Stepping Stones Urmston is set in a lovely converted Victorian house, just a 10-minute walk from the town centre. It was awarded Good by Ofsted in April 2018. The team cater for children aged six weeks to five years old.

The nursery offers a warm and homely environment, including vast outdoor space which is divided into different age ranges and accessible from all rooms, with the under twos having their own decking area.

Various sessions are offered to support diverse learning and development, ranging from physical activities to Spanish lessons.

Wonderful nursery. My little boy settled in quickly within the under 2's and has thrived since. The staff are caring and nurturing, and he has made strong bonds, so much so that he would happily stay longer when I come to collect him. I love seeing the range of play activities and outings to promote
learning and development. There is also a great outdoor space which is used well.
The communication with the nursery has been good, and the app for invoices etc. also good.

I got a great feel for Stepping Stones as soon as I visited. Since my son started he has been loved and cared for to the highest level, and the most important thing is that he is happy. He looks forward to nursery and he loves the people he spends time with there. He eats a variety of delicious and
nutritious foods every day and has endless new and fun learning experiences.

The manager is incredibly helpful in all aspects and will go above and beyond to meet any requests as well as ensuring the service more than meets the needs of my daughter. I can’t fault any of the staff, my daughter loves going to nursery and always has happy stories to tell me at the end of the day
about what she has been up to.

My little girl absolutely loves going to nursery. She has gone from this shy, quiet one year old, to this independent little girl. She loves going out on adventures to the park and library, always doing activities and helping her learn new skills and new words. The staff are so caring towards her, always
there when she needs them.

Our 3 year and 2 year old have been attending Stepping Stones since they were both 11 months. They both love going to nursery, love the staff and all the friends they’ve made there. Nursery were incredibly supportive settling both children in. The room teams are warm, caring, kind and fun. We really
like that there’s an age range within the team. They always make time for parents and are happy to catch up on what’s happened in the day. The kids do a wide variety of activities, spend lots of time playing in the garden and riding scooters/bikes/making bug houses and going on trips out. We’ve had lots of support with potty training, and the team have been brilliant at providing appropriate learning. With their support, my oldest is really confident with letters and numbers. The nursery manager is professional and still takes an interest in the kids as individuals. Even through COVID, the management team fostered a community around nursery. We’ve had a great experience with Stepping Stones.

The team at Stepping Stones do a fabulous job. My little one started with them nearly a year ago and she has come on leaps and bounds since starting. Even on mornings when she doesn’t want to come into nursery, they calm her down and do things at my little ones' pace! All the staff are so friendly and
I couldn’t imagine anywhere better for my little one.

Stepping Stones has been great for my little boy. His confidence has grown so much since starting there. He loves his time there so much that he asks to go on weekends! This is down to the brilliant staff. They are all so caring of the children, drive healthy meals and educate the children not only
on the basic curriculum that you’d expect but also about the world around them. He’s made some great friends in this setting and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 4 months old, he is now three and he sees it as a home away from home. He absolutely loves the staff, and the staff are always on top of his progress and quick to catch anything that might be amiss with his development. My son comes back from nursery
randomly talking or singing about new things he’s learned, and it’s always pleasant to see the development he gets at nursery! The building is also really nice, like an old house, quite comforting for the kids to arrive to.
The staff are clearly enthusiastic about working with the kids and seeing their progress, and even if they’ve had a really tiring and busy day (which is every day I expect!), they still come across as enthusiastic.
It’s always hard to let a piece of your heart go, AKA sending your kids to nursery, but honestly not a worry here because they are well looked after, and always have fun and engaging activities to do!

The staff and manager have been absolutely amazing with my little boy, he's come out of his shell a lot since being at the nursery. He's learnt so much. They are very polite, the cleanliness of the nursery is 10/10.

My review relates to since my son started, such an amazing nursery all the staff are so kind and caring. The support that I’ve had from the staff has been brilliant they really have gone above and beyond for me and my son. We don’t actually live in Urmston anymore however because we both love the nursery
I’d rather do a longer drive so he can stay there.

Friendly and polite staff, fantastic facilities and the children are always well looked after and happy. Children are provided with lovely meals and activities which aid their development daily as well as opportunities that enhance socialising with the other children and staff. Thank you!

I am very happy that my child attends Stepping Stones Day Nursery - he is always busy and content when I pick him up after work. He’s never in a rush to leave. He has a lovely connection with the nursery staff - he often gives them cuddles in the morning when I drop him off. He eats a lovely varied
diet and is stimulated with lots of fun and messy activities. I love seeing social media photos of what he’s been up to, their day trips and reading his progress reports. The nursery manager always responds promptly to queries. He settled in quickly and he’s been very happy there for the last nine months.
