For older children the nursery is blessed with an amazing outdoor play area where children can freely explore, investigate, have fun and be physically challenged in the fresh air. Dance, age appropriate sport, gardening, cooking activities and languages are available to children. The cook prepares interesting fresh, nutritionally balanced meals daily. Being a child is about learning whilst having fun....!

My daughter started The Orange Tree Day Nursery in October 2020 and I have never felt at ease leaving her with the amazing staff. They have made me and my daughter feel like they are apart of our family. The staff and management team are friendly kind and always have time to talk. The staff are knowledgeable,
aware and give me feedback at the end of the day. They are always positive and encourage this behaviour within the nursery setting. There safeguarding policy is great and all the staff members are knowledgeable and have a good understanding of this topic. I can say that the nursery is outstanding with amazing, friendly staff and management.

An excellent nursery that is well run with professional, friendly and caring staff. My daughter loves going here and she has developed so much since starting. I am very pleased I chose this nursery and I would definitely recommend it.

The Orange Tree Day Nursery & Mickleover is a fantastic nursery. Our daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and she has really developed and grown during her time there! We have been very happy with the wonderful care she has received whilst at nursery.

From the moment we first visited The Orange Tree we absolutely loved it. My son has been there since he was one and he's about to head up to pre-school now. The nursery staff are amazing, as my son has transitioned through each of the rooms they couldn't have been more accommodating. There doesn't seem
to be a big turnover of staff which is a very good thing and my son has really been able to build a connection with all the staff, not just his immediate key workers.
They do amazing innovative activities and it's incredible how much they do with the kids. The app is a brilliant way to keep in touch and see pictures of what my son is doing there and hearing things he's said. I feel like we've got a real connection with the nursery and will be sad when it's time for my son to move on, he's made some lovely little friends there too. During the Coronavirus pandemic, nursery have been brilliant and I'm so grateful for how supportive they've been, don't know what we would've done without them!

Both of my children have been to this nursery over the last six years and it is truly the best. The staff are always so friendly and happy to see the children. They are always so accommodating to children’s needs. The massive garden and open space is amazing. My children always come home happy and excited
about their day at nursery.

My daughter has been part of The Orange Tree family for almost a year and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this to be her nursery. As soon as I set foot in The Orange Tree, I just knew it was where I wanted my daughter to go. Every single member of staff goes above and beyond, my daughter is so
happy and absolutely loves it. She is always coming home with pictures and other arts and crafts that she has made, she eats varied healthy meals each day and above all else I know I am leaving her in safe hands which puts my mind completely at ease. The outside space is incredible, unlike anywhere else you will see, the children have the most amazing outdoor setting to play in throughout the year. In these unprecedented times, we find ourselves in, the staff at The Orange Tree have kept in touch with us every step of the way and have even done video calls every morning for the children which is just amazing. We just love it there and literally don’t have a bad word to say.

My daughter has been coming to this nursery since she was six months old. She absolutely loves it here and always has a great day. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. I can always be sure that she is safe and well. The facilities are plentiful and clean, with a wonderful outdoor area.
I have huge confidence in this nursery and feel that my daughter has grown and developed hugely from it.

Our children are both so happy as part of The Orange Tree family. The nursery itself has fantastic facilities with the best outdoor space of anywhere we visited. We love that our children use the orchard every day to explore and have fun with their friends. The staff are all professional and knowledgeable
and plan activities that cover the curriculum creatively. Our children are both making fantastic progress but it is the focus on their emotional development and the encouragement to be determined, independent little thinkers that celebrate their successes that we really appreciate. I have recommended The Orange Tree to many of my friends and will continue to do so.

The Orange Tree Day Nursery has been everything we could wish for from a nursery.
The building itself is warm, welcoming and safe with spacious, colourful rooms for the children. The outdoor areas are fantastic, with the orchard being an amazing, secure space for the children to run around.
The staff
have been wonderful from day one and have become a special part of our daughter's life. We have great relationships with them and feel that the staff are very accommodating of any requests. Staff go the extra mile to make sure they provide care that is tailored to the children and their individual needs, as well as providing extensive provision.
Since our daughter started at the age of 10 months old, she has made friends, learnt many new skills and has really enjoyed her time in both rooms (baby and under twos). She is comfortable and happy at The Orange Tree and we love seeing the smile on her face, after a day at nursery.
I highly recommend the nursery to anyone.

