Winterfold House Kindergarten provides exceptional care for children aged between 2 and 4 years old. The highly trained and experienced staff ensure that children are cared for in a nurturing and stimulating environment. The Kindergarten is located in the heart of the school's Pre-Prep department and forms an integral part of the Early Years offering.

Children benefit from dedicated learning spaces and have access to everything that Winterfold House Prep School has to offer. Facilities for the school's youngest pupils are second to none. A full enrichment programme is woven into daily life with children taking part in weekly cooking, gardening, music, PE and Forest School sessions.

Funding & Fees Guide for Winterfold House Kindergarten

  • At Winterfold Pre-School, we offer the universal 15 free childcare hours for all 3 & 4 year olds; 30 free hours for eligible 3 & 4 year olds and 15 free hours for eligible 2 year olds. All 3 & 4 year olds can access 15 free hours of childcare starting on 1st January, 1st April and 1st September following their 3rd birthday and ending the term that they turn 5. The School accepts childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare payments.

Kindergarten is an asset to Winterfold. My boys joined at 9 months old & have flourished in their early years. The experiences they have, with the new addition of Peacock Lodge, give them adventure + curiosity to the world around them. Staff are kind, nurturing + approachable, whom I trust implicitly
with my children.

My granddaughter started in kindergarten with a medical condition, the severity of which was unknown to us at the time. As her condition has worsened the school as a whole and in particular kindergarten staff have been truly amazing. The love + care that has been shown by staff + children throughout
the school has made a very difficult situation so much more bearable
As grandparents we are involved in the care of our granddaughter due to her parent's work commitments. The support + care of the staff has made this responsibility so much easier to deal with. Our only regret is that due to her needs our granddaughter will be unable to continue her education at the nursery.

Winterfold Kindergarten has been an incredible and nurturing place for my daughter. The staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle in, despite this being her first experience in a nursery or school setting. I couldn't be happier with my decision to choose Winterfold, as every day we are met
with a warm welcome from her teacher and the entire team. The positive changes in her development since starting Kindergarten have been remarkable and the progress she has made is clearly reflected in her work. I am truly grateful and cannot thank her wonderful teacher and the amazing support staff enough for their care and dedication.

I cannot express how much Winterfold has done for our daughter. They go above and beyond to ensure she is looked after, supported and that communication is a priority.
We feel very lucky to have had the staff to educate our daughter.
The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is open, warm and friendly.
The
SEN team is exceptional. They are always one step ahead and their knowledge is excellent.
Very proud we are part of the Winterfold community.

My daughter went to nursery at Woodhouse at Winterfold and then went into KG1 and is now in KG2. I couldn't have a happier child. She adored her teacher in KG1 and equally adores all of her other teachers. They all have so much time for each child and it shows so much! I think she enjoys the outdoor
space a lot and especially all of her forest school activities.
My youngest will be starting KG1 after nursery and she is very happy there too.
I would highly recommend the school.

My daughter has attended Winterfold House Kindergarten since Sept 2023. She has definitely learnt a lot, has developed better listening skills, has developed social skills, and has better concentration level;
My daughter is a keen learner and is always very enthusiastic and with the support of the
staff, she is able to enjoy her learning and developing journey. The facilities at Winterfold are much to the advantage of my daughter who loves outdoor playtime, especially forest school.

I would highly recommend Winterfold Kindergarten. My daughter went there for a year prior to her going onto the main school. The staff are warm, kind, professional and are always greeted my child with a smile. My daughter was made to feel part of the Winterfold Family. They are nurturing and just overall
wonderful people. My daughter loved going to Kindergarten and we were always communicated with about her day. They make an effort to know and understand every child. Thank you Winterfold for helping shape my child to who they are today.

I cannot recommend the kindergarten at Winterfold House highly enough. My two boys have both been through the kindergarten and now go to the school. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They take so much pride in their work and are incredibly nurturing towards the children. They certainly go above and
beyond. The facilities available to the children are second to none, including a fantastic forest school environment. The kindergarten gave my boys a fantastic start to their education. Thank you so much Winterfold!

My son began Kindergarten in January 2024, and it was the best choice I made by enrolling him in this school. They offer an ideal balance for children, along with outstanding facilities for both outdoor and indoor play. I wholeheartedly recommend Winterfold.
