Child First Moulton Nursery is a private daycare nursery situated in a beautiful Georgian lodge within 3 acres of land and forest. The nursery is conveniently located for both local residents and commuters alike, being within 10 minutes of Northampton town centre and directly adjacent to Moulton Park Business Park.

The nursery cares for children aged 3 months to 5 years and is open 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

This homely building is hidden away from the main roads and equipped to support an extensive range of learning opportunities, while children can also explore a wonderful outdoor play area.

Children are encouraged to take risks, develop their confidence and self-esteem and explore their natural surroundings.

The Nursery offers a range of extra-curricular activities which include, yoga sessions, weekly visits with their local care home residents, forest school sessions with a fully qualified level 3 forest school practitioner, outdoor sleeping and eating experiences, access to a lending library, gardening skills with a level 2 qualified allotment and community gardener, and access to an artist in residence and art studio sessions.

The children also take part in art exhibitions within the local community.

Child First Moulton were finalists at the 2023 NMT awards for the community nursery of the year award.

Child First Moulton has provided a wonderful nursery and preschool experience for my daughter. We came to Child First wanting more outdoor space compared to her other nursery, and what we got was a lot, lot more. The outdoor space and all that it encompasses including vegetable growing and forest exploring
are magical, but on top of that, the experience we have had through preschool has been outstanding. From the wonderful staff to the various activities they do, to the amount they learn is more than I ever expected. We continued at two nurseries until lockdown, and when we had to choose one, it was my daughter who chose to stay at Child First, which I felt said a lot. Since being here on more of a full-time basis, and especially through a difficult time for all, the nursery has been second to none, and we have fallen even more in love with Child First. If you are looking to give you child an amazing nursery and preschool experience, I would definitely recommend Child First Moulton.

Our daughter started at 8 months old and leaves soon to start school, so has experienced all of the rooms. As parents, we felt supported at the beginning from initial visit, her settling in sessions and early days. Then over the years, the whole team has cared for her from the individual room carers,
wider support people, for example, art activities and forest school, and the management team.
One of the best aspects is the large outdoor space around the buildings that ranges from a designated courtyard for the baby room, to a wood that allows all children to explore outside in all weathers.
They have offered our daughter some great experiences and fun learning. Therefore we had reassurance she was in a great place whilst we worked.

Love it, I have not had one issue or complaint in the 3 years my daughter attended - great staff. Brilliant forest area to play in, great art room also. Would recommend to anyone looking for a Nursery/preschool.

My little boy has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Child First Moulton. He has been attending since he was 8 months old and is now ready to leave for primary school in September. His time there has been full of fun, friends, support, encouragement, exploration and has been an amazing learning experience.
He has progressed so much in terms of his social development, forming strong bonds with both children and practitioners and building his confidence to a level that even I wish I had!
He has had the pleasure of being able to explore the large woodland area surrounding the nursery where he was able to be his imaginative self with the help of the natural world where he was encouraged to dig, jump in puddles and take risks.
Overall, my son has developed into such a positive independent who I can safely say is ready for his transition to the next part of his learning adventure.
Thank you Child First for helping my little boy to be the amazing, fun, explorative, wild character he is.

My daughter has attended Child First from the age of 16 months and has settled well into the Cherries room with the help of the team who create a wonderfully welcoming and calm atmosphere. She is able to nap and feed when she needs to and I know is provided with endless cuddles and attention which has
made leaving her much easier for both of us. My daughter can be a fussy eater at times, but the varied nursery menu allows her to try lots of different foods and the outdoor vegetable patch encourages the children to grow their own fruit and veg, which they often then cook with. The outdoor grounds are like no other and the Cherries also have their own designated outdoor area where they play and sleep outside during the warmer months. No other nursery compares to Child First, we wouldn’t go anywhere else!

My daughter has attended Child First since she was 7 months old, for any mother leaving their pride and joy is a worrying time, however, the team at Child First are so supportive and made me feel at ease. The activities and opportunities that they have to offer the children are like no other. My daughter
has been to the local care home to visit the elderly, took part in yoga, she especially enjoys all the cooking session, and for the children to pick their own fruit and vegetables from their grounds to use during these sessions is so educational for them to learn about where food comes from. The outdoor areas are amazing and one of the reasons I fell in love with the nursery the opportunities for learning outside is outstanding. My daughter absolutely loves being outside from playing in the mud kitchen to cooking on the fire with the forest school leader. The team are always willing to go that extra mile and my daughter loves being around them.

I am hugely grateful and fond of this nursery. It has treated all 3 of my children so well. My youngest struggled with me leaving him, but his confidence elevated within weeks. The nursery worked really closely with me (the over-emotional mother!) to put me at ease that he was happy and coping well
with the adaptation. My eldest child loved the nursery so much and made some bonds with children she is still the best of friends with today. All 3 of them were provided with opportunities I couldn't offer them from home or aren't always practical to do at home. They have made many happy memories, felt safe, and prepared for school. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has stopped the transition period for my youngest as I chose not to send him back but I know it really is a fantastic nursery. I won't mention any names to highlight staff as I honestly don't have a bad word to say about any of them. All so welcoming and happy. I've recommended the nursery to my sister-in-law who has decided to send my niece too.

