Barney Lodge Nursery School is based in a lovely converted country house, with 4 base rooms and an extensive outdoor area. The nursery provides high-quality care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Rooms are carefully planned around children’s curiosity, equipped with high-quality natural resources and real objects, giving it that home-from-home feel and a relaxed environment that encourages learning and investigation.

Both full day and half day sessions are available. All fees include formula milk (for children 1-year-olds), meals and snacks.

Our son has just left Barney Lodge Nursery School (to start school) after being with them since he was 21 months old. There are not enough words to describe what a truly wonderful place Barney Lodge is. Our son has special needs and they have gone above and beyond to ensure he had everything he needed
to thrive. The staff were always so patient, calm, caring and understanding and Barney Lodge became like a second home for us. We were so sad to leave but our son truly blossomed at Barney Lodge that he was ready for the next chapter!

We have had the most wonderful experience with Barney Lodge Nursery School and the team who work there. They really understand our child and their ways and communicate with him so well. They have a great outdoor space which my child loves. The team are always welcoming, calm and collected even if inside
they may be feeling otherwise. He has been there since 9 months as I returned to work, it was a huge deal for our family as it was Covid and we had little support due to isolation. It was a huge deal and meant that we fully trusted what we saw in Barney Lodge and still feel that way. They have really understood our son and engage with the children’s interests. Childcare isn’t cheap as we know but it brings us peace of mind that he is in a great environment that also covers his food through the day. Even giving him seconds and thirds when he wants it. It would be nice to have a parent's type evening to really discuss the individual child and development, I know some nurseries do this. Thank you all.

My son loves going to Barney Lodge, he has a big beaming smile when we arrive for drop off! It didn't take very long at all for him to settle in, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. When I visit the nursery, the manager has taken time out of her busy schedule to talk to me on numerous occasions.
My son's keyworkers have really gotten to know him well and he is exposed to a variety of fun and engaging activities. When I pick him up, the staff always take time to chat with me about what he has done in his time there and give me helpful advice to help with things like his speech development. Very impressed with this nursery and so glad I chose to send my son there!

I am amazed at the range of experiences that they provide for the children i.e spa afternoon with calming music and cucumber on their eyes. All the children are happy and feel safe there. The staff are supportive of the whole family when disaster strikes. Wonderful place.

My daughter has been going to Barney Lodge since she was in the baby room and she is now in the toddler room. I could not recommend Barney Lodge enough. The staff are very caring and accommodating. My daughter is learning and is always happy to be there. It is a lovely nursery.

We have been very impressed with this nursery. Our son has attended since the age of one year. He has always been very happy here and has learnt so much. We feel the nursery has supported his development very well and they have great facilities. We receive regular updates on his progress and the staff
are very supportive and approachable. This nursery has provided our son with a safe and happy environment to learn and develop.

My son has been at Barney Lodge Nursery School (in Hedgehogs) since the beginning of January. We were quite apprehensive about him starting nursery but he settled in so quickly and seems to be really happy. All the staff have been so friendly and supportive, and it's very apparent that they really care
about the children. His key worker and all the other staff in Hedgehogs have done an amazing job of helping him settle in and keeping us updated on his development. They do so many different activities and have a huge outdoor area. My son always has a smile on his face at the end of the day and often doesn't want to leave! Thank you Barney Lodge for everything you do, and making us feel confident that our son is happy and well cared for whilst we're at work.

My daughter has recently joined Barney Lodge and was a very shy little girl but has really become confident and is learning so much. The staff are very friendly and lovely and have made my daughter feel so welcome and are also very supportive and helpful. I definitely recommend this nursery.

Barney Lodge has a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere. The key workers are dedicated and my child has been very happy in their care. Unfortunately, a lack of consistent management following a sudden Ofsted closure made it difficult to have enough trust to send my child anymore. I have no doubt that
a manager who is there daily to take full ownership (rather than managing two nurseries at once) and someone who is able lead the team daily will be the only adjustment necessary to make it an outstanding and consistent nursery.

The staff at Barney Lodge are incredibly supportive and wonderful with the children. Facilities there are lovely and homely with so many interesting areas for the children to play, especially the huge gardens and woodland area. My son has been there for over a year and absolutely loves it. I cannot
recommend the nursery more highly.

My daughter has been going to Barney Lodge since lockdown lifted and was her first proper interaction with other people and children. We were really nervous about her mixing with other babies and not having the social skills to cope with a huge change. The carers in her group have been absolutely fantastic
in helping her adjust and learn new skills.

My little girl has been going to Barney lodge since February, she settled really quickly in the Hedgehog Room and ever since has loved to go every week and has such a lovely bond with all the key workers and especially her key worker. I always feel comfortable when leaving my daughter with the girls
at the door. I love reading the notes on eyLog that are left after each session about my daughter.
Ever since my daughter started at Barney lodge she has become more confident around new children and adults, her speech has come on massively.
Thank you to all the ladies that work there not just in the Hedgehog Room but in the whole building who all work so well as a team to make it a safe, secure place for my daughter!

The ladies have looked after my little boy for a few years now and he loves nursery. We've never had a problem and he's enjoyed every minute. I think he will miss it when he goes to big school next year.
