Child 1st Bakewell was acquired in February 2017, and is based within a stunning Grade ll listed building nestled in the heart of the town of Bakewell in Derbyshire.

A range of child-led and adult-led approaches to learning and exploration are provided by an experienced and motivated staff team.

This welcoming provision is a safe 'home from home' for young children to develop and grow in confidence, playing and learning with their peers.

The chef creates a daily menu of tasty and delicious fresh meals. Any special dietary requirements are taken into account.

Since my son started at this nursery he has massively improved in so many ways. His confidence has boosted, his learning skills have grown massively and his shy,
clingy character has almost gone. The staff are great with all the children and are very professional. I couldn’t recommend this place
enough!

My little lady has been attending Child 1st nursery since 2017.
I cannot recommend this nursery enough.
My daughter is always eager to go and is always in a bright happy mood when collected and chats endlessly about the friends she has there and staff.
She loves Forest School, is out in the lovely
play area and garden they have regularly (weather permitting) bright, rosy and fresh.
Staff are always very informant on what they have been up to during the day and when potty training they were very "hands on".
I feel very content knowing she's having a lovely day and being looked after so well.
Sadly I am not "planning" any more babies and will be very sad to say goodbye in July 2019 but also very grateful for helping me to bring up a very confident little lady ready for the challenges of school.
Thank you for always going that extra mile. A-star.

Extremely happy with the level of care provided for my daughter. Lovely safe clean environment. Brilliant, friendly staff always reassuring to child and parent. Would recommend in a heartbeat. The progression I’ve seen in my daughter since she started has been amazing.

We have had our younger child here for 3 years up to end of July 2018.
He has loved his time there and it was often a struggle to get him to leave at the end of the day.
There is a caring secure environment.
The staff have been without exception excellent.

Our daughter has only been attending nursery a few weeks and has been very unsettled. However, the staff are amazing and reassure us she will be fine.

Great nursery, lovely friendly and knowledgeable staff and good provisions. My daughter has made excellent progress since being there.

Caring staff, spacious outdoor play area, lots of creative decorations to stimulate children's imagination. It took a while for our daughter to settle in but she is now very happy there. They have some creative snack recipes to encourage children to eat vegetables and a lot of time is spent outside
when the weather allows.

My son has a dairy and soya intolerance and the nursery have been fantastic with dealing with it from day one. He is now in the preschool/foundation class but started in the baby unit and they have always done their best so that my son doesn't feel left out/different at snack at meal times.
My son
always has a fantastic time at the nursery and often does not want to leave.
The new forest fun on a Monday is something that he is especially enjoying.
All the staff are great and are always available to speak to if I have any concerns or questions.

I could not be happier than to have my child here with these amazing ladies!! My son is currently in the baby unit and the love and care they give are priceless!! He loves it, he's come out of his shell and he's so happy when I collect him!! They are on hand to help with anything and would not send
him or my next one anywhere else!!

Both my daughter (now 5) and son (2) love the nursery. Both started from 9 months old and were very well looked after. My daughter thrived at the nursery and learnt skills and made friends that made her ready to start school. My son enjoys going and we see a weekly progress. The staff are wonderful
at making the kids feel comfortable and happy, whilst still reinforcing suitable boundaries.

I am very happy with the nursery overall. My little girl loves her one day a week and seems to like the meals. I think it is brilliant that they receive all meals plus snacks and nappies and wipes in with the price. Overall the staff are all lovely and helpful and I would recommend to other people.

This Nursery has done nothing but support both my children who currently attend. I have seen a big difference in their social skills and communication skills and confidence. It was a shock to their system when they first started as they’d never been left with anyone other than grandparents. The Nursery
helped them settle in and now they love going. Nothing but praise!
