My children have been attending this nursery for two years. The care and education they receive has been amazing, and I would recommend this nursery to any parents interested. The staff have been really informative and considerate, which makes leaving my children in day care while I work, that much
easier. Thank-you.

We selected Busy Bees, Long Eaton because we felt welcomed from our first contact. The care that is provided here is superb and I have been able to confidently leave my daughter here knowing that she is being nurtured and looked after similarly, or even better than I could provide day in and out. The
staff here will where possible, accommodate requests for specific parenting styles and approaches to ensure a seamless transition from home to nursery.

My daughter moved to Busy Bees at Long Eaton in January 2017. The staff were very helpful in making my daughter feel very welcome and settled. The staff are very caring and attend to my child's needs. The nursery offers a variety of different types of activities and has an outdoor sensory garden that
my daughter thoroughly enjoys. I definitely have picked the best nursery and would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents.

Busy Bees is a very good nursery environment. It's clean secure and the staff really understand my child's needs. In the toddler room, they really helped with potty/toilet training. The girls are fab! In the pre-school room, the assistants are good. There are a few things that would make the room much
better.
1) The key workers to spend more time in the preschool room (rather than in any rooms).
2) I don't feel I truly understand what my child has been doing each day and always a queue at pick up time.
3) I would like to see more educational activity and parents to be informed of this.

Reply from Sasha Beesley, Digital Marketing Executive at Busy Bees Long Eaton

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, Heather. At Busy Bees Long Eaton we promote a strong key worker bond with all our children in our setting. This is promoted by the key worker and is supported by carrying out planned activities to challenge and stimulate the individual child’s learning and development. In the absence of the key worker the buddy system is used, the buddy key worker will have a sound understanding of the child’s development needs and will provide the primary care for your child during their time at nursery in the keyworkers absence. A handover from a member of the staff team is available at collection to discuss the child well-being during the day and the different activities the child has been involved in.

We offer a wide variety of educational activities which are implemented daily which support the seven areas of the early years foundation stage. Our pre-school also offer unique learning enhancements which are used alongside the planned activities and stimulating environment. These enhancements include shake and write, babble to chatter, problem-solving to mathematics and wake and shake. Activities for home are sent home to parents/carers on a regular basis from the key worker which relates to the individual child interests and learning experiences whilst at nursery. Parent evenings are also held throughout the year to discuss the child development and progress in detail. The key worker is always available to discuss matters relating to a child when need and learning journals are available to parents to view at all times. If you have any questions whatsoever we always welcome you to ask us in nursery, we are more than happy to go through any concerns or questions. Kind Regards, Laura Nursery Manager

The staff at Busy Bees, Long Eaton were great at settling my little boy at nursery. He soon settled with the friendly staff caring for him and he was soon eager to go to nursery every day. Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.383)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.383) out of 10 for Busy Bees Long Eaton is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Busy Bees Long Eaton is calculated as follows: ( (36 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.383 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Long Eaton is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 113 number of registered child places is 22.6. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 22.6 = 0.133

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
