Building Blocks at Kingstanding provides a happy and safe environment for all children to play and learn in and takes great care in providing high standards of childcare and education for those aged from three months to five years.

Set in a large detached building, the nursery provides ample space for children to experience a variety of activities and explore the many facilities.

At the rear of the nursery there is a secure garden area, as well as a separate baby garden, music zone and outdoor reading area. There is also climbing equipment, outdoor sand play and a large play house.

Building Blocks Nursery has a wide range of qualified and experienced staff who are all either trained to NNEB/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or are working towards the qualification. The nursery prides itself on the number of senior staff who have Level 5 and 6 qualifications and work well to lead a happy team.

A varied two week menu has been carefully planned to ensure a balanced, nutritious diet for all children and any special dietary requirements can be catered for. Nappies are included in the nursery fees.

The overall care and support from Building Blocks is like no other, the staff have helped my son with additional support and cared for him like their own. My son now runs into nursery and loves it like his home. I have so many great things to say about building blocks and always recommend the nursery.
Overall I feel and see that my son is happy, safe and progressing a lot here.

My daughter has attended nursery here for the last year and a half and I couldn't be happier with the care she receives. The staff have been so friendly and nurturing towards her and she comes home happy every day, always talking about the fun activities she has been doing throughout the week.
I receive
updates every day regarding what she has eaten and how much, as well as photos of my daughter each week. Communication has always been great from everyone at Building Blocks Nursery - Kingstanding and it has been lovely to see how much the staff genuinely care. My daughter loves attending and has progressed significantly since being here. Thanks for everything!

Excellent nursery. My son has been coming since he was 2 and they have been brilliant. The staff are lovely and treat the kids so well and you can really tell they care. Management are really helpful and are always there when you need them.

This Nursery, Building Blocks Nursery is nothing short of a haven for children. My daughter has blossomed since starting here in September. The staff go above and beyond. I can see improvements in every aspect of my daughter. Her learning, confidence and general happiness. I wouldn't recommend anywhere
else for new starters. I have absolute confidence that I have put my daughter into very capable and caring hands.

My daughter has been going to Building Blocks Nursery for nearly a year now and I have been nothing but happy with the excellent care they have provided. My daughter took a very long time to settle as she was used to being with just myself for so long and they were so patient with her and always updated
me. I never felt like I couldn’t call them to check in on her.
Now my daughter is settled, she is now really thriving and has such good relationships with the staff, especially in her room. She has also made good friendships which is lovely to see.
The communication with parents is outstanding and consistent.

My daughter has been attending Building Blocks Nursery for 6 months. She is very happy in the setting. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I enjoy receiving updates on the app, it helps me check in on what my little girl is up to whilst I am away from her. The nursery is always clean
and tidy and the children have many toys to play with and lots of learning opportunities.

We couldn't imagine sending our little girl to any other nursery. She has come on leaps and bounds since joining in May 2022. The staff carry out the curiosity approach really well and I like the creative freedom it gives the children. The app that is used to share between home and nursery is really
useful and makes communication easy and quick. Fantastic learning environments in all rooms and the staff that you can see are passionate about what they do.

Outstanding nursery! Staff who are fantastic at what they do, attention to detail in every area. The environment is so welcoming and has a homely feel. My son loves to be outside exploring and he accesses the outside every day doing some really impressive activities. The things he does during the day
often make me say wow when I see them. So much effort goes into everything and my child is always so engaged. I also can see what he has been doing during the day on an app for my phone. Everything is regularly updated with what he has eaten, and his learning journey is brilliant and the observations are always so lovely and show how much he learns and enjoys going. The managers are also really hands-on and friendly nothing is too much trouble. They also have a lovely relationship with my son you can see how passionate they are. 10/10 nursery and my new baby will be starting when it’s back to work for me.

It's a very calm place, the staff are very good with kids, and they have loads of toys to keep them busy. I like it. There is a garden where kids can run around in the summer days. They have all sorts of safety features implemented, such as door finger protectors - that was a good one I spotted. Overall
a pretty cool place.

Since starting my daughter there I have had no problems. She is very happy there and coming on leaps and bounds. As parents, it's hard to find trust in others with your baby, but they have provided the best care for my child. She goes in happy and comes out happy. The relationships she has with all

My daughter has settled in so well at this nursery, the staff are fantastic and my daughter gets so excited when she sees them, when I drop her off each morning. The nursery has such a calming and relaxing atmosphere and children are encouraged to explore. Since starting, my little one has tried lots
of new foods, been painting and played in the snow. Each day the app is updated with photos and notes of how she's getting on, which is brilliant for us to see how she's doing while we're at work. Such a fantastic nursery, I cannot recommend it enough!

After my son was abused in nursery, I never thought I could trust another setting, but these ladies went above and beyond to make my son regain trust in humanity. He went from constant flare-ups from stress-related eczema in his previous setting, to rarely any when he was moved to their care. I now
have my daughter there and they are again going above and beyond to help her flourish! I really wouldn't trust any other setting with my children!

Building Blocks Nursery have been nothing but amazing for our little boy. They have always gone above and beyond to take care of him. TINA HART

Job Title: Managing Director

Joined: 2002

As the Managing Director, I work fulltime to oversee all three of the Building Blocks Nursery branches and work closely with the branch managers.


I have worked in private day care for over 28 years and feel passionately about ensuring the service we provide is of a high quality for all children and their families. I also feel strongly about ensuring our setting supports and develops the staff team to be the best practitioners they can be.


I have my NNEB diploma and a degree in early years childhood studies. I also have my level 5 management qualification and I am currently undertaking my NPQ in early years leadership.


Emma

Emma Lloyd

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2018

Emma is one of our branch managers for the Kingstanding branch and has been in the manager's role for the last three years. She is a level 3 practitioner and is currently undertaking her NPQ in early years leadership.


Emma worked for Building Blocks for 11 years from 2006-2017 before exploring a new opportunity to work with children who had specific needs. She returned to Building Blocks in 2018 and quickly progressed into management which is a role in which she thrives.


Emma is also a strong advocate for the curiosity approach and she loves supporting her colleagues to provide the best learning opportunities for the children who she describes as the 'thinkers and doers' of the future.


Louise

Louise Jones

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2016

Louise is one of our branch managers at the Kingstanding branch and has 20 years experience in the early years.


She joined our team as a deputy manager in 2016 and quickly worked her way up to nursery manager. Louise is a very practical manager and brings a lot of experience to our team.


Louise is a level 3 practitioner and has a real passion for staff and children's health and well-being.

Maria Bailey

Maria is a qualified level 3 practitioner with over 30 years experience of working with children. She has a lot of experience in supporting children with special educational needs and children who have anxiety and she supports and reassures them wonderfully.
