Kindred Lowdham Nursery and Pre-school occupies a beautiful Georgian house and provides a friendly, home from home environment supported by warm, caring and mature staff that have extensive childcare experience.

The nursery also offers before and after school care for children attending local schools. There is a lovely all-weather outdoor play area with fantastic climbing equipment.

There is also an allotment where the preschool children can grow vegetables. As well as providing all the usual activities quality day nurseries provide, specialist practitioners provide extra special classes - Forest schools, French, Music and Movement and Yoga. The nursery is happy to accept all nursery vouchers and offer Nursery Grant places. All meals are prepared and cooked on the premises.

My daughter has been going to Alphabet House for the last 5 months since she started at 8 months of age. We’ve been so impressed with the nursery, in particular, the staff have been great. Not only at making our daughter’s time at nursery fun and rewarding but also at reassuring us as parents that she’s
in safe hands and they genuinely care about her.

I have 2 children at Alphabet House and they both started attending from about 7 months. It's been so nice to watch my eldest progress through the rooms and develop. All of the staff are so friendly and you can tell they care about the children. They plan different activities for each day and I really
enjoy looking at the photos on the online learning portal. Nothing is too much trouble and they cater for my children's individual needs.

The staff are outstanding and make every day varied and fun for my child. He has developed so quickly since he started attending this nursery. The food is healthy and varied, and the children are encouraged to make their own choices by self serving food (at an appropriate age). Communication from the
staff caring for my son each day is fantastic. This also applies to any communication with the manager, with quick replies to any queries. I couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough.

Alphabet House is a great setting. The staff, from the management down, are all brilliant. They provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment, and it is clear that the children thoroughly enjoy themselves whilst there.
My eldest is particularly shy, and they spent lots of time getting him comfortable
at nursery and really tailored their approach to changes etc, knowing his particular needs.
We always had confidence our boys were in safe, capable hands here, which was very reassuring. Thank you, Alphabet House.

My daughter has just started at Alphabet House in Lowdham, I was really worried about how she would settle in due to being a lockdown baby and not been socialised much. But the staff at Alphabet House were lovely. They put us all at ease and made the transition so easy. My daughter absolutely loves
it there and has seemed to settle in beautifully. The staff in the baby room have been so good at meeting her needs and send lovely photos on the app, so I can see how she’s getting on. I would recommend anyone who is looking for childcare to contact Alphabet House. It’s perfect.

We have been extremely happy with the services provided by Alphabet House Day Nursery for our daughter. The staff are lovely and have always treated us all very well. Our daughter looks forward to attending each day and always comes home happy and enthusiastic. They carry out a range of activities and
fun games that she would not do otherwise. The food provided is varied and well accepted. Overall very happy with the nursery.

This is a lovely nursery, it’s so cosy and every detail of the setting is thought through to get the best out of the children. All the staff are friendly and make you feel like your child is the only child. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat and my little girl has absolutely thrived.

The manager and the team are great. My son loves going to nursery and I feel he gets so much out of his time there.
His key worker in the baby room is great and he always has a huge smile on his face as soon as he sees her.
My work schedule often changes and the nursery is always very accommodating.

The moment I set foot in this nursery, I knew it was perfect for my child. It is secure, very clean and has loads of happy and well-behaved children! The staff is always polite, friendly and helpful. My son started the nursery in June and has come on in leaps and bounds with his learning and communication. He really enjoys playing with the other children and staff, and they always give him a warm welcome when he arrives.

My son started at Alphabet House when he was just 3-months-old and I cannot speak highly enough of how the whole team there made both him and I feel welcomed and safe in a homely family environment, especially given his young age.
Every member of staff has such a genuine love for what they do and
a personal connection to the children.
Their handling of the uncertain and unpredictable time we are currently navigating with coronavirus has been both calm and strategic - always keeping the health and well-being of the children, their families and the staff at the forefront of all decisions.
Being a new mum and having not come from a family who use the services of a nursery, I was unsure what to expect. But Alphabet House have superseded every expectation that I had and in a relatively short space of time really feel like an extension of our family.
Thank you so much to the Alphabet House team!

My son started nursery in February and settled in really well straight away, the staff was great with reassurance and shown me lots of photos of him playing. Lots of different activities out for my son to explore, from painting, pretend play, storytime, outdoor play. After my son had an unsettling
time at a different setting it was brilliant to see him so happy, interacting and talking lots and really being himself.
The staff and nursery are brilliant and I thank them for being so great especially with a nervous mum.

We are really pleased our son goes to Alphabet House Lowdham. The staff are friendly and genuinely interested in the children. At 20-months, my son knows all the staff by name, gets excited to see them and toddles in without looking back. The different activities they put on are great, I especially
like "home corner", the small wooden kitchen where the children play and learn about kitchen safety. The variety of food the kids eat is excellent. We are very grateful they remained open to key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, as key workers, our son continued to attend. All the staff were great in giving clear information, creating a warm, safe and happy place for the kids and were very fair in how they billed parents.

I have two children that have attended Alphabet House Nursery since January 2019. In all areas of the nursery, we have had nothing but good experiences, with both the staff and management. Whilst drop-offs can be challenging with my two, staff have always been quick to update me on how my children are
getting on, which is very reassuring. During the COVID pandemic and as a key worker, my children have had to remain in the nursery. I'd like to add that during this time the manager and her team, that have remained at work have all been exceptional. The messages about the guidelines and expectations around protecting the children from COVID have been clear and given me full reassurance. I will and have recommended this nursery without hesitation.

Amazing welcome back for my daughter post COVID-19. All the staff have adapted beautifully, they are happy, positive, encouraging and make everything feel as normal as possible for the little ones. Alphabet House in Lowdham is an exceptional nursery. Both of my children attend, one child is in the baby room and the other is in the preschool room. The nursery staff are exceptionally kind and caring. The management team are excellent and engage the parents at every possibility. The staff genuinely
care about the wellbeing and development of the children. My children are so happy in the nursery and love going each day. It would be nice if the nursery had a bit more outside space but the nursery do an excellent job if taking the children out into the village and they have some gardening space outside of the main play area.

My son (6 and a half months old) started nursery a week ago and has settled in so quickly. He is very well looked after and I am assured that he is enjoying himself with the pictures uploaded onto a tapestry every day and by the big smile on his face when I pick him up. The taster sessions were excellent
in getting him used to his new environment and the staff.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hi I'm Kelly. I started my early years journey as a nursery nurse after completing my level 3 diploma in childcare and education. I then worked my way up gaining many new skills along the way. I became a room leader then deputy manager and now manager gaining lots of valuable experience and knowledge.


I really enjoy being part of each and every child’s development and helping each child to learn in fun and engaging ways. I have a passion to run the nursery on a day to day basis providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Hi, I'm Rebecca. I have worked in childcare since 2014 and began my career working as a nursery apprentice completing my Level 3 qualification. I have worked my way up to a qualified practitioner, room leader and now as our Deputy Manager.


I enjoy working within the rooms to ensure that children are safe and happy in our care, providing experiences they will thrive from and helping them to develop their abilities as independent children who are confident at nursery.
