The Cottage Nursery is a bright, vibrant and exciting setting with highly qualified, professional and dedicated staff. Carers are passionate about high quality childcare and outstanding early education which is delivered daily in a creative and stimulating way across all ages. All rooms are exceptionally well resourced to enable all seven areas of the EYFS to be delivered, and they have all recently been refurbished to make a modern, calm and welcoming environment. The team offer extra-curricular activities in all groups to enrich the children's experience such as Baby Sign, Music & Drama Club and French Club. There are also Gym and Dance Clubs which are led by fantastic external professionals. The nursery directly feeds into an 'Outstanding' ISI rated Preparatory School and the older children benefit from this through exciting trips, sports days and productions. Every child and their family are highly valued and made to feel welcome from their very first visit.

I couldn't recommend The Cottage enough, the staff really care about the development of the children and the experiences and variety of activities they get there are amazing. My little boy picks up his bag and gets his shoes ready to go there.

My child attends The Cottage Nursery and we have been beyond impressed. I really struggled the first week I dropped her off and the staff took care of my needs as well as my child’s. They went above and beyond to make the experience as positive at possible for both of us. 5 months on and she is thriving
and continues to cheer as we park outside. Walks in waving and saying hi to everyone. She has come on leaps and bounds with the encouragement of all the staff. I also really love the longevity of the members of staff. I think that proves what a lovely environment it is.

There is very little I can say to fault The Cottage Nursery. The staff are amazing and very committed! The additional activities such as French, music sessions and trips are great and offer more variety to the children. All of the staff are approachable and are always happy to discuss your child and
any concerns. The tapestry app which allows for regular updates and photos is a lovely tool and is updated regularly. It's lovely to be able to see what my child is doing each day and how the activity is relevant to their development. The mix of activities is good.

Lovely nursery and fantastic staff, my son really enjoyed his time here and developed so much whilst in the care of The Cottage. Staff are highly trained and respond to any issues or concerns very quickly.
The management team are very approachable and maintain very high standards throughout the nursery.

turnover is very low - a lot of the staff have been here a long time and form lovely bonds with the children and their parents.
A fantastic nursery and I would highly recommend it to other parents.

Both boys have come here. Youngest still here. Both love the nursery and confidence has come on leaps and bounds. Really friendly staff and both developed language skills quickly. Happy to recommend to anyone.

Since my son has been attending The Cottage Nursery (moved from another local nursery approx. 1yr ago), his attitude, behaviour, empathy have all improved. He is more assertive and this was a dramatic and very noticeable difference since joining.
The staff including the Secretary are wonderful and
helpful in every way. The turn over of staff is great which I know is sometimes a cause for concern in some nurseries.
I would highly recommend this nursery.

The Cottage offers a safe loving and fun environment full of activities and learning for children. Since our little boy started here at 11 months he has flourished. The staff take such good care of him and have been so supportive in our decision to use cloth nappies and him being breastfed. He loves
going to nursery and we never have to worry about him, it’s like he’s spending time with family the way he’s cared for and he adores the staff. We are so happy with our decision to choose the Cottage Nursery.

My son has attended from the age of 9 months and I have been very pleased with everything about the nursery at each stage. The transition from each class to another is very well done with numerous settling in days to get used to the new staff and settings. The daily updates are fantastic so that we
know what he's been up to and the assignment of a key person to each child provides that extra touch as we feel that the staff know each child very well. This is aided with the online journal that the nursery staff very regularly update and provides parents with the option to provide comments and also upload our own stories and events.


On the admin side of things, I have found the secretary and management team very helpful in assisting me with any queries and never have to wait long for a reply.


Would highly recommend!

The Cottage is a lovely little nursery with a real family atmosphere. My two girls attend full time and, not having relatives nearby, I am reassured that they are being cared for in a nurturing and homely environment. The staff are very friendly, communicate well and know all of the children and our
names. It's been lovely introducing my youngest child to the staff who were genuinely excited to meet her and have her join the nursery. And again, reassuring to know the extra efforts they have made to help her settle in by arranging visits by her big sister!
I'm impressed by the variety of activities and classes my 3 year old does: French, music, gym, dancing... she's always kept busy and entertained, not to mention the knowledge and skills she's developing. I also love the online journal, where I can see observations and comments about both girls - it's wonderful to see what they've been learning and share in their achievements. So glad we chose The Cottage, highly recommended!

