Kids Planet George Perkins is an Ofsted "Good" rated nursery (May 2023) situated just 2.5 miles from the City Centre. The emphasis is on ensuring their practice is the best it can be and in 2017 received Level 3 accreditation as a “Healthy Setting” which led on to being shortlisted for the 2017 Nursery World Awards in the Health and Wellbeing category, recognising their “Building Healthy Lives” initiative.

The nursery aims to be the children’s second home and they have embraced the cosy atmosphere of being based in a house whilst being versatile in the use of space, keeping separate rooms for small groups of children when needed and then opening up to provide a free-flow environment to maximise access to a wide range of facilities and opportunities for them to develop. The nursery is divided into three units, the Under 2s (Babies and Tots), Toddlers and Preschool.

Parents are recognised as their children’s first educators and communication between home and nursery is encouraged in a variety of ways. In addition to the informal discussions held regularly with parents regarding day to day developments, biannually Parents’ Evenings are held, providing reports detailing children’s progress and which also offer workshops on aspects of child development and parenting.

Regular newsletters are sent out to keep parents informed and there are several opportunities to go into the nursery to join in with activities with their child; there are regular “Stay and Play” sessions as well as opportunities like pancake making on Pancake Day, afternoon tea on Mothers Day and many more festivities.

A wonderful nursery full of caring staff who put children first. Our child is very happy there, developing a lot of key foundation abilities, and learning social skills. There are regular inclusive parent events so we can understand how learning and play take place. This can only happen with sensitive
leadership. The nursery is flexible to our needs.

My child has been attending the nursery for the last 6 months. Without trying to be cliché sending him to George Perkins Kids Planet was the best thing we did! My child's confidence has grown massively! As any parent, I had some concerns on my child's speech development and made his key worker aware
of this. With the staff's help, and my child's interaction with other children his speech has developed and improved immensely! Staff always make themselves available to answer any queries I may have and I'm regularly kept up to date with my child's daily progress via the app.

This nursery is outstanding in the truest sense of the word. My daughter has been here full time since she was 8 months old, and during all of that time her care has been outstanding. She runs to the door every morning with a grin , and every time I pick her up she is clearly having a marvellous time.
The staff are incredible: they really treat the children with a sense of love and care and individuality. My daughter has been diagnosed with SEND while at the nursery, and the amazing SENCO and wider team supported us successfully to get an EHCP granted in time for her to be accepted to a special school with the reception intake. This is going to change the whole direction of our daughter's life and school experience for the better - and all down to the team here. The garden is an amazing resource - they are always out there having a great time. The manager really cares for staff well-being and professional growth and this shows in the commitment and happy ethos of the staff.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone, in fact, I have recommended the nursery to patients who have ultimately sent their children here and are also very happy! My daughter has attended since she was 11 months old and has had the most wonderful care over the last couple of years. Staff
really take the time to get to know the children and adapt their care to support their progress. There are strong community values with opportunities to get involved at nursery such as with stay and plays or collecting for the local food bank. The staff are amazing and clearly love and care for the children. My little girl has been so happy here and I’m so thankful for everything that has been done to support her development.

My wife and I were extremely happy with our decision to enroll our daughter in Kids Planet George Perkins Nursery. The nursery has a very caring team and the management is quite understanding of individual needs.
They recognised our daughter had some issues and then worked with us closely on those
issues, and after a while, we witnessed a significant improvement in our daughter. We truly thank the staff and the management for their support and love for our daughter.
Our daughter still misses her nursery after starting her reception year at school!
We wish them all success.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. The staff are so warm, caring and attentive. The children are treated as individuals and allowed to be themselves whilst ensuring ongoing learning and development. All staff handled the Covid pandemic so well and also the transition to being part of Kids
Planet.
The facilities are lovely, particularly the large garden, and the amount of time spent outside is brilliant. Meals and snacks are also well-balanced and the menu varied. We have very sadly had to move our two children due to change in location, but both have loved their time at George Perkins.

My child loved going to the nursery, unlike his previous one. His language skills and toilet training were encouraged quite early compared to my elder one and my child coped well.
He enjoyed the story time, music and dance sessions. Good emphasis on healthy diet and yoga sessions.

Kids Planet George Perkins is a really amazing nursery that I am continually impressed by. My daughter really loves being there and has a good relationship with all the staff. My son was 15-months-old when he started nursery. Being born at the beginning of lockdown and only speaking Spanish made settling a challenge for us, for nursery and especially for him. After two months he is finally enjoying nursery. I could not have asked for better support from staff. They were patient
and understanding, but most of all they respected his timing, allowing him to process the separation from us and to build trust in them. Thank you so much!

