Blossom Lodge Day Nursery provides a high level of childcare for children aged three months to five years old.

The nursery has four age-specific groups.

Babies - Ladybirds
Toddlers - Bumblebees
Early Learners - Caterpillars
Pre-School - Butterflies

The Nursery was refurbished in 2018, they have a sensory nature garden, a kitchen garden and a baby and toddler garden.

Alongside the EYFS it is just as important for carers to understand the way in which children learn through playing and exploring active learning and creating and thinking critically. This means that the nursery thinks carefully about how children learn rather than what children learn.

Through play, children have opportunities to combine, explore and refine ideas in imaginative ways, leading to narrative thought, the ability to see things from other perspectives and symbolic thinking.

Children's play experiences with carers enable them to seek out things that interest, initiate activities, seek challenges, develop a 'can do' attitude, be willing to take a risk in trying out new experiences with a range of equipment, the environment and resources including a wide range of open-ended heuristic items.

Two, three and four-year-old funded places are available.

I have had two children attend The Lodge nursery - my elder daughter finished last year to attend school and my younger daughter is in the toddler room. Both children have loved their time at nursery, they adore all of the staff - almost all of whom have been there since my elder daughter started 5
years ago. The rooms and facilities are great, the children are always engaged and happy. I can't fault it in any way and would (and have already) recommend it to friends.

All the staff are well trained, caring and competent in their roles. My son took a while to settle in to the nursery setting but all the staff tried to make this an easy transition for him and were very reassuring. Communication between the nursery staff and myself is fantastic and I feel confident
he is being well looked after whilst he is in their care. I feel that I am kept well informed about what he has been up to.
The amount and choice of activities that are provided to the children is good and my son is always excited to tell me all about what they have been up to.
I love that the nursery have a chef who prepares healthy nutritious food for the children. My son loves it so much he regularly has seconds!
He has been well supported with toilet training, expanding his language skills and developing his social interaction. I would happily recommend this nursery.

Both my children have attended this nursery from 9 months old. During the past four years the thing that has stood out most is the staff's loyalty and dedication to their vocation and genuine care and affection for the children. Each room benefits from established and experienced staff. My daughter
loved her key workers in Caterpillars and Butterflies and is now flourishing in Sunshine Room. My son left the nursery last year, and despite being a young summer baby was well prepared for school by his Rainbow pre school experience. Management are also very approachable and supportive and in touch with the needs of parents and children. Lots of new toys and resources, I couldn't ask for more for my childcare.

Zara

Zara Rogers

Job Title: Operations Director

Joined: 2008

Zara has worked in childcare for 14 years and at The Lodge site for 11 years. She worked her way up from Childcare Practitioner to Deputy Nursery manager in 10 years. She is very proud to have taken the post of Nursery Manager in 2014 and Operations Director in 2020


Zara has gained many qualifications, including NVQ level 4 in Early Years, NVQ Level 5 in Management, as well as certificates in safeguarding, SENCO, Paediatric First aid and Level 2 Food Hygiene.