A fantastic nursery in a beautiful rural setting with lovely, spacious outdoor areas. The staff are warm and caring, and genuinely seem invested in your children. Activities are creative and varied, food is healthy and nutritious and the children have great fun. Highly recommended.

My daughter has now been at The Orange Tree @ Mickleover for over two and a half years. She has received a warm welcome into all three of the units she has been in and developed strong relationships with the staff. There are lots of lovely facilities at the nursery and they are constantly working on
improvements and adding new learning aids and activities. Zebra Orange Tree, Mickleover has a fabulous outdoor space The Orchard which is an amazing space for the children to play and learn. We have always been very happy with the Orange Tree and I always have complete peace of mind leaving my daughter in their care. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a safe, quality child care provider with excellent staff and facilities.

Absolutely delighted with our daughters first time at nursery. Previous to finding this nursery we had a bad experience with another nursery at a settling in session. We came across The Orange Tree Day Nursery through the internet. We rang and were offered a look around the next day, when we arrived
we were taken to look around all rooms and explained the days routine. Lovely staff with very welcoming attitudes. We're so happy our little girl is settled here and can't thank the staff enough.

The Orange Tree Day Nursery has been fantastic for my son and I can’t praise the staff enough. As an anxious mother, I struggled to leave my son and he was also upset however his key worker was amazing with him (and me) and they have now formed a lovely bond. He loves to give her lots of cuddles. His
key worker, unfortunately, has moved rooms now but my son has managed really well and has now formed new relationships with the staff. So thank you all.

Despite the huge change and move to a bigger property, Orange Tree remained a warm and welcoming place for our daughter. High turnover of the caring staff doesn't slow her progress in learning new skills.
Regular reviews would be a bonus.

Orange Tree Nursery is a fabulous nursery, I always rave on about it to my friends with children. The staff are amazing and the building is fabulous I wouldn't take my child anywhere else and will be taking my 3-month-old there when we are back to work.

I would like to express our thanks and admiration for the job that you all do at The Orange Tree. Both our boys are so happy with you, and all of your staff clearly take so much time and effort with them both. All of the staff are outstanding, and their key workers frequently exceed all expectations.
There is never anything that is too much bother, and an upbeat flexible attitude to any issues that may arise.


I understand that toddlers can sometimes be a challenge and a handful, especially if teething/hungry/tired/ wet, but we are always so impressed by the way that team take this stuff in their stride, and look after the children with such kindness and patience. Thank you for all of the hard work that you put in behind the scenes managing and developing the nursery and employing such lovely staff.
Long may it continue !

This is a fantastic Day Nursery to send your little one to. Great staff who actually care about your child. Fab outside play area. Regular updates on your child's achievements. My little boy loves attending and has so much fun.

This nursery rescued my eldest daughter from a terrible nursery experience and assisted me with our journey when we became a family of another girl. They then went on to help when we took on my niece as well. So as a busy working mum to three beautiful girls, it was extremely important to me that all
three girls were and are happy going to nursery. The staff are all amazing, the facilities are exceptional and honestly, you would be daft to not send your children here!

Our son requires one to one care whilst at the nursery. He is 100% tube fed via his gastrostomy peg. He requires several different medications. They have embraced his needs with ease and have tried to accommodate any last minute changes with regards to hospital appointments etc where possible. We also
have an older daughter attending the same nursery and has made her transition joining the nursery at the age of 3. Although she was happy at her previous nursery which she had been attending since the age of 10 months old, the nursery made this a painless, stress-free process for all of us. She has settled extremely well.
Our son was recently very poorly and had to be admitted to hospital for a while. When he returned, we were given a lovely gift for him and a beautiful heartfelt card made by the other children's hand prints.
We can't thank them enough for the time and energy they have had to invest in order for a little boy with such complex needs to be given the opportunity like any other child.
