Background of Squirrels Day Nursery

Squirrels Day Nursery Corby LTD opened in 1995 and provided childcare for a 34 place setting in the local neighbourhood centre for children ages 2-4 years old. After receiving the Neighbourhood initiative grant the nursery was extended and a purpose-built nursery attached to the centre in 2004. The nursery then became a setting that offered full day childcare for children aged 0-5.

The running hours of the setting are 8am-6pm, all day sessions are available from this time or they do a shorter day from 9am-5pm and 8am-4pm. Morning sessions are 8am-1pm, 9am-1pm and afternoon sessions are 1pm-6pm, 1pm-5pm. They operate over 51 weeks of the year closing only for Christmas and Bank holidays.

The nursery is situated in a residential area which has in recent years had a new housing estate built by the local school right across the road. They are a ten minute walk from the main town centre and have access to local transport with the bus stop right outside. They also have access to local parks and woodlands in the area.

My daughter started nursery when she was 9 months, and we both felt super comfortable from the very first settling-in session. She has thrived at Squirrels, and I couldn't be happier knowing she loves her key worker and comes home happy every day she's there. The staff are all very friendly and seem
to genuinely care about the health, safety and progress of all the children in their care.
Staff are also super helpful with all the funding options available and make sure parents have all the information needed!

The best nursery in Northamptonshire, without a doubt! All the staff are incredible; it's like a big family! The commitment and dedication this nursery shows is 100/100. I have two children who attended this nursery, and they both started at the age of 2 - 1 has now graduated and will be leaving in
September, but I wish I could keep him there forever! The amount of support my son received from this nursery with his speech was amazing - my child started this nursery unable to speak and had about 10 words in his vocabulary, but this nursery supported him through speech and language sessions and 1-1, now my child is a confident speaker! Thank you so much, girls, I'm forever grateful for everything you have done for my children, the wild dino boy has absolutely loved being a member of this huge family at Squirrels Day Nursery; you all made his nursery journey something he will always remember.

I have an anxious child who does not like change. Squirrels staff were well experienced, warm, consistent staff members, caring and nurturing. The confidence in my child grew daily, and the support they offered to me as a parent, was second to none. This is the only nursery setting I would ever use.
Thank you Squirrels. We will be sad to make the move to infant school.

Squirrels Nursery is absolutely fantastic. Our son has been at Squirrels since he was 9 months old, right through to graduating from pre-school. The nursery offers a welcoming atmosphere and it feels like a family. The staff are incredible and it is a testament to the nursery that the staff have been
there for a long time and they really do care about all of the children.
The nursery offers 2 homemade hot meals a day and they are delicious, my son loves them. We will miss everyone at Squirrels when we move on to primary school but I would 100% recommend this nursery to everyone.

My son has been attending Squirrels since he was 8-months-old. He is now 3. He is incredibly happy and content there. I could not ask for a better place to look after my boy. The staff are kind, caring, attentive and always supportive. I always recommend Squirrels to anyone who is looking for somewhere.
A nursery has to be a safe place, one you trust to look after your children. Squirrels is that and so much more. The staff have dealt with the Government changes over the last two years in a timely and calm manner. Parents are always kept up to date.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. Our daughter has been here since she was 8-months and is now nearly 4.
I honestly couldn’t think of one negative thing to say. The staff are amazing, kind and caring, but most importantly of all, they obviously love their job and the children.
We have very hectic lives

My little girl has been coming to this nursery now for the last eighteen months. Prior to coming to nursery I had lots of anxieties as a parent sending my child to nursery. The nursery put me at ease and I would call several times to check she was okay. My little girl loves coming to nursery and talks
often about her friends that she has and her teachers. The staff seem really approachable and always update me what my little one has eaten and what she has been up to at nursery. The one thing I love is they do a book on them where they capture pictures of things she’s doing at nursery and things she’s said, which they allow you to take home. Overall an amazing nursery.

The staff here go above and beyond. My daughter has just left, and all she's said is she's sad she won't get to see the workers again. Great nursery, they go above and beyond for the children. My son struggles to leave me when I drop him off. The staff always help make him feel comfortable, they have things that he loves to do waiting from him, always come down to eye level to ask him how he is, they really care about the children.
He is a very fussy eater, they make lovely food that he really enjoys too. The activities/learning they do with them is amazing, I find my son to be so confident and advanced with their help.

I have used Squirrels Day Nursery for 8 years, I cannot recommend this nursery enough, the staff are amazing. They provide the very best start to their education. Since day one, both my children have been happy here and I can go to work with full confidence that they would be looked after to an extremely
