The team at Little Stars Childcare in Westlands are dedicated to nurturing bright futures for children aged 0 to 11 years. Located at Ostend Place, Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire ST5 2QY, on the grounds of Westlands Primary School and Newcastle Academy, they are open 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Their planned activities align with the Early Years Foundation Stage for children from birth to five years. While they follow structured plans, they also encourage spontaneous, child-led play, allowing each child to thrive as an individual. They recognise that play is a vital part of learning and development.

  • £57.00 per day


  • Price Structure


    Please contact us for our current prices and offers. A detailed invoice will be issued at the beginning of each month through the Famly App. We accept voucher payments for example Sodexo & Edenred.


    Nursery 0 to 3 years


    £57.00 per full day includes lunch (7.30am until 6.00pm)


    £2.50 per lunch


    The *NEW* Nursery Education Funding for 9 month olds is 15 hours funded between 8.30am and 4.00pm over 2 days.


    Preschool


    £7.40 per hour


    NEF (Nursery Education Funding is 15 or 30 hours deducted between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm) Children wanting term time care only will not be charged a retainer fee if accessing the NEF, full fees will be charged when a child is booked in for a session but does not attend.


    No fees are charged when the nursery is closed.


    We offer a 10% discount for siblings off the total fee for full time spaces only.


    We will provide the children with snacks and drinks throughout the day.

Couldn't ask for better care and provision for my child. He loves nursery days so much and is always happy to attend.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they all seem to have a special bond with the children.
There is an online portal which keeps parents updated daily on things like what
food they have eaten, sleep times, achievements, observations, and weekly updates highlighting what the children have been learning about that week and what they will be learning about the following week.

My daughter started Little Stars before and after school club from 4 years old and settled in so well . The staff are so supportive and nothing is never too much trouble. My daughter is always happy and loves going. They do lots of excellent activities and would highly recommend them.

My little one has formed a beautiful bond with the staff here, they are caring, supportive and encouraging him to enjoy learning through play and various activities. I cannot fault this care setting and would recommend it to others. I would even go as far as to say it has been better than sending him
to the child minder which we had previously being with children of the same age has had a real positive impact on his development

Excellent staff. My girl has always lived going to nursery here and the care she receives is commendable. Our son absolutely loves his time at this nursery, and we couldn't be happier with the care and support he receives. The staff are incredibly warm, nurturing, and attentive, creating a safe and stimulating environment where he thrives every day. The facilities are excellent, with plenty of engaging
activities both indoors and outdoors, ensuring a great balance of learning and play. The outdoor space is fantastic, providing lots of opportunities for fresh air and exploration, which our son thoroughly enjoys. We've noticed such positive development in his confidence, social skills, and overall happiness since starting here. The communication from the nursery is also excellent, keeping us informed and reassured about his progress. We're really happy with Little Stars! Most importantly, my child loves it there, which gives me so much peace of mind. The staff are genuinely caring and loving toward the kids, creating a warm and nurturing environment. There are plenty of activities to keep the children engaged and learning, and my
child always comes home excited about what they've done. The nursery does have a strict sickness policy, requiring 48 hours at home if your child is unwell, which can be inconvenient-especially as fees still apply during that time. One small issue is occasional gaps in communication through the app. Sometimes details about meals or nappy changes are missing, and it can be unclear if certain things, like bowel movements, have been tracked accurately. Overall, my child is happy and thriving, and that's what matters most to us.

Since attending Little Stars, my little boy has come on leaps and bounds in every way! He was a very shy little boy and now he is full of confidence! Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff go above and beyond. I couldn't think of a better nursery to send my children to, and I would highly recommend

Always been happy with the nursery and staff. I would like more notification regarding reading material used and activities planned (in advance, not on the day) which would enable me to encourage my child and familiarise himself with planned reading, etc. - and be able to carry on at home. I appreciate
our lovely British weather, however I would like to see more outdoor activities - walking, foraging and just generally playing outdoors. The outside area of the nursery is full of toys, etc. but natural logs and areas of exploration would be nice, rather than just plastic ladders into plastic 'castles' etc. Perhaps a small raised planting area for the children to grow and look after plants/herbs/veg? I've never been into the nursery but feel that this should be permitted as I'd quite like to see the space that my child spends his day in.

We couldn't be happier with Little Stars Nursery and the amazing care they provide for my daughter. While she might feel a little unsettled during drop-offs, we are always reassured by how quickly she settles in, thanks to the warm and nurturing staff. The regular updates we receive through the app
are absolutely brilliant and give us such peace of mind, knowing she is in the best hands. The activities they plan for the children are fantastic, and the thoughtful keepsakes they send home are so special to us. An outstanding provider in our opinion. Little stars really get to know your child and we've had two go through nursery and preschool there as well as using their wrap-around care. Our two boys love it as they go above and beyond to ensure the children enjoy attending every day whilst keeping us as

The staff at Little Stars Childcare have been a blessing since my children started nursery in September 2024. Going above and beyond to make sure they are settled, and following routines set at home to help us as parents too. Encouraging and achieving potty training for my eldest, and supporting my
youngest emotionally whilst settling in to his new environment. Each member of staff have a 'homely' approach and care for my children as their own, giving them one on one support, love and attention - this is now reflected in how much they love going and I feel such ease dropping them off to people I know care and love them. Special mentions to several members of staff for being my little boys bestfriends. To staff always going above and beyond for each child and making them feel at home.

Little Stars has been incredible with our daughter since she was 9 months old to now being almost 3. She's come on so far, especially in her confidence and the team there has had a big role to play in that. Everyone has been so kind and amazing with our daughter and ourselves too. They really seem to
engage with the children and take an interest in their lives inside and outside of nursery. Everyone we have ever met there has been nothing but kind. I can't say enough positive about Little Stars, they are truly the most amazing nursery and preschool any child could wish for. I have two young children both started in the baby nursery and have worked their way through to preschool and they also attend the after-school club and holiday club too. To
watch your children be so supported and cared for by the most incredible staff is truly the best feeling. They support they care and they make every child's journey an individual one to them and bring out the best in them in every way possible allowing them to be their very own personality and person. They encourage fun and learning all in one and nothing is ever too much and just to feel and see how much they care is everything enabling myself to continue in a career and know my children are happy and adored in there amazing child care they provide. 10-star review always.