My little boy has been at Childfirst Moulton since early 2018 and stayed until he completed his pre-school year. He has absolutely loved it and has really blossomed in his confidence and quest for information since then. The outdoor area including the little 'forest' is second to none to allow the
children space to run, explore things, ride bikes and get involved with vegetable planting. It's great that the nursery provides all of the wetsuits for outdoor play in all weathers. The teaching and office staff are really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this nursery.

I have nothing bad to say about this nursery. My son has been in attendance since he was two-years-old, and now at four, he is due to leave the preschool in a few weeks. The staff throughout his time have been exceptional and I have never had cause to be concerned about leaving him in their care. Their
meals are well planned and nutritious and as they offer three meals a day, I know he has been well fed. They have a multitude of extra activities for the children to take part in like gardening and growing vegetables, forest school and visiting elderly friends at a nearby care home. If I wasn't already impressed by the quality of the nursery then their handling of the covid-19 crisis would have sealed the deal. Management were incredibly informative throughout all of the lockdown and have done all they could to keep in touch with parents and children. I wish my son could stay at the preschool for longer but I know they have done all they can to prepare him for his next adventure at school.

This nursery has been amazing for my son, we watched him change from a shy 2-year old into a confident 3 1/2 year old. The staff are amazing and make you feel like reassured. Every member of staff knew my child's name within the first week which was lovely. There were always so many fun activities for
the children to play with no Day was the same. The outdoor facilities are fantastic for the children to learn and play outdoor rain or shine. Would absolutely recommend this nursery

Child First Northampton is exactly the place you would wish your child to attend. They provide the most amazing experiences such as Mud Yoga, my child loves this, and visiting the local care home. Child First spends time getting to know your child and bring the best out of them. The staff and management
are highly motivated to giving the children time to be children! Child First became an extended part of my child's life, they will be sorely missed! I hope they all know how amazing, fabulous and how brilliant they are. You wouldn't want any other nursery Child First always!

My son has been at Child First since he was 7 months old.
Throughout the time of his stay here, my son has gained so much confidence, friends, learned a lot of things getting him ready for school.
Each and every single member off the staff are so welcoming, friendly, kind, so caring and loving towards
each child as I’ve seen when I drop and pick my son up.
I will recommend this nursery to anyone, my son started off unsettled and within days he was delighted to come to nursery (big ease off my back and less worry) when my child enjoys his time.
Thank you to everyone at Child First for all the care and kindness you have shown towards my son and myself.

I could not recommend Child First in Moulton enough! My daughter has been going here since she was 1 and is currently in their preschool, she absolutely loves every day she spends here. The management and staff are caring, nurturing, loving and fun.
We moved away 6 months ago and made the tough decision
to move our daughter to another nursery closer to home. It was not suited to us and we were lucky to be able to come back to Child First again. The change in my daughter is amazing. She has returned to the smiley, happy and confident girl we knew.
The facilities here are brilliant, with so much outdoor space and it’s great to know that my daughter gets to spend time outdoors on a daily basis. I am also impressed with the activities available, including yoga, art, foreign languages and the opportunity to visit their ‘elderly friends’ in the local care home.
Everything I could ask for and more, it’s just a shame she has to go to school in September!

Amazing staff who know the children really well. Good mix of male and female staff which is lovely to see in the care environment. Love the outdoor space and the freedom the children have to play and learn through play. I feel they are a nurturing environment and will happily give my son and daughter

My son started at Child First at 20 months old and recently left after finishing pre-school to start primary school. It was an emotional start for him as he was so used to being with me, the staff were very supportive of this and I felt confident leaving him knowing that he was well looked after. It
didn’t take long for him to be enthusiastic about going to nursery as he enjoyed it so much: he was always doing new fun things. I cannot thank the staff here enough for their part in my son’s development. They’re always thinking of innovative ways to play with the children and encourage them to learn new skills and my son is as prepared as he can be for school as a result. He has really enjoyed his time at Child First, the progress he has made here has been incredible. He’s a very inquisitive, caring and creative boy and Child First have a lot to do with this.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. The ethos and atmosphere within this nursery is inspiring and the fresh air the children get to grow and learn in is fabulous. The staff show a genuine commitment to ensuring each child feels secure and enjoys the opportunities to play and learn in this

My son has recently left Child First due starting primary school. We’ve had the most wonderful experience at Child First. My son has loved every minute especially the Preschool room (Oaks). The staff are fantastic and make sure the children have the most wonderful day.
I picked Child First because
of the space and outdoor learning it offered. The nursery offers a huge woodland area with a vegetable patch, den building, forest schools, mud kitchen and much more! The nursery offer loads of activities from visiting the elderly, yoga, visiting the library and making food for the homeless.
The staff have been fantastic not just for my son but for myself. I was extremely anxious when leaving him for the first time but with time the staff help me grow as a mother and put all my worries to the side.
My son wasn’t the most confident and has come on leaps and bounds, I’m proud of the work child first have done! I would recommend Child first to everyone!

Our son has attended Childfirst for the last 2.5 years. He has absolutely loved it there and it has been a pleasure to watch how far he has come since he started. The staff are excellent and he has developed a great rapport with many of them. The outdoor space is fantastic and our son has loved playing
outside and exploring in all weathers! We couldn’t recommend it enough!