George Perkins nursery is just great. I cannot recommend it enough. It is run with care, kindness and creates magical learning opportunities for the children every day. I wish this was a standard for nursery child care but my personal experience has shown this is not the case. Do not hesitate to send

This nursery is absolutely wonderful, my son settled in so quickly due to all the support and care he received from the staff. The children are involved in a great mix of activities and their outdoor area is one of the main reasons we enrolled him here. The nursery is passionate about children playing
and learning outdoors and of course, the trips to the local park are great. The staff have been great and his key worker has really taken the time to get to know him and help him develop. I love the app which is used to update parents with photos of the children, details on the activities they took part in and general nursery information for parents. The nursery really tries to get parents involved which is lovely. Overall I'm so happy with this setting and look forward to my daughter joining next year.

We think George Perkins Day Nursery is a fantastic nursery. Very caring staff with a low turnover - our child has had consistent keyworkers since the beginning. The outdoor space is really special, and the children are outside pretty much every day, in all weathers, which is one of the main reasons
we chose it. There are lots of opportunities for parents to be part of the community with activities in nursery hours and also sometimes at weekends, with special events. The daily updates via the Famly app are a lovely way to be kept informed, and it's two-way, with parents being able to easily share information about their child's weekend. Communication is really good. The food looks great. Staff are very caring and attuned. We've remained impressed ever since our child started there 14 months ago. Can't really fault it!

We’ve felt a part of the community from the start at George Perkins. The nursery put so much time and care into the children’s activities and our daughter’s learning has progressed so quickly. They are all welcoming and approachable staff who clearly care about every child. We couldn’t be happier with

George Perkins Day Nursery is wonderful. The level of care, the imagination and kindness of the staff and the communication between key workers and parents is excellent. The nursery is located in a large house; the baby and seedling rooms are fairly small and the sapling rooms are more spacious, which
nicely reflects the needs of children at different stages. The nursery has a personal approach to day care and have impressed us with their attention to each child's individual needs at their varying ages. It is also very creative about making learning and personal development fun. They have a large outdoor space where the children are encouraged to be active, to help grow flowers and plants, to get messy and to play with their wonderful (and safe) new water pulley system. The food served for meals and snacks is healthy, varied and nutritionally well balanced. Having a child at George Perkins makes you feel like part of a family and I can't thank them enough for looking after our child so well.

This is a wonderful nursery where children receive excellent care and superb opportunities which provide them with solid foundations for their education. Staff are knowledgeable, caring and approachable, genuinely care for the children and make children feel safe and happy. Staff focus on children’s
social and emotional development as well as developing their basic skills being led by children’s interests. The nursery works hard to involve parents and are committed to teaching children about healthy living. The space is in a large house and feels homely and the outdoor area is brilliant and gives children amazing opportunities for exploring.

I’m really impressed with every aspect of George Perkins. I, like many other parents, was very apprehensive about my daughter starting nursery but the staff were amazing with both of us!
She is so happy there, always excited to go and has fantastic binds with all the staff. They spend so much time
outside which is amazing! I also love how the children, and their interests, really guide which activities they do and learning is integrated.
The staff are all lovely and really passionate about expanding their knowledge regarding how children learn and develop. This is fed back to us through parents evening which I find really interesting.

Our daughter started nursery for the first time at George Perkins nursery. It was a fantastic experience. We have a sensitive little one who is highly attached to her parents. The staff were very understanding and caring towards her. In a matter of months, she went from "crying" to "can't wait to get
to nursery". She loves it there.

We are very pleased with this nursery, its policies, its staff and overall attitude.
When my daughter used to attend this nursery she received a lot of support. It does not matter whether your concern is small or big, directly related to your child or just a general enquiry, whether your child is
in full-time care or only uses funded hours - the staff will do their absolute best to help and accommodate your needs.


In my daughter's case, they really put effort into helping her to come out of her shell (she was a very shy child) and to start eating a variety of foods (she was a very fussy eater). Now my son is attending George Perkins and he is extremely happy there.


They focus a lot on healthy life choices, such as food and exercises, nurturing parent-child relationships and developing practical life skills through various real-life experiences. Their manager is a very hands-on person, who takes the time to get to know all their children. She has created an outstanding team!
