The Old School is a nursery set in the countryside between Coventry and Nuneaton.

Part of the Tommies Childcare family, the nursery's qualified and experienced team pride themselves in creating warm, vibrant and interactive environments which allow children to learn and have fun.

The Old School's baby room includes its own messy play area for babies up to the age of two-years-old.

Toddlers and pre-school children have their own spacious room which holds a range of resources and play-rich environments that develop learning.

This amazing nursery has looked after my son for 4 1/2 years. They have cared for him and helped him develop into a happy and contented boy.
Nothing is too much trouble. We will miss the nursery and staff as he leaves to go to school.

The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-school have looked after my son for over 18 months. Since January 2018 he has attended full-time and has thrived in the environment which has nurtured his interests, helped him become a confident and assertive boy while tending to his health concerns.


The staff always

provide relevant feedback and communication is good on a daily basis. In the last few weeks, the nursery staff have put all their efforts into fundraising for the Children's Hospital (who look after my son) and raised over £600 while having so much fun and getting all of the children involved. Amazing! Well done!

This nursery provides an amazing atmosphere for children, the staff are extremely welcoming to both parents and the children. My son gets so excited as soon as we pull into the car park here.

I was initially very nervous sending my son to nursery but he settled in straight away. All of the staff are extremely helpful and caring. I couldn't have asked for more.

My son loves attending The Old School Day Nursery & Pre-School since day one the staff have been welcoming and professional. There is always a wide range of activities for the children to take part in, so each day is a different experience. The staff always update me on my son's progress and the general
communication between us is excellent. I am fully informed and aware of what has happened in the day. I would highly recommend our nursery as it is a wonderful place for children to thrive.

When looking for a nursery for my 6-month-old (and my first child) I was fairly certain about what I wanted and The Old School Day Nursery ticked the boxes! It is small and personal; I feel like my child is loved and looked after as if she were one of the staff members' own children. It is beautiful
inside, with lots for the children to do and not overcrowded. Being a small nursery I feel like the staff who work there (and the other children) have really gotten to know my baby and vice versa, which enables me to go to work and do my job without worrying if my little girl will be OK. I love the surroundings of the nursery and they have really made use of the outside space that they have, with lots of different things to keep the children occupied. The handovers are always thorough and I always feel as if my child has had a great morning. I would highly recommend the nursery to anyone looking for that personal touch as I'm really happy with everything that they are doing. Thank you!!

Since joining 2 years ago, I feel my children (1 & 2.5) have received fantastic supervision, care, guidance and support during their nursery stay. Starting in the baby room, the dedicated area has always been an area of constant change with regards to facilities and sensory items. This was the selling
point to join; having a bespoke room for babies. The main room is a good size to accommodate toddlers/pre-school - room for toys, play, painting, and art/craft etc. The outside play area has plenty to offer, lots of equipment, but a very safe and clean environment.


The staffing in the 2 years has gone through quite a lot of change but since the employment of the new current management. Vast improvements have been made in retention, modernisation and overall performance through-out the Old School, which has had, noticeable positive affects on the children. The staff make this nursery!!!
I would fully endorse the Old School to anyone looking for a nursery.

Such a lovely nursery, all the staff are fun, helpful and friendly and they have such great relationships with the children. My child loves going here. It is also in such a lovely rural setting and only has a small number of children to each child carer. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Both my girls have been here for the past two years they have enjoyed every minute. The setting is like home from home. The staff have been amazing throughout. I can't recommend this nursery enough. Lovely, small nursery with a family feel. The new manager has made an immediate impact and the nursery has recently been refurbished inside and out. The staff make sure the children enjoy lots of time outside and regularly take them on walks in the surrounding countryside. The nursery introduced a new
food provider a few months ago and my son enjoys a wide variety of meals.


My son has attended The Old School since he was a baby and has thrived in the baby room, toddler room and now in pre-school. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Being in the setting has provided our son with a wealth of confidence and has provided him with a fantastic grounding for starting school.
The staff have also taken the time to help develop and nurture his interest in numeracy and literacy and encouraged his learning.
They have recognised his natural

The staff are friendly and helpful and I feel my son is safe. I don't like the parking, not convenient, people block each other. There are not many outings apart from the small yard outside. It would be good to have day trips. The food is not the best. The ingredients are of a low quality such as "value"
ham. The choice should be better with more fruit and vegetables.

My two boys thoroughly enjoy the nursery. The staff are so helpful and tuned into what my boys need. They constantly encourage to be "them" and enjoy their day. Really rate all of the staff, setting and other kids attending.

My son has attended Tommies from a baby and he's now a confident toddler who is thriving at nursery. He loves the outside space and walks to Astley Castle as well as the sensory play and role play that nursery pit a lot of time and effort into.

Hello,


My name is Stacey Scott and I proudly hold the Nursery Manager position here at The Old School.


I joined Tommies in 2014 and have progressed in my career, starting initially as a Lunchtime Assistant before joining one of our other nurseries as a full-time Nursery Practitioner. Since then, I have worked hard to develop my skillset and take on more and more management duties, taking up positions as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager, and I am now embarking on my new role as Nursery Manager.


I have been inspired to work in childcare since I was a teenager. I love the joy that children bring and knew that working with them full-time was the right path for me. It’s not without challenges, but I enjoy them as much as spending a day with young children. No day is ever the same, and I’m continually amazed by how children develop and learn.


I look forward to meeting you (the parents) and your little ones at the start and throughout your early years journey with us. With that in mind, please arrange your visit today.
