Windermere Day Nursery is a beautiful purpose built day nursery, developed on behalf of Kettering General Hospital to care for the children of Trust employees and of the local community. The nursery has a homely and friendly atmosphere, with a team of highly qualified and experienced staff to inspire and develop your child's skills.

Children are taught to care about the world they live in and the nursery is proud to have gained an Eco Schools Green Flag Award.

At Windermere children have six main playrooms for individual age groups. The outside area consists of a sectioned garden, comprising of grassy areas and also individual garden areas for each age group. This ensures the children have access to a variety of outdoor stimulation with an opportunity to explore, learn and play.

Professional, caring and supportive staff, who always smile when we arrive to pick up our children.
They are always smartly dressed and have created a wonderful atmosphere within the nursery.
Their attitude is very good and I would recommend any child to come to this nursery.

I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. They always include us in our daughter's development and nothing is every too much trouble. The staff and management are always happy and willing to help.

The staff at Windermere Day Nursery are a friendly, approachable and kind bunch whose priority is the optimal development of the children in their care. They clearly love their job which shines through their work. Our daughter has flourished since joining and has learnt valuable skills which she will

Windermere has been great for my daughter. She has settled in very quickly.


The staff are all extremely friendly and already know her by name.


Her confidence and speech have improved since starting nursery in January. The range of different activities is excellent.

My son started a couple of months ago and all the girls have been amazing and so helpful. As a single mum, the girls have made the transition a lot easier. Wouldn't want him at any other nursery.

Both of my children have developed so well at the nursery. They both enjoy the activities, the environment, the staff and the food. When we moved we could have chosen a nursery closer to home but didn't as the children love it.

My daughters love coming to Windermere Day Nursery (Kettering). The staff are lovely and friendly to my girls and the activities are 'WOW'. The meals are awesome and nutritional. The management are exceptional and supportive. The garden is really big and my girls love being out there.

My child loves coming to the nursery. He tells me off if it is a day he isn't coming. The staff are amazing and my son has come on leaps and bounds. He has already learnt his letter sounds. The manager has been really helpful and very knowledgeable.

Absolutely fabulous! I cannot rate it highly enough. The nursery is so flexible and they have excellent communication.

After two attempts at the other nurseries, I came across Windermere. From the first point of contact, I felt confident with this nursery. Management is always available and accommodates my requirements for my two young boys. All staff are reassuring and always keep me and my husband up to date with
our boy's development. Recently had a baby girl and no doubt what so ever that she shall be joining Windermere in the near future. From a mother who used to watch the clock till picking them up to now relaxed and enjoying whatever I shall be doing since they joined Windermere. I can't thank them all enough!

My son has been coming to Windermere for almost a year now and is learning so much and grown in confidence. He knows so much and recently learnt to write his name, joins in group games and has formed friendships, which is all thanks to the staff. The staff are very friendly and I feel happy and reassured
that his transition to school will be easier.

Amy McCulloch

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Joined: 2018

Amy is the Manager of Windermere Day Nursery in Kettering and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 29 years. Amy worked as a Manager for 17 years at her previous setting, before joining Childbase Partnership and becoming manager in 2018. Amy has numerous qualifications, including her Level 3 in Childcare.


What is your favourite feature of Windermere?
My favourite feature is the large and spacious garden which is quiet and calming with lots of areas for the children to explore. The nursery rooms are not only separated for the age groups but also have separate rooms within those areas, allowing lots of free flow for the children to aid us in creating fantastic, engaging, enabling environments.


I am most proud of the long-standing experienced team, that works together supporting each other and sharing ideas and knowledge of the children we care for to make sure each child experiences the best day every day. There is a good team spirit on the whole and a “want to achieve attitude”.
