Butterwick Preschool is conveniently situated on the same site as Butterwick Primary school. The team is dedicated to offering the highest quality of care and education for children aged 9 months to 11 years. The village is just a three-minute drive from the main A52 route to Skegness making Butterwick an ideal setting for commuting and local parents alike. The preschool is easy to find, friendly and has the local community at the heart of what the team do.

At Butterwick Preschool, staff nurture children to become independent, caring and resourceful members of society with family values and community at the heart of what they do. Established over 20 years ago, they pride themselves on being an integral part of not only the early education of local children but as an extension of support for families. They strive to give back to the community through their links with Butterwick Primary school and local businesses too.

My little girl started Butterwick Pre-School at the beginning of January, so only a short while ago but I’m so happy I chose this setting for her.
From the moment we looked round, I knew she would be happy here. In fact, on her two ‘settling in sessions’ she didn’t want to leave. That’s when you know
you have made the right choice.
In the space of a few short weeks, she has developed so much, especially her speech.
All of the ladies are lovely and welcoming and I had no concerns leaving my little girl with them. I knew she would be safe and well cared for.
The app is also brilliant so I can check in throughout the day and feel reassured that she’s having the best time.
I have recommended a friend to the nursery, this last week, who is moving to the area and she is also super impressed and is hoping to get her little girl enrolled too.

My sons joined Butterwick Pre-School in September 2023 at the age of 2 years. I was extremely nervous and apprehensive to be leaving them at such a young age. The Butterwick Pre-School team has been nothing short of amazing with my children. The integration process was great and gave me and the twins
a real insight into how things run with routines and day-to-day activities, allowing me to meet with managers/key workers.
I receive regular feedback/communication and am always kept in the loop with what the boys are learning with weekly/monthly topics and their personal progressions.
The twins have made real progress with communicating, independence, social skills and physical development to name a few.
I have found the pre-school to be full of compassion, kindness and genuine care. My twins love coming into pre-school which makes my life, as a parent, that bit easier.

Both of my boys have attended Butterwick Pre-School and have loved going. They are always greeted with big welcoming arms each morning and come home with tales of the exciting activities they have done throughout the day.
My eldest started with a speech delay and this is something that the staff hugely
supported and encouraged him with. When he left for school his speech was dramatically improved. He always loved the outside play area which is fantastic, giving the children a chance to experience messy play and supervised risky play.
My youngest still attends now and he gets such a varied learning and play experience. He tries new foods from learning about new countries, meets new animals such as giant snails and met a nurse with a real ambulance when learning about important people, just to name a few! I always know he’s left in caring and safe hands but when he has been upset it’s been lovely to have photos sent home as reassurance. I wouldn’t send him anywhere else

I couldn’t speak more highly of the Butterwick Pre-School team. They seem to genuinely care for the children and share a lovely bond with them.
This is my second child that has attended the setting and she absolutely loves it. She gets absolutely gutted when it’s the school holidays and can’t wait
to go back.
All the staff are lovely and helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. I will be sad when my daughter leaves them to go to school.

A great preschool, with knowledgeable, caring and enthusiastic staff.
Both my grandchildren love their time at Butterwick Preschool and come home bursting with stories about the different activities they have been a part of each day. Such a varied, well-thought-out curriculum keeps the children interested.

My daughter absolutely loves going to pre-school and loves all of the ladies there, especially one staff member in particular! She is absolutely fantastic at letting me know each afternoon how my daughter has been throughout the day.

From the moment I stepped foot into the nursery, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by the dedicated staff. The team has consistently demonstrated their passion for early childhood education and their commitment to providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children.
One of the aspects
that impressed me the most was their focus on individualised care and attention. My child's teachers have taken the time to understand her unique personality, interests, and learning style. I drop off and collect my niece from here regularly. She loves going in and the staff are so kind and welcoming every time. The nursery is always really clean and well-presented. I really like how my son is greeted and taken in and I like how he comes out happy and has a clean nappy and looks like he's had a lot of fun. I am always amazed at the range of things my little one does at Butterwick Pre-School. She loves telling me all about her day when I pick her up and I honestly don't know how they manage to fit so much into one day! She goes into Butterwick Pre-School smiling and happy and comes out just the same. She's
actually disappointed on her days off that she's not going in! She loves all of the staff and talks about them a lot at home. Her personality and skills have grown so much since she's been attending and I honestly couldn't have found anywhere better for her!

Lorna Marshall

Job Title: Director of Education

I am a qualified teacher for children aged 3-7. This gives me the knowledge and experience to implement our educational curriculum in a way that supports children through their early years journey and will stay with them throughout their school transition and beyond. I am extremely passionate about our children gaining experiences in our settings far beyond the realms of a typical nursery or preschool so that our children develop a love of learning, exploring and being curious about the world around them.


Outside of work I am a mummy to two daughters aged 10 and 2 years old who keep me on my toes but also my inspiration for my career. We love the theatre, animals big and small and camping. We are big foodies so enjoy going to different restaurants together after one of our little family adventures. As I get older I am trying to travel more and experience new places and culture.
