Stonehouse nursery was once an old farm house building but is now renovated into a fully functional childcare facility. Lots of special remnants remain in their outdoor space like an original farm tractor and their 2 pet chickens who roam through the gardens whilst they play.

They have 5 Little Pioneers who help share their core values with the children such as encouraging them to be independent to making a difference in the world. They are big on safety which is why ALL their staff are paediatric first aid trained.

They are big on happy children so they have areas for growing food (and eating it), regular visits to local care homes and take care of each other and the world. Their ParentZone app keeps mums and dads informed about life at nursery including photos from their day, assessments, meals eaten and even toilet training progress.

The nursery holds the green flag status in the prestigious Green Flag Eco-schools programme which is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.

They love healthy eating at Stonehouse and they've partnered with Startwell, an exciting new programme being rolled out across Birmingham to encourage healthy, nutritious meals for children.

They have provided an excellent service for my children. Every day they do something different and have a variety of activities to suit most children. Each day is communicated over to the parent via the app and often also in person. Although this place is more costly than some others, I feel it is worth
it.

I can’t fault anything at all at the nursery. My little boy not only has lots of opportunities to learn but develop his individual interests too. He is very happy playing, learning and exploring with his mates. The staff are just superb! The girls are always supportive and enthusiastic about each child.
As a key worker, I and my husband can’t thank the staff enough for supporting us through a tough time. We couldn’t have done it without them!

This nursery has been outstanding for each of my children over the course of about two years. The staff have been amazing both supportive of the children and also myself as a parent. The children have come along so far within a short amount of time.

My three children have attended this nursery and I have felt extremely comfortable in leaving them from a young age. This nursery not only does the staff provide a safe environment but a warm and nurturing environment, which helps in your child's development from baby to preschool age. My children and
my last child who is still currently attending enjoy it at this nursery and look forward to going. I am extremely grateful for everything they do for my child.

My son is extremely happy at this nursery and his development, particularly post lockdown has been incredible. The key workers are all very nice and professional and I believe they genuinely care for my son and his development. The nursery buildings and gardens are great, and there are lots of interesting
activities. It’s a pleasure to see my son happily greet his key worker in the morning and is excited for his day and hear his stories of what he’s been up to in the evening.

Since my child has started at First Steps, the staff have been nothing but kind always smiling and going the extra mile to make sure my son has settled in. The activities and observations that have been done are outstanding and my son always seems to enjoy them when talking to me about them. I have

The First Steps team has helped my daughter blossom into a confident, kind and independent girl. She has been going to the First Steps nursery from the time she was 7 months old and I can testify to the all-rounded excellent care she has always received. I think the success ingredient is the passion
and energy that each carer brings to the table - everyone seems to genuinely enjoy looking after the children, playing with them, teaching along the way. A specific note to add that the team did very well in responding to the processes exerted by the pandemic - the swiftness with which changes were made to ensure everyone was safe was truly remarkable. Thank you!

The Nursery staff have been nothing other than very supportive and encouraging towards my son. He is progressing well considering he has some challenging behaviours. The Nursery itself is very homely and has a cosy feel which I think my son particularly warmed to. The Nursery staff are always helpful
and give thorough feedback daily.

Our twins have been attending the nursery for 3 1/2 years and have been through every stage from baby, toddlers to pre-school. During that time they have had numerous key workers and I can say that without exception all have been excellent. All staff are caring, professional and friendly and have nurtured
and supported the development of our children so well. Our children have been very happy at nursery and from observation during drop off and pick up time, all children at the nursery seem happy and engaged. I am confident that our children have been well prepared for the transition to primary school and would have no hesitation in recommending the setting to anyone.

First Steps Nursery is my child's home away from home. Staff are lovely. The best nursery in the West Midlands by far. Love all the outdoor activities and facilities. My child has learned so much and is so independent. Fun, fantastic nursery where I am happy to leave my child in great hands when I go

A very friendly, caring nursery who will always do the best for the children in the setting. My child loves coming to nursery and has a great connection with other children in the setting but also with all staff members. The outdoor space is great. The nursery staff have great memories and also ask

Lovely nursery with great outdoor space. Teachers are enthusiastic and caring. My daughter is really happy there and made lots of friends. She's also very close to her teachers.
The location is now completely out of our way due to change of work but we spend about one and a half hours commuting each
way every day to enable my daughter to continue at this nursery.
The menu could be more nutritious and less repetitive.
A bit pricey. Lots of requests for money for charity can get a bit tiring.
Overall highly recommended (I already recommended to two friends whose children have also joined).

My child has been here since June 2017 and I’m very content with the level of care and service provided. Staff are very lovely, accommodating caring and you can tell they are genuinely interested in the well being of the children. Great environment both outdoors and indoors with a vast array of learning

Thrilled with the transition my son has made since starting this nursery in December 2018 from a previous setting. The kind nature of the staff and attentiveness toward the children is second to none, this is evident with the relationships my son has made. Activities are well thought out and relevant
to learning age. Informative handovers are given and observations/pictures shared regularly. Meals are nutritious and varied, there are alternative options for dietary requirements/fussy eaters. The outdoor area is amazing, lots of learning through play and the chickens give the whole place a warm homely/farmy feeling. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone!
