I had a great experience with the Cottage Day Nursery. My daughter attended in 2024 both branches - Bradford Street and Mickleaver. They provide a really good varied, the standards are quite high. She was happy there.
But in my opinion Mickleaver is will better. I would say excellent! The management
team is really good. They have an effective communication with parents and they are more flexible.

Wonderful experience at The Cottage Day Nursery! Our son attended The Cottage Day Nursery from September 2023 to August 2024, and we couldn't be happier with the progress he made. Shiv had delayed speech, but the staff provided excellent support, and we saw significant improvement in his language skills
over the year. The staff are warm, attentive, and truly care about each child's development. The nursery is well-managed, with fantastic facilities that keep the children engaged and learning through play. The meals provided are healthy and varied, which was a great plus for us. Overall, the nursery offers excellent value for money. The positive impact on our son's development has been invaluable, and we're so grateful for the care and attention he received. Thank you, Cottage Day Nursery, for making our son's year so special!

My daughter has attended The Cottage since she was 10 months old. The care, kindness and overall experience has been excellent. They literally go above and beyond and we have built a lovely relationship with all the staff. My daughter is always happy to go to nursery and she has the best time when she
is there. I cannot thank The Cottage enough for their reassurance throughout as it's not easy leaving your daughter in someone else care but you have made it completely stress-free. We are going to miss all the staff and I am sad my daughter is leaving. The food selection is amazing and my daughter has tried a wide variety of different and nutritious foods while she has been at the nursery. My daughter always participates in the most fun and educational activities while she is there. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff.

Absolutely love this place! First, my little boy joined at 16 months old his development came on leaps and bounds. His speech, communication and overall attachment issues, he loves coming here to see his friends then my daughter joined here at 13 weeks old due to university commitments and it was the
best decision. Now at 18 months old, I’m always complimented on her development and speech and also how polite and well-mannered she is so thank you to all the amazing girls at The Cottage for the time and effort they put into the children that attend the settings.

Brilliant nursery. The staff are so friendly and helpful and clearly enjoy working with children. My two kids settled quickly here and love going in. The outside space isn’t as extensive as some other nurseries but is well equipped and the kids get a lot of time outside in most weathers.

I find The Cottage a wonderful place for my child to go - he enjoys being there, has formed strong bonds with the staff and the activities and toys are perfect for encouraging him to explore new things, all the while developing his social and language skills. The staff look after him and care for him
as though he were their own, it is so comforting to know that he is going somewhere that he loves. Thank you to all of the team for everything that you do.

I cannot rate The Cottage, Mickleover Nursery highly enough.
Their attention to detail with nurturing individual interests, inspiring creativity as well as being completely flexible with dietary requirements is second to none.
My little boy has absolutely flourished, having started as a shy little
boy, he is now beaming with confidence, happy and learning new things every day.
Thank you to all the staff for caring for the children with as much empathy and kindness as they would their own.

Our first son started at The Cottage Day Nursery in 2019 and he was followed by his brother 3 years later. We couldn't have wished for a better nursery to look after our sons. From babies through to pre-school, the whole staff are amazingly dedicated to what they do. They create a culture of fun, learning

We are lucky to have The Cottage on Uttoxeter Road to look after both our daughter and son. We cannot ask for better childcare that leaves our minds at peace when we are at work. We are well informed of the progress of our children and the admin and in-house activities in the nursery. All the staff

My daughter had been going to the cottage since she was in babies, then toddlers and now in preschool, she has loved the whole experience and making new friends along the way it also helped being in the same building, she’s looking forward to school but will be sad to leave after all this time. They
have always made it special when it’s been Mother’s Day/Father’s Day and Christmas when she has brought things home she had made, and we loved watching the Christmas concert last year, and looking forward to her graduation in July.

All staff at The Cottage Day Nursery are amazing, the staff put your mind at ease when dropping off our daughter who loves going to nursery and always comes out with a massive smile on her face. We always get updates on the app of how their day is going which puts your mind at ease. We get lovely picture

A wonderful time at the cottage - my child has loved all the staff and making friends. The staff are always there to ask anything and help with anything. Always great at moving my child up to the different rooms when ready. My daughter always likes her meals and eats them well. She loves the outdoor
space and has always loved the little events held eg. For Mother’s Day etc.

My son has attended The Cottage Mickleover since 2018 at 9 months old and I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better nursery, so much so that my second son has also attended since 2021 at 8 months old. The staff are simply amazing, I’m so grateful to all, past and present who have cared for my boys.
They really have the children’s and parents' best interests at heart and their hard work and passion shine through on a daily basis.

Joined: 2015

Hi my name is Jodie and I have worked at The Cottage since 2015.

I started here as a Senior in our Baby & Toddler room, before becoming Senior of Toddlers and then Preschool. In 2020 I was promoted to Deputy Manager, being trained alongside our Proprietor. I then took on the full Nursery Manager role - it has been such a rewarding journey!

We are so proud to welcome prospective parents into our nursery to allow them to see the outstanding provision we have! Not least, our very dedicated and passionate staffing team who go above and beyond for all the little ones in their care and as a team, we consistently strive to drive provision forward and maintain the highest standards of childcare.
