Westwood is a purpose-built 70 place day nursery of the highest quality.

Westwood provides a happy, sociable environment where every child is treated as an individual.

The nursery has 5 main playrooms, all with their own individual outdoor spaces. It also consists of sensory areas and designated sleeping areas.

Outside is a fully enclosed and well equipped garden with astro turf and patio areas as well as designated areas for creative play, role play and digging. The nursery also organises social events including fundraising, parents evenings and stay and play afternoons.

Westwood Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Drama Tots on Thursday afternoons, alternating to a different room each week.

Westwood gives children the opportunity to both work and play in cheerful and stimulating surroundings.

Our daughter has excelled at Westwood Nursery due to the outstanding team that are there. This applied from management to the chefs. The time, care and communication from the nursery is second to none. I have recommended the nursery to numerous friends and family.

I have 2 children at Westwood nursery and have absolutely no complaints, my children love going every day and there is always a wide range of activities for them to engage in and they are well looked after. Staff are friendly and always happy to have a chat. I would recommend the nursery to anyone looking
because I believe they really do their best to make sure all the children attending are happy, cared for and nurtured.

Westwood Day Nursery has been so welcoming and accommodating ever since my son started 8 months ago. We are always greeted with happy smiles and my son comes back content and happy! He is learning so much more than I would be able to offer at home, particularly the social interactions with other adults
and children. This is sculpting him into a happy confident little boy! We get lots of feedback via the ParentZone app and I can tell the staff genuinely take pleasure looking after my son, nothing is too much trouble.

This is an excellent nursery and the staff are all very supportive and helpful. They have done an amazing job in helping my child along his development journey, and they always go out of their way to help with any challenges your child may have in and out of nursery. I have always received useful tips
to use at home. The staff are all highly skilled, very experienced and above all, very caring!
I would highly recommend this nursery to everyone.

Would highly recommend the nursery, everyone is extremely friendly.
I feel he is taken good care of, and I have no worries with him being there for the day.
The times are great as I start work early in the morning.

I can not praise Westwood Day Nursery enough for how amazing it is. My child started back in June and having been away for so long I expected some sort of resistance, however, with the help of happy encouraging staff who come outside to greet him every day, this makes dropping him off and going in
so easy. I find that he is happy and content at the nursery and looks forward to going. He gets the best variety of meals and snacks there which is brilliant as he can be fussy at home but seems to eat everything made at nursery!
I would also like to praise the nursery for how well they kept in touch with us parents over the months they were closed. We had emails giving us activities to do each week. Ideas on how to keep on little ones engaged and learning, and also how the nursery was making the changes to welcome us back. These emails and information were vital in keeping our spirits up and knowing that it wouldn't be long before they would be back playing with their friends.

My youngest son is nearing the end of his time at Westwood, having attended full time from 10 months - his starting school in September will mark the first time in six and a half years that we haven't had a child at Westwood. Both of our boys loved their time - the staff are caring and encouraging,
and forge great bonds with the children. The catering is outstanding with a good range of fresh healthy meals cooked on site, and dietary requirements, including vegetarian in our case, well catered for - we've especially appreciated being able to arrange for the kitchen to create birthday cakes that all of the children are able to share and enjoy. The space is kept clean and the range of toys and learning resources is excellent. Our boys have been very happy, and from pre-school, very well prepared for the transition to school. They will miss Westwood, and so will we.

Westwood nursery has been our nursery of choice for 6 years now. My elder son was here from the age of 10 months - 4 years old. Now my youngest son is here - he absolutely loves it! Both have flourished here and are so content. The staff are always approachable, friendly and great at giving advice.
They focus on building solid relationships with the children and care for them very well. I have already recommended this nursery to family and friends. Keep up the amazing work that you all do - thank you.

Both of my children have attended Westwood and even though there is 5 years between them the care they both received about been outstanding. The meals that are provided have such a good balance and my daughter always enjoys them. Although this has been a tricky time nursery has continued to support
us as a family sending emails of updates and activities to do. They have really supported my daughter with the transition of coming back into nursery after 4 months away. Also, the staff are all amazing and so caring.

My 2-year-old daughter has been attending this nursery for a year now and we are very happy with her placement. They do a good mix of activities and learning and lots of outdoor time. I also like that they give a great variety of food at mealtimes. The staff are great and very helpful and happy to answer
any questions. My daughter is always excited to go and see her friends and the staff, I would highly recommend Westwood.

We have had nothing but a positive experience with this nursery. Our daughter has been there for about 6 months and she loves it as well as everyone who cares for her. Her development is recorded and we are involved in all of it. During COVID and reopening they have been outstanding at making us comfortable

Since my child joined nursery in 2017, my daughter has developed in so many ways. She is more confident and balanced and loves going to the nursery every afternoon. We love all the teachers who are warm, caring and very professional. I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents. Thank

We cannot fault this nursery - all staff go above and beyond their duties and we are so pleased that we chose this nursery for our son. He has been attending the nursery 2 days per week for almost 2 years now and we are extremely happy to see the bond he has made between his key workers and the other
children. Every aspect of the nursery is of an excellent standard and we would not hesitate to recommend this nursery to any parent. Our son absolutely loves going to nursery and looks forward to his days spent there every single week.

I couldn’t rate Westwood any higher. The staff are all amazing, the building is great for kids. Both my children have loved nursery and all the teachers. I couldn’t fault anything at all. Such a lovely and nurturing environment.

We're really happy with the Services provided by the Childbase team at Westwood Nursery. Out daughter settled really well when moving from another nursery, and continues to enjoy her time there. My son has attended Westwood Day Nursery parttime since he was 11 months old (he turns three this month). Throughout this time, I have been nothing but impressed by the lovely nursery staff, range of educational activities, outside facilities and high standards of cleanliness. I have happily recommended
the nursery to friends and colleagues.
The atmosphere is so warm, welcoming and friendly and my son absolutely loves his time here. Everyone welcomes him by name with a big smile each morning and I feel completely comfortable leaving him in their care. Nothing is ever too much trouble and I feel that I can mention any questions or concerns and the staff will happily advise us using their wealth of experience and knowledge about my son.
It truly feels like a home from home for my son and he has developed so much in his time here. He can't wait to return back to nursery and see all of his friends, as soon as it is safe to do so.

My daughter loves the nursery and loves to wave to all the staff as she leaves. The times she is sad when we are dropping her off, she will go to them for comfort but that seems to be quite rare, as she tends to go up to them for cuddles regardless. She seems to have a healthier and more varied diet
than myself and she always seems to come home with new skills.

I cannot recommend Westwood enough.
Both of our children are there and they are so happy, cared for, nurtured and looked after.
To leave them there when I go to work is akin to leaving them with family. It is such a perfect place and when the time comes for them to move on, we’ll (and our children
will too no doubt) be so sad. Thank you to all of the staff there for all that they do.

Lyndsey Matthews

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Lyndsey is currently the Manager of Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry and has a wealth of experience, having worked with children for the past 20 years. Lyndsey has 18 years of experience in Early Years, all of which were with Childbase where she started as an Apprentice, progressing from a qualified practitioner to room leader, team leader and then Deputy. Lyndsey is NVQ Level 3 qualified in Children's Care, Learning and Development.


What is your favourite feature of your nursery?
The fact the rooms have their own gardens and can free flow throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
The relationships we have with our parents, the staff know the families so well including myself which means we are able to support them in all areas of their lives. It also means they are so much more engaged when it comes to events at nursery.