My daughter has attended this nursery for just over 3 years and has spent time in each class as she had grown up. In each class, she had a key worker and has had a very good relationship with them as well as other members of staff. All the staff knew my daughter and were able to greet her by name regardless
of if she was in their group or not.
This nursery stood out from other nursery's in the area when my husband and I were looking for somewhere to send our daughter. The staff who showed us round were helpful and knowledgeable about the nursery and made the decision an easy one. They were also accommodating when it came to changing hours and days as my daughter progressed through the nursery. The nursery manager who is in place now has taken the nursery from strength to strength and it is even better now than when we looked around.
I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a place to send their child where they will be looked after as though they are with family.

I can’t sing the praises of this nursery enough! My son started here at 18 months old, it was soon picked up that he had a severe speech delay and the support he has received as a result has been fantastic. The care of the staff towards the children is outstanding and both my children have thrived
at this nursery. Staff are dedicated and extremely approachable and the relationships they build with the children are lovely to see.

We are extremely happy with how quickly our daughter has settled into The Cottage Nursery. She can be quite attached to both of us and we were worried about the change of nursery and new faces. All of the staff members have been extremely welcoming and they genuinely care about the children. They always
have fun activities planned and I love how the classroom shows that there is lots of learning being achieved. The feedback to parents is fantastic (newsletters, online observations, daily monitoring and lots of other activities for parents to take part in). It is really lovely to see how my daughter has progressed and become more confident in such a short space of time. The outdoor facilities have also been great for our daughter as she loves to be free! I would definitely recommend this nursery.

My eldest child started at the nursery at 20months. I have always been impressed by how staff assessed her and could tell her strengths and weaknesses very quickly. They managed her pushing boundaries fantastically and were a great help when she was difficult to potty train. She has now gone onto the
attached prep school and is doing fantastically. My 3 year old has been at the cottage for just over a year he loves going and the staff work hard to foster his interests, he always goes in and comes out with a big smile. The few times he may have been a little upset there’s always a member of staff willing to give him a cuddle.

My daughter absolutely loved The Cottage Nursery and so did I. All the girls helped mould her into the independent child she is today. I always felt supported as a mother. The ladies here are fabulous at there job, they work so hard and it shows in how much the children love them. They have a beautiful
spacious building and outdoor area. I love the use of the online tapestry app (amazing). They do cooking, French, dance, seasonal celebrations, stay and play, day trips ( older kids). We truly miss them all. Love you guys.

This is a good nursery. We moved our child here after being unhappy with another nursery and The Cottage was a dramatic improvement. There are niggles with every nursery but the important thing is that staff and management invite feedback, take it well and take action. The staff directly involved in
my child’s care throughout 3 different rooms from 10 to 33 months so far have been excellent. There are great efforts made to create bonds and reassure parents that the most precious thing in their world is in safe hands for what can be 10 hours a day.
The outdoor provision was not brilliant but was recently improved and new equipment provided. Learning and creative materials are excellent, giving a good variety of stimulating activities all aligned to EYFS. The parents evening, bi-monthly report and the feedback on tapestry are really useful for tracking development and provide some entertaining photo stories! But most important of all I am assured my child is safe and happy.

The staff and management are absolutely fantastic. They really care about all the children at the nursery and know each child inside out. As a result, they know all of their likes and dislikes enabling them to tailor engaging activities that help the children excel through fun learning. My daughter
has come on in leaps and bounds. Her confidence has soared and her literacy and numeracy skills are outstanding. All thanks to the hard work and diligence of the Staff. The children are shown so much love and care. My daughter constantly refers to her nursery teachers as her best friends. My son joined the nursery in June. His vocabulary and communication skills again have excelled. The love and care that they show him makes it so easy to leave him there. Last month my son became unwell at the nursery. When I went to collect him one of the nursery teachers was lovingly cradling him whilst he slept. The affection that was shown to him whilst he was unwell I will always be eternally grateful of.

Excellent nursery. I cannot fault anything over the past seven years that both my boys have attended here. Both my boys loved going to nursery and I liked that over the years the same members of staff looked after my boys.
The webcam is great, and the online journals app they use is brilliant for
keeping up with what your child is learning. All the staff are fantastic with the children.
I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Brilliant nursery!


My daughter loves attending this nursery and has made some fab friends including her teachers! All the staff are lovely and very approachable for parents.


My girl is growing into such a confident, clever young lady and I feel the nurturing environment here has greatly encouraged

this and the plan is for her to attend the prep school to maintain this.

My son has attended The Cottage Nursery for nearly 3 years. I have to say it's a fabulous nursery. The staff are all excellent and go above and beyond the call of duty. My son has come on in leaps and bounds, his confidence, speech and made some lovely friendships throughout his time here.
I would
definitely recommend this nursery. My new baby will be going to this nursery as soon as he's 1 yr old as well. Thank you, all such brilliant staff that make the nursery such a special place for all the children.
