RGS Springfield Nursery provides outstanding care to children aged 2 to 4 and offers a magical first experience of school and the RGS family. The nursery is a safe, caring environment with a nurturing ethos, which combine to create a homely setting for children to thrive and grow.

Set in a beautiful Georgian building in the quiet haven of Britannia Square in Worcester, the nursery is well-equipped, has beautiful grounds and a walled garden for outdoor play and Forest School. Nursery children also benefit from the opportunities available by being part of RGS Springfield, a leading Independent Prep school in Worcestershire. The varied learning programme includes high-quality teaching in music, dance and French.

This is a key time in a child’s development and the dedicated nursery practitioners are experts in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. They use a combination of play, child-initiated and teacher-led activities that excite a joy for learning and provide and stimulating environment for children.

Nutritious cooked lunches are prepared on-site each day, ensuring children enjoy a healthy and well-balanced diet. The Nursery is open 8am to 6pm and provides flexible sessions Monday to Friday.

The latest ISI report found RGS Worcester family of schools to be ‘Excellent’ and ‘Outstanding’ in all areas.

Funding & Fees Guide for RGS Springfield Nursery

  • From September 2024 Nursery Fees will be:
    Nursery full-time termly charge is £4,244.
    For those not attending full-time the daily charge is £79.00 (7.45am – 6.00pm) or half day £59.00 (7.45am – 1.00pm including lunch).

  • We offer 15 and 30 hours through the Government Funding scheme from the term following your child’s 3rd birthday until they reach 5 years of age. This is subject to attending a minimum of 3 sessions per week. From April 2024 all working parents of children aged 2 years may also access 15 funded hours per week which will rise to 30 funded hours for 2 year olds from September 2025.

The care and support my children have received while in the care of RGS Springfield Nursery has been exceptional. They always come home with the biggest smiles on their faces and talk so highly of all the staff. We couldn't think of a better place for our children to start their educational journey.
It truly is a wonderful place.

RGS Springfield Nursery is a warm, welcoming place for little ones. The staff are full of enthusiasm and create the most fun and engaging activities, making the nursery a truly magical learning environment. Whether it's a trip to the local care home, and adventure in Forest School or being out and about
in the community, the children get to experience so many enriching activities. Nothing can beat the incredible family feel in nursery. This is all down to the care, dedication and incredible skills of the whole Early Years team. We cannot praise them enough.

We really love the RGS Springfield Nursery. Our daughter is thriving every day. She specifically loves the forest school and ballet. The nursery staff are very friendly and helpful. There are many different activities each week - indoors and outdoors. In February, all children went to the forest school
and had hot chocolate and biscuits. We would really recommend the RGS Springsfield Nursery.

This nursery is incredible! The facilities available to the children are second to none - lots of space both inside and out for them to explore and play. With the staff setting up new and exciting things for the children every single day.
The staff take great care and pride when looking after all
the children and really take the time to get to know each of them individually - so that they can ensure that they always have the best day possible. They also regularly take them out on trips in the community (weekly) and other fun activities (termly).
They really take the time to settle children too - offering multiple settling sessions so that the transition to being there for more than an hour or two is taken at the child's pace. I loved this for my little girl, who had never been cared for by anyone other than me before going here. They also ensured that the right member of staff (and the same member of staff) was on hand to take care of her too. Overall a truly amazing nursery.

Where do I even start, the girls in the nursery are the most amazing team of early years professionals, they care and nurture all the children in their care from a personal experience of the continuous support they have given our SEN son to ensure he is offered equal opportunities, exposed to an inclusive
environment and the support they give us as parents are second to none. It truly has been the best possible start for him! Forever grateful we found RGS Springfield and all its lovely learning opportunities from their beautiful forest school to French and music lessons!

I have been meaning to write this review for a very long time! Apologies team!
In a nutshell: This is the most amazing nursery in Worcester, the staff are an absolute credit to the ‘RGS family’. They are thoughtful, non-judgmental, caring and utterly amazing. I am a local GP and working mom, it is
very rare I get to write review however I appreciate how important it is to share your experiences. My little girl was a ‘Covid baby’, born end of 2019 so most of her first years we’re spent in isolation from family and friends. Although she is a very confident and charismatic little soul amongst family, she has always struggled with others. The staff at RGS Springfield nursery were so amazing and patient with settling her in. RGS springfield is the only place I will feel confident to leave my children, they are amazing, I smile leaving my child with them. It has seriously made me consider private schooling. Thank you to everyone.

