Children 1st @ Newark is an award-winning childcare provider, having been rated as one of the Top 20 nurseries in the East Midlands by daynurseries.co.uk in May 2021. This award was based on their consistently high reviews from parents and guardians. It is situated very close to the A1 and A46, with good access to the town centre and train station.

The nursery has been refurbished throughout with designated areas for babies, toddlers, early years and children aged up to 12-years-old. It has a huge garden complete with fort, mud kitchen and woodland area for children to explore.

The children benefit from eating healthy food to help fuel the development of their young minds and bodies.

The nursery's friendly, enthusiastic staff are fully trained and very experienced. Child to staff ratios are lower than Ofsted requirements.

Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options both indoors and outside in the garden.

The nursery offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

We could not ask for a better nursery for our little boy. His communication skills and confidence have come on leaps and bounds since he started here. He loves going and talks about his teachers and friends with so much enthusiasm and joy. I would highly recommend.

My little boy has attended this nursery since he was 8-months-old and is now coming on 4-years-old. The staff are beyond words! They've supported and loved my little boy helping him flourish. I can't thank the amazing team more for all they have done. Although our little boy's journey is coming to an
end shortly as he prepares for school, my other little boy will then attend and start his nursery journey. I think this speaks volumes, as I wouldn't consider any other nursery setting.
The building and grounds offer what other nurseries in the area simply can not compete with! Seconds into our initial visit years back, we fell instantly in love with the outside play space, woodland and huge fort, which I could foresee our little boy enjoying with his buddies, and he has! Thank you to each staff member who has supported not only him but myself and my husband throughout this journey.

A fantastic setting for our daughter. She is thriving and loves going; we never have any issues. Good feedback from the staff, and they know each child individually. Great outdoor space which is well used and outdoor play is always encouraged. We would not send her anywhere else

My daughter has been attending this nursery for almost a year; she started when she was one. She loves going to the nursery; drop-off time is always very easy because she enjoys attending so much. Very early on after she started attending, we noticed how quickly she was developing and learning and how
much more confident she was becoming. The staff genuinely care for her, and I feel that she is in very safe and capable hands whilst she is at nursery. The facilities and activities put on for the children are excellent, and I feel that she is very well stimulated and encouraged when she is there. She always comes home clean and in a great mood because she has had so much fun! The staff are wonderful, very accommodating, friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend this nursery to anyone - I think it would be difficult to beat!

This is the best nursery in the area. Due to moving around in the military, my two boys have been moved around four different nurseries, but this one is outstanding. The garden and the covered outside playrooms are fantastic, with many activities, equipment, toys and hidden gardens to burn off their
energy. The staff are caring and understand how hard it is to juggle a busy lifestyle and children. They are flexible and try their hardest to accommodate change, which I love.

A great setting for any child, my daughter joined from age 1yrs and it's been the best building block. She is developing so well and enjoys going to nursery every day which is a credit to the staff. They adapt with short notice times and help parents as much as possible. Communication is key for a full-time
mummy, and Children 1st do that very well.

With two children at the nursery, they both are extremely happy and love going to nursery. They are teaching them fundamental skills in their development but doing it a fun, exciting way. Staff are lovely, and I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.

All of the staff at Breedon House in Newark are brilliant. My daughter loves going to nursery and always has lots of stories to tell about her day. I am entirely confident that every day she is in fantastic hands which really helps me relax when I'm at work. I can't thank the staff enough for all the

I am really pleased that we chose this nursery for our son. The facilities especially the outside space are fantastic and our little boy loves it. The nursery do a broad range of activities for the children and provide opportunities for parents to become involved. Our son has built up great relationships
with the staff and other children and is very happy. The environment is caring, nurturing and feels like a home from home which provides an excellent foundation for future education and life skills.

My son attends nursery three times a week and he loves it. The staff are nurturing and caring and I feel 100% happy leaving him in their care. The activities are educational and help his development and he is learning to interact well with other children. Nursery is helping him to become a confident

My son has been here for around 6 weeks and we feel he has been excellently supported to settle in even though he's only attending 1 day a week.
The staff team are very caring and encouraging to both my son and us as parents. We have noticed developments each time he comes home which is great!

From the minute you walk through the door, all staff greet you and the children with a warm welcome. The home-made food smells delicious. The kids look forward to going and walk into each of their classes with the confidence and they both have built great bonds with their key workers. I cannot fault
in any way.

I am so pleased that my daughter has settled so well at Children 1st Newark. It makes my day easier knowing that she is happy to be at nursery when I drop her off in the morning. I love hearing all about her day when she gets collected and reading the details about her eating and sleeping in the nursery
diary. I really do feel like I chose the best environment for my daughter and genuinely can't wait for her to grow up there by moving into different rooms (classes).

My child has been going to this nursery since he was five months old, he's now just over two and it's obvious on his face how much joy he gets from each and every member of the staff. They all care for him and call him by name when we walk in, he loves the chef (obviously!)
The staff have enabled my
baby to grow into a young man, his sentences are coming along everyday with the help of the wonderful staff. He is learning something new every day, including how to develop friendships. The outside area is absolutely fantastic and I often have a battle to get my small one off the cars.
I honestly can't recommend this nursery enough, they always have the children at the forefront of everything they do and nothing is too much trouble.
Keep it up guys!

Both our daughters attend nursery here, and we really can’t recommend it enough. One of the reasons we chose this particular nursery was the amazing outdoor space on offer, but this has become just one the of many reasons why we love it! Our girls are always very happy to attend nursery, and their eagerness
to go in every day clearly shows how well looked after they are, and how much fun they have.
The staff are very understanding and accommodating where necessary, and it really seems that they form great relationships with all children and families. Our girls love it at Children 1st, and we feel very lucky to have a found a nursery that we have such confidence in.

Job Title: Nursery Manager

My name is Sophie Willis, I have been working for Children 1st since 2014. Starting as an apprentice, moving to a qualified nursery nurse, room leader Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. I work at both nursery settings in Newark, which has provided me with a great deal of experience working with a variety of children and their families. I am currently completing my Level 4 with the company and I am excited to further develop my skills. I particularly enjoy mentoring our teams and guiding them with policies and procedures. I have a passion for developing sensory play for babies. You will often find me in the baby room having lots of cuddles.
