and Operations Director in 2020


Zara has gained many qualifications, including NVQ level 4 in Early Years, NVQ Level 5 in Management, as well as certificates in safeguarding, SENCO, Paediatric First aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene.

Justine is our nursery manager since July 2024, she was previously our deputy manager.