We have been extremely happy with RGS Springfield. Ever since our son started almost two years ago he has loved going to nursery and comes home with a huge smile on his face. The staff have a wealth of expertise and experience, meaning we always feel that we are leaving him in safe hands. He thrives
at nursery and is exposed to a wide range of amazing opportunities and experiences. He has also made a lovely group of friends. The nursery is a very happy place to be.

My daughter started the nursery immediately after she was two, as she hasn't been to many public places during the pandemic, she wasn't very ready for nursery or leaving her mummy. The staff have been a great help to assist my daughter to settle down and make her feel comfortable to stay longer and
longer during the day in a short period. I really appreciate the care and patience of all the staff. My daughter has grown so much and really comes out to be a lively and polite young person since she started with RGS Springfield Nursery. I'm so happy and thank you to everyone at Springfield Nursery.

An absolutely fantastic nursery. The staff are so kind and welcoming; they go above and beyond to ensure my daughter enjoys every session.
Her language skills have developed greatly since starting at Springfield, which is down to the staff and the activities she takes part in.
The forest school is
wonderful, and my daughter cannot wait to get to the nursery on a Monday to attend.
I would not hesitate to recommend Springfield to any parent looking for a kind, nurturing and supportive environment for their child.

Our daughter has only recently started at RGS Springfield Nursery. From the first time we contacted the school, the communication has been excellent. All the staff involved took the utmost care to ensure she had a gentle introduction and a tailored settling-in period for which we are so grateful. She
loves her sessions and gets to take part in a wide range of activities. We have honestly seen her develop so much in her short time there and would like to thank all the staff for this.

A truly amazing school with an unbelievable team of staff. Both my children have come through their system and believe they are the children they are today from the kind and loving service that RGS Springfield Nursery has provided. We have been blown away by how lovely and caring all of the staff are. Our son has settled in so well and absolutely loves going to nursery. On the days he is there we feel very happy knowing he is in excellent hands. All of the staff are lovely and clearly care a lot about the children they work with.
All the staff are friendly, we really feel like they know him and take a genuine interest in him! A big thank you to all of the staff who work so hard to make it a great experience.

My daughter has been at RGS Springfield Nursery for over a year and I am incredibly happy with the care she receives. The staff are incredible, they are warm, caring, inspiring and fun and they go out of their way to ensure that the children are happy and nurtured. My daughter can be a little nervous
in new situations and the staff have worked with us both to best support her and increase her confidence. I have witnessed a tremendous change in her confidence and a reduction in general anxiousness. I feel very fortunate that we have this support. My daughter also follows a specific diet and the school has happily catered to this so that she never feels left out. They have forest school, music, PE, yoga, French, and cookery, amongst other activities, and we receive updates on our children's day via an app, which is very much appreciated. The staff also conduct regular assessments on the children's development. RGS Springfield is an outstanding nursery in every sense.

Our son has recently started at Springfield and we are so happy with how he has settled there. The staff have been kind and nurturing from when they first showed us around to his settle sessions and now he has started there. It is lovely to receive regular pictures of him via the app, smiling and enjoying
the varied indoor and outdoor activities the team plan for the children. He shouts 'hooray!' as we walk up the drive which says it all really!

My daughter loves going to nursery at Springfield. I love that the small classes have mixed age groups which has brought additional experiences learning from the older children and caring for the younger ones as they move up from tadpoles to frogs.
The outdoor space is exceptional with lots of outdoor
play and forest schools.
The teachers care deeply for the children and parents and give them the best possible start before starting school from self-care, friendships, Maths, English and confidence building. Thanks.

RGS Springfield is a welcoming, homely community. It is set in the most beautiful grounds and every child is treated as an individual. My 2.5yr old started off incredibly nervous and unsure of going to school but 2 months later, he runs out of the car and does not look back. His key workers and the
nursery staff have been exceptional, spending time to get to know him and showing him the care and support that I would show him and that he needs. Since starting at RGS Springfield he has come on leaps and bounds, although it is a caring nursery environment, the educational side is clear, it's very different from other nurseries in that respect. The secure outside space is brilliant and the specialist lessons are brilliant. My highlight so far has been the nativity which was outside in Forest School and in candlelight. Pure magic.
