Kids Planet George Perkins is an Ofsted "Good" rated nursery (May 2023) situated just 2.5 miles from the City Centre. The emphasis is on ensuring their practice is the best it can be and in 2017 received Level 3 accreditation as a “Healthy Setting” which led on to being shortlisted for the 2017 Nursery World Awards in the Health and Wellbeing category, recognising their “Building Healthy Lives” initiative.

The nursery aims to be the children’s second home and they have embraced the cosy atmosphere of being based in a house whilst being versatile in the use of space, keeping separate rooms for small groups of children when needed and then opening up to provide a free-flow environment to maximise access to a wide range of facilities and opportunities for them to develop. The nursery is divided into three units, the Under 2s (Babies and Tots), Toddlers and Preschool.

Parents are recognised as their children’s first educators and communication between home and nursery is encouraged in a variety of ways. In addition to the informal discussions held regularly with parents regarding day to day developments, biannually Parents’ Evenings are held, providing reports detailing children’s progress and which also offer workshops on aspects of child development and parenting.

Regular newsletters are sent out to keep parents informed and there are several opportunities to go into the nursery to join in with activities with their child; there are regular “Stay and Play” sessions as well as opportunities like pancake making on Pancake Day, afternoon tea on Mothers Day and many more festivities.

Lovely nursery, care from staff members is absolutely brilliant. All key workers are very caring and diligent. I'm always very content dropping my daughter to nursery that she will be cared for very well. I also especially like the focus on healthy and fresh meals.

I can't rate this nursery enough. My first daughter has been here since she was 1 year old and left this August to start school. And she still talks about the staff and her friends she made there. She always loved going. My second daughter is now going here and she is in baby room currently and it hasn't
taken her long to settle into nursery! She smiles when I pick her up. I have built up such a great relationship with the nursery staff and feel able to tell them how I feel about things. And they give back such detailed end-of-day reports of the children.

The staff and management are amazing. This is one of the best nurseries I know. They do so much with the children, my daughter comes home every day learning so much, it shocked me what she picked up on a daily basis. They were really helpful and accommodating with a swap of days I needed for a family
funeral and they were amazing and so understanding about it all.

This is a nursery that really cares about the children in it's care. My daughter has formed very close attachments to several of the nursery staff and she views them as much part of her inner circle of trusted people as us!
They respond to the child's emotional and physical needs and provide care which
is personalised - moving them into different spaces for sleep/play/comfort as the children require and will benefit from most. We trust them with our daughter implicitly and haven't hesitated to sign up our second child. Outstanding care.

We love sending our daughter to George Perkins Nursery, we know she is well looked after, cared for and learning to grow in a nurturing environment. I have nothing but praise for the staff at George Perkins. They helped ease me and my 11-month-old into our new routine in August 2023. The ladies in the baby room are full of kindness and compassion and are wonderful with all the babies and come up with lovely creative play, getting them outside regularly
and baking. I love seeing what he gets up to on the app and I always get a thorough handover at the end of each day.

Our son loves going to Kids Planet George Perkins, which is the most important thing. The staff there are caring and kind, and we have seen our son make friends and play with many different children. They are responsive to queries and emails. The premises are clean and there is a nice outdoor space
which our son enjoys, and I like the proactive attitude of staff or taking the kids outside whenever possible. Well done Manager and team!

Our son has been going to George Perkins since June and full-time since October. He seems so happy and is thriving there. We get regular updates and pictures that document his activities and progress. He loves the nursery staff there and it seems such a warm and friendly environment when we drop him

The staff at George Perkins have helped both of my girls settle in comfortably this year. They love the different activities on offer, themes of the week and especially the well-maintained outdoor area. Three of my children have attended this nursery. I love the friendly homely nurturing atmosphere the staff create as you walk in through the door, management team are excellent and always willing to help. My youngest is being taken care of by staff that were at the nursery when my eldest was there 14

Our first experience was meeting the manager - she came across as earnest, sincere, organised and passionate. Fantastic staff who go above and beyond and my son absolutely loves going, so much so, he asks to go on weekends! Our 2-and-a-half year old boy has been at this nursery since he was 8 months old.
The staff and the facilities are brilliant.
