Cotton Tails Day Nursery provides private day care for children 0-5 years old. The nursery is open Mon – Fri, 7.30am - 6pm, 52 weeks of the year excluding bank holidays.

Cotton Tails has been rated OUTSTANDING in its last three Ofsted reports. Staff pride themselves on providing a caring and safe environment that treats every child as an individual, balancing play and learning and helping them to develop to their full potential.

Cotton Tails Nursery has been open since August 1996, originally a much smaller premises, but with the demand of the childcare sector Cotton Tails has grown over the past years. In January 2013, it opened its doors to a whole new wing, now complete with extensive bright and vibrant rooms having everything available for both child and nursery practitioner.

Cotton Tails is renowned for its close parent partnership making care a complete circle, with the child in the centre.

My son has attended Cotton Tails at Northfield since he was 7 months old He's now about to turn two and loves it more than ever!! As a first time mother leaving my baby for the first time, the girls went above and beyond to make me and my son feel safe and welcome.
At the end of each day, I was given
a full account of what he'd done throughout his day, how much he'd eaten and his nappies and sleep times - a standard thing in all nurseries - but the way the girls inform you of your child's day is so heart warming. You can tell from all the faces of children attending that they all love being there.
In the 18 months my little boy has attended, I've never had any issues. I'd highly recommend this nursery to anyone who wants their child to attend a setting that feels so much like a home from home. Wonderful staff and a beautifully presented setting!

Cotton Tails Nursery is a consistently fantastic place to be. I can rely on the professionalism of the staff to take care of my children yet make their days full of fun and laughter. My sons have loved coming here right from the very first day and we have many fond memories of wonderful open evenings
and fayres through the years. The staff put more than 100% into everything at the nursery and I will continue to sing their praises. Keep up the fantastic work everyone.

My two boys love coming to nursery. There is always a wide variety of activities available for the boys including outside services such as rhythm time. The staff are always friendly, informative and inviting. My boys both have strong bonds with the staff. The nursery itself is colourful and imaginative,
it draws the children's attention and creates a happy environment to play and learn. I only have positive things to say about the nursery and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Cotton Tails are a brilliant nursery. The staff are so friendly and there is plenty of space for the children to play. The staff always keep the children busy with lots of different fun activities. I wouldn't choose any other nursery to send my son to.

Since my son started this nursery a few months ago, his confidence has grown. This is owing to the fantastic support of the staff. He was also a fussy eater so mealtimes were often a struggle. However, due to the perseverance and help from the staff, he is now readily trying food he wouldn't have eaten
before. The facilities at the nursery are brilliant and I have confidence that my son will leave for school with the skills he needs to achieve his full potential.

Lovely nursery with a great parent partnership. The facilities are bright and modern and the nursery also offers themed workshops which parents can attend too. The Christmas one is fabulous!
I love finding out what my son has been up to during his day at nursery and the staff are always happy to talk
about his day and development and offer advice too if needed. It's also reassuring that he gets on well with the nursery ladies.
A happy child = happy mummy! :)

All staff are friendly and helpful and so supportive during room moves / transitions. My daughter loves going to nursery and enjoys spending time with the staff and children. My son attended Cotton Tails for 3 years. He started when he was 6 months old and I wouldn't have left him anywhere else. The staff are amazing and made me feel so comfortable and happy leaving him in their care. I highly recommend Cotton Tails, definitely the best nursery!!

My daughter has only been attending Cotton Tails at Northfield for a month but so far I have been extremely impressed. After attending a childminder for 2 years, I was really anxious about the change to nursery but the staff put both my daughter and I at great ease. She has settled in fantastically
and the staff have been very supportive. I love all of the work she has been bringing home and how many different activities they do each day. She comes home happy every day and tells me about all the fun things she has done. The food menu varies from week to week and it's all home cooked and nutritious. The daily rate is also very reasonable.

Cotton Tails is an excellent nursery. The staff are great and will always go out of their way to help. I have one child at the nursery who has been there for 2 years and a previous child who was there for three years. Both boys really enjoy (Enjoyed) it. The facilities are clean, tidy and spacious and
the garden area is really nice and well planned. Both of my boys have thrived at Cotton Tails and their learning and development have come on leaps and bounds. The main reason I like the nursery so much is that you know when you leave that your child is going to be happy and loved while they are there. There is also the added bonus of being able to park somewhere secure when going to and from the nursery, which is essential when you have two small children to manage. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

I was impressed with Cotton Tails at Northfield when I came to look around. Cotton Tails at Northfield was my 5th nursery to visit and my last. My friend recommend Cotton Tails at Northfield, as her 2 daughters had gone there. I felt it had a great atmosphere and it was very welcoming. Now my 16-month-old
son has been there for 10 months now and it is clear to me that he is happy there, he happily goes to staff when I drop him off in the morning and even waves me goodbye as soon as they have him. At parents evening and stay and play sessions, it is clear that they know my son's charter as well as I do, which tells me they give him the time and attention he needs. The staff ask what I am working on at home, so walking, speech development and so on, so that they can work on the same things. I just love the nursery and staff and I would recommend them to everyone, not just my friends.

The staff are all very friendly and approachable and are genuinely interested in the children's development. My children both love going to nursery which as a parent, is all you really want. I especially love the workshops allowing me to feel part of the nursery and a chance to see my children in the
only environment they are without me.
The activities they do with the children are fantastic and very imaginative and I love that they spend money on rhythm time, dance lessons, and the animal man to name a few.
The amount of resources available for the children is exceptional and the quality and choice of the toys is great. The staff are full of fantastic fun ideas that really inspire the imagination and helps the children to learn in a fun way.
They encourage parent involvement and support parents in what they are trying to achieve outside of the nursery. As you can see I am very pleased with the nursery and how my children have grown whilst being there.

My daughter has been going to Cotton Tails at Northfield since February 2014. She loves it there. She has made lots of friends and the staff are really friendly. I know that leaving my daughter at Cotton Tails she will be well looked after. Their food menu is varied and changes depending on the time
of year. They have their own private garden facilities and the children are taken out to a local park. If you have any queries the staff are very approachable. I would definitely recommend Cotton Tails at Northfield.

This is a brilliant nursery, my daughter has come on so much since attending and they have such a variety of activities on that she is constantly challenged and entertained. My son has been going to Cotton Tails for about 3 years now. I have watched him make new friends and learn some great skills. While being at Cotton Tails my son's confidence has grown which helps him not only within the nursery but with other things outside in our day to day life. I was very proud of

We are absolutely delighted with our decision to send our son to Cotton Tails Day Nursery. There's a real buzz about the place. The facilities are bright, colourful and clean. All the staff have a friendly, caring, enthusiastic and positive attitude. They have made a notable positive contribution to
all areas of his development in the 15 months he's been attending. He loves his time at Cotton Tails and is developing into a confident, outgoing, bubbly child. We highly recommend them.

Michelle

Michelle Young

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2000

My name is Michelle Young, I am the manager at Cotton Tails Nursery. I have worked at Cotton Tails since June 2000 where I worked in the Pre-School room and then later worked in the Tinie Room which I thoroughly enjoyed.


I became the manager in 2009 which was a completely new role for me but I really enjoyed the challenge. During this time, I went on to complete my NVQ3 in Leadership and Management which has helped me in the role.


Over the years, I have grown to love my role as a manager, especially seeing all of the children grow and develop, then move on to big school.


One of my biggest aims as the manager was to maintain our OUTSTANDING Ofsted grade as it was my first Ofsted as a manager. This goal was achieved in March 2014 when we were rated OUTSTANDING for a second time. I am enjoying the challenge and enjoy working with a great team.
